Eric Ayala while Roth is there a lot I think it’s because she isn’t in every episode while Dan will do it alone if he has to. Also and I don’t know this but I think dan does the research for the show and then fills Roth in so he has someone to talk about it with

I've seen TLJ twice so far, but will definitely see it at least once or twice more (workplace outing later this week, but possibly again with family over Christmas). I saw TFA three times.

Is it bad that these movie reports have become the highlight of my Monday’s?
You need to keep in mind that when the Disney Fox merger goes through they won’t be making as many franchise films per year. As of now we get 1-3 X-Men films from Fox which add considerably to their annual box office with Disney doing about the same with Marvel studios. When they’re merged it seems unlikely that they’ll be making 5-6 comic book movies per year. So that 31% probably won’t be accurate for after the merger

This is my favourite show on this channel.
Per screen seems like a minor detail because movie theater sizes differ so much. You can have a 50 seat theater and 150 seat theater. How many seats were sold would be a better indicator or what percentage of each theater.
The only movies I saw three times in the theaters were Percy Jackson 2 and Ragnarok lol

Thanks for the segment Dan. Very informative. Also this whole merger is very troubling. If SJ, which is usually very enthusiastic about Disney properties, is so concerned about this merger, you know this is going to end up hurting the consumer and the diversity the of movies being made.
Dan how much does the per screen average get affected by how ridiculous the ticket prices are in LA and NYC? I hear you all mention paying $20 to $25 a ticket on SJU. When I went to see Last Jedi this morning I only paid $5 ($4.89) a ticket. Does anywhere report how many tickets were sold? I guess my point is three of us saw the movie for less than $15 vs having to spend more than $20 for one in those major cities. This is a nice theater with the wide reclining chairs and plenty of leg room in Connecticut. Just to give you additional data Thor: Ragnorok was around $11 a ticket to see in 3D.

Hey Dan. What are you multiplying with to get your after adjustment numbers? Is your data based off of boxofficemojo?
17:55 - To be eligible for Oscar contention a film must screen in a theatre in Los Angeles County and run for 7 consecutive days.
The only problem with this is assuming that the output will remain the same. Disney released 8 films this year. What makes anyone think this will change significantly now that they have absorbed fox. Look for the fox output to decrease greatly.

Yeah, but if Disney buys Fox , they will not release all of the Fox movies, cause that would mean competing with themselves. Soo they will probably not have 31% of the box office
