Glad someone else remembered this, given how obscure it was. Oddly enough, I did like it enough to do exactly what was outlined here, and wrote a Dracula/Star Wars Gothic Horror style continuation a few years back.
in my opinion, there have been 2 Force Vampires. Tenebrae/Vitiate who fed off the life force of the Sith on Nathema i believe. and of course Nihilus. Now im learning about this. Keep up the good work T.S.W.
Death troopers for sure. My problem with Red Harvest was the plant used to destroy the zombies, making it grow out of them. It was a big or miss for me
i think the book "Red harvest" would be a good one (original titel Black orcid but changed later on because the name did not fit it) this is a book that is part of the old republic and takes place in 3645 bby on a world controled by the sith where a Sith lord at a accademy is researching imortality and basicly ends up creating extremly deadly zombies. i am prety sure the entire planet is devistated in the end. the zombies is not your average dumb brainless zombie but acctualy smart and inteligent and even a accademy full of sith aprentices is not able to take them out oh and every single living beeing can be effected, tree ent like beeing? effected. Bantas? infected and turned to. its a devestating disease and would be a good zombie horror movie. another good horror book could be the book "Fatal alliance" set to the same time period. this book have self replicating droids that have one single mission protect the life of one single woman from all POSSIBLE treaths. the treath these droids ended up posing was so great that mandeloriens, jedi and sith coporated in completly destroying the droids that was just about to start spreading to the rest of the galaxy and would have completly consumed everything, killing or destroying anything that could even be considerd a treat.
Oh look, MORE Jedi who survived Order 66. You know, eventually we are going to get a story where we meet an aging man, and find out he was the kid who said "Master Skywalker, there's too many of them. What are we going to do? "😊 In all seriousness, though, at the beginning of the video, I was really excited; I hoped this was going to be about Star Wars' actual space vampires, in the Anzati, and maybe even one of them that had become a Jedi, but I'm not going to really complain. I know of the luck soup connoisseurs, but I knew nothing about this, or any "Silver Jedi" so it was cool to get to learn about neat Star Wars I knew nothing about. 😊 Good video!
I would absolutely love to see this adapted into a star wars show or even full length movie. It would be something different. Another thing, while i did enjoy the Acolyte and its focus on the Jedi in a negative, realistic light. I hope that in the future we get something directly following a sith or sith apprentice and their journey with them as the main charachter. This is what i thought the Acolyte was going to be like and while i was one of the outliers who enjoyed that show it didnt scratch the itch ive got for a purely darkside focused story.
This is scary. Terrifying. It's good he disappered. I agree, this is like Dracula and Van Helsing. I agree with comments. It's perfect for Halloween. Have a phenomenal day too😊
I read both Death Troopers and Red Harvest once. Like with Star by Star, I don't see myself ever reading such books again. I barely kept my dinner when I read Death Troopers, but then again, I think I was watching that anime/cartoon film on SciFi channel that served as a prequel for the Dead Space computer game.
I honestly wish that Lucas back when he owned the franchise would’ve made some sort of side movie following the events of death troopers…. I’ve read some horror books before and being such a big Star Wars fan…. that gory and gruesome story really got to me
I REALLY wanna see a canon onscreen story of Project Blackwing and seeing those zombie stormtroopers! I was hoping that was what that one Zillo Beast episode in season 2 of Bad Batch was gonna be so I was a little disappointed at first lol
Death Troopers was a fun read. Personally, I'd like to see a story similar to Pumpkinhead. You can have a Sithspawn that hunted other Darksiders because it was imprinted with the last thought of a Rakatan Force Hound.
I never heard of silver Jedi before. Interesting. Totally enjoyed this holocron. Hypothetically, I wonder how would it played out if this Vamp would fare against Anakin Skywalker? As far I know there are only two EU Books are horror themed. If there’s more, I would love some recommendations. Thanks for sharing 👍
this is new to me, where does this story/stories come from? deff interested in checking this out for myself, any guidance would be much appreciated. this is a banger of a video again!
I see "Silver" Jedi an for some reason i picture a Jedi Retiree thats ready to hang up his robes an saber, take his meds an vitamins an then go go spend his day playing golf or whatever "retired" people do in that reality
I had no idea that something like this could come around if the Jedi experimented with the force. This guy is basically a Darth Nihilus wannabe. Only in this instance, he is just as scary as the former
The concept of the Silver Jedi Sentinels could work properly IF treated with the as much backstory as the Dark-side Inquisition. Meaning at least tying into a Cal Cestus 3rd game storyline or whatever. A high sales game touting hardcore extremists Light-side users hunting dark siders could provide relief from any claiming Survivor or Outcast has become stale. More eyeballs commands more incentives but Disney may fear losing younger audience if content is too adult aka too cannon faithful.
Red Harvest did zombies already but a Star Wars horror hm... I would have a pair of Rule of Two sith on a ship in the unknown regions to train. With them would be an array of servants when they sense something. Something neither dark nor light...just hungry. The thing enters their ship like how Starweird can, right through the hull. As it stalks them, a mystery their senses can't penetrate, an oddity their minds can't comprehend, they find all the power that generations of honing and killing each other for all but useless to them as the thing resists the force. Only the apprentice makes it out, abandoning their master to the thing to escape...and their holocron warns all subsequent sith to be ready, for something lurks in the dark of the Unknown. Something beyond the force as they know it.
