    Hello! Does the 2018 Journey have 2 thermostats?

    Was this automobile getting hot or never getting up to temp? Mine just started getting a little warm and then getting a lot warmer yet and I'm trying to figure it out

      It was very slow getting up to temps. Once your car has been running for about 15-20 minutes touch the radiator hose that goes to the thermostat housing if it’s luke warm or cold you may have the same issue

      @@CoachKFixeditTv even if it's getting hot?

      @@OnePieceatatimeranch oh no if it’s getting hot your good to go on this one this particular vehicle has two separate ones. Gottah do the process of elimination.
      Make sure fluid is topped off.
      Make sure there’s no air in the system.

      @@CoachKFixeditTv I really do appreciate the reply mine is a 2018 with the 2.4 motor and it seems to be kind of random one time it doesn't heat too bad and then another it gets hot as hellfire and whenever I took the radiator cap off there wasn't anything flowing through there and then finally there was, but not as much as I think there should have been, but I just turned the heater on full blast and it's staying right where the temp should be in the middle of the gauge like it did when it was new. I just took the cap off while it was still coming up to temp and the belch tank was totally full of antifreeze because I put it in there a few days ago to try and help the situation and it was low but after I did that it seems to be circulating now and not heating do you think it's possible that there was an air pocket and that would have been causing it?

      @@OnePieceatatimeranch most certainly. My biggest headache dealing with any none self purging cooling system is always a pesky air pocket.

    Question. My 2015 journey crossover is over heating not to the point to where it dies. But due to the temp gauge passing over halfway, my AC cuts off an on. Does it mean I have bad thermostat?

    Sorry, what was the issue why you change the thermostat? Is it because it doesn't reach normal operating temperature and as a result, it will blow less heat?
    2nd question: I know that 2.4L Engine has 2 thermostat, which one did you buy? The one rated with 203F (95C) or 170F (77C)?

    • @CoachKFixeditTv
      @CoachKFixeditTv  2 роки тому

      Yes . After the car was running after a previous cooling system repair I noticed it didn’t reach op temps at the normal timing. I changed this one because it’s the primary one. Stat thermostat 203f

    When I get in to pulling the thermostat I always spend extra time to flush the system before putting it all back together
