Replaced my timing chain assembly but the gasket I used on the pickup tube might not have sealed so I'll be tearing back down and my rod bearing fix didn't work for 3 spun bearings, not sure if the previous owner didn't change the oil very often but its been a project.
@johnconnelly3674 oh man. Funny you mentioned that, for a while I couldn't remember if I put the seal or not, but after driving it 2,000 miles I'm sure I did. I think also installed it dry, when I tore it down it had rtv on it. Weird. Good luck!
@johnconnelly3674 yeah it's like a small sheet metal with the gasket in between. What symptoms did you have that it didn't seal? Oil leak? Low oil pressure?
@FranciscoJavierOutdoors oil pressure dropped around 5 then bounce between 5 and 30 at idle, gave a little gas and went back up above 40. Could be the pressure sensor above the oil filter, lol about the only part I didn't mess with.
@@johnconnelly3674 sorry just saw this, yeah man i would check that out. initially i had a code for a crank position sensor, but eventually it went away and never came back after clearing codes. i did have some electrical issues after the suv sat there for a very long time. for example, i had to replace the windshield wiper assembly, the climate control module messed up, but i ended up just removing/adjusting the actuator blend doors to cold only for now, while i wait for a new module. i think ive heard chevys from this year are notorious for oil pressure gauge readings, at work we have a unit (silverado) around the same year that has an oil pressure gauge maxed out, but oil level is ok. weird.

Putting sealant on the next one, they aren't like the o ring version, seems like a thin gasket.