You say that he was captured but someone just before the Clone Wars, and kept hoping that he could be turned back to the light. Reven himself turned black, then back. Some other Jedi, before the Rule of Two, turned to the Dark, and later turned back. Given all that; how could the last Grand master (Yoda) tell Luke that it could not be done? Luke had to basically not accept Yoda’s “firmly helde” belief. Elide to surrender Then, Luke does it to Anakin. Later on, Rey did it to Kyle. The Jedi order could have started using lightsabers based on whatever the stun setting on a blaster uses. They could still use them to duel, when you slice a limb, it goes numb, while still blocking each other’s saber strikes and deflecting blaster bolts. Permanently fries droid electronics, even. Couldn’t maim or kill organically. Couldn’t cut through walls.
pre-Disney, the lightsabres the younglings train with used a special crystal that essentially locked them on stun - getting hit by such a training sabre stings like anything, but doesn't cut. Older apprentices used weaker versions of regular lightsabres that could be further dialled down to that same "stings like anything but won't cut" setting - as seen in the Apprentice Tournament in Yoda: Dark Rendezvous
I am not really sure it is horror but I have always wanted an R rated movie or series where we see Vader hunt Jedi. This was very interesting though and I could be down for Star Wars Van Helsing.
You know...disney really xould have done alot. Id have loved for holiday themed little anthologies with stories like this for Halloween. ( I enjoyed the guardians of the galaxy christmas special and the werewolf by night thing they did for halloween, even the jedi anime was a good idea even though there was only one good episode of it) id rather see a couple of those a year than another series that sucks
Master Yoda tells us that " He who controls his own power is the most powerful." That being said, it takes knowledge or wisdom to know that power corruption and happen with the best intentions. But with the mideclorians being the force itself, why do these creatures or creations happen if it's not the will of the force to expand itself or its own knowledge?
I wish we could got to see some kind of Diablo 2 mixed with WoW Druid-like Jedi or Sith in Star Wars. It would be cool to see a Jedi transform into one of the creatures while the Sith would be more like horrible mutated by alchemy.
Horror is probably my least favorite film genre, but MAN a full scale, high production live action movie or series of movies about this would be AWESOME (if Disney/Lucasfilm could stop getting in their own way). And if they were REALLY bold, make it R rated.
Quick question that is totally not about this video. Hopefully you actually read the comments for ideas. I'm reading Plagueis for the 50th time it seems and I was wondering do you think that Palpatine name Vader after his friend Vidar Kim? Maybe old Palps had a tiny sliver of a heart???
A race of werewolves similar to wookies. They stay in their beast/monster forms but have a primitive culture. From the unknown regions of course. Physically superior even to Sith and Jedi. But not unreasonable.
It sucks this is all only from a single EU source... would have been neat to have this be more canon, though I don't see how this would work in the rise of the empire era.
Seeking power is the Darkside, seeking wisdom is the Light. Not really a horror fan. There's something about the Darkside being for destruction that bothers me. It makes it cliche I believe and turns it into Light versus Dark, Life versus Death, Creation versus Destruction. I had thought of it before as more of an influence that those of strong conviction could overcome. I liked that version where a user could balance the Force by combining the Light and the Dark to create something greater that the two but now it's just Light side good Dark side bad.
If there is one type of horror story that absolutely must be in the Star Wars universe - it is cosmic, Lovecraftian horror. And everything is perfectly set up for such stories already. Imagine. Pet all the puppies, kiss all the orphans, the Light Side wills it!", "We are the bad guys. Kick all the puppies, eat all the orphans, the Dark Side wills it!" and so on. But someone at some moment, through series of increasingly eldritch events is forced to realize, that there are no sides. There is only The Force. And it does not care one bit about all this Jedi/Sith nonsense. And also there are shoggoths in your basement. Deal with it.

"Death Troopers"/"Red Harvest" would both make for compelling Star Wars horror films or mini-series. Haha.
Death troopers for sure. My problem with Red Harvest was the plant used to destroy the zombies, making it grow out of them. It was a big or miss for me
Better idea than the Acolyte. Pitch it.
Could we get a video on the history of the 'Darth' title? When the sith first started using it and who?
Thanks for this video. I had no idea about this story until now. May the force ever be with you.

I now want to see vampires in Disney star wars. Maybe a vampire sith lord with a similar ability to the son's bite
This would be some badass DLC or game even if made correctly (IE: NOT by EA or by anyone ignorant of star wars lore/incapable of such a project)
Idk Jedi fallen order and survivor are both awesome!!
@kdusel1991 I'm open to it I would just like to play it lol overall lol
Death Troopers by Joe Schreiber was a good Star Wars horror novel, if you ever get the chance to read or listen to it. I really enjoyed it.
i was thinking about that book to but i could not remember the name of it. but i have read/lisend to it and its another great book
