Before the chorus he makes four promises, one each time, never stop dreaming of you, never forget the way you feel right now, never forgive myself if we don’t go all the way, and never do it better than I do it with you. Then of course the very end of the song is just ❤❤. Rip Meatloaf. I will not forget your beautiful voice, no I won’t do that.
In the beginning he starts with there's "no turning back," and he'll "never stop dreaming of you," following each stanza with "I won't do that." Then there's his response of "I CAN do that" to all her questions of saving her and being there for her. Then, at the end, she says that he'll "forget everything," "move on," and "screw around." Once again, he says "I won't do that." It's a beautiful love song, made powerful with amazing vocals and rock-n-roll. RIP our beloved Meatloaf (Michael Lee Aday).
Very similar to my interpretation. She is dreaming of everything she wants and that they could have together, but for some reason, not told in the song, she can't stay with him. So in her last verse she is telling him he will move on and find someone else. He responds, "no I won't do that." I think the video is cutting back and forth between the past and the present and it's showing he didn't move on. He's looking back at the past through the pan of liquid and the eyepiece thing still says he can't move on.
Dead on but goes a bit deeper as well. Listen to the last few lines of each verse. I'll never stop dreaming... As long as your dreams are coming true... I'll never forgive myself... Is a full progression until the end.
Finally, after all these years, I for it. Thanks for that. Beautiful song, Superb, magnificent performance by Meatloaf, his voice one of a kind. A showman to his fingertips. Will be sorely missed. RIP, sir.

He will never lie to her, he will never turn back, he will never stop dreaming of her, he will never forget of how she feels right now. Later he will never cheat on her,. Basically she is the only one for him forever. No lying, no cheating, no hurting her or leaving ever.
Using this song, I can always tell who does and doesn't pay attention to lyrics when they want to understand a song. The last line of each verse has an activity the singer won't do. I have honestly never understood the people who claim "he never says what he won't do". Yes, he does. Quite clearly.
I could swear that the version they used to play on the radio cut off the entire end of this song. That was the only place I ever heard it until years later and I too was surprised that there were female vocals when I finally ran across the video. I think all the people that don't know what "that" was only heard the radio version and even though there are smaller things he says he won't do earlier in the song, without the last verse it really doesn't make much sense.
I don’t get how people think it’s just the end where the one THING he won’t do is revealed. He won’t lie to you, won’t forget how he feels right now, won’t forgive himself, never do it better than he does it with you, never stop dreaming of you, etc. I dunno.
I'll be honest. I have always loved Meatloaf and his songs are part of my family dynamic. There wasn't an easy way to look up lyrics when this came out.
The "won't do that" he's talking about is at the end of every verse: But I'll never forget the way you feel right now But I'll never forgive myself if we don't go all the way, Tonight But I'll never do it better than I do it with you, So long, so long But I'll never stop dreaming of you every night of my life And then for the final verses: After a while you'll forget everything As a brief interlude and a midsummer night's fling Then you'll see that it's time to move on I won't do that I know the territory, I've been around It'll all turn to dust and we'll all fall down Sooner or later, you'll be screwing around I won't do that

I stand with block buster video too haha. Hopefully the billions congress keeps sending them ensures the embezzlement and corruption continues over there. By sending money to them, the American government is actually treading on their own citizens by making their lives immensely worse with a poorer economy lol
Meatloaf is a snap shot of my childhood. The Bat out of hell album is a masterpiece. Please react to this album if you have time. Thanks for the great reaction to this incredible artist doing what nobody else was doing at this time. The moment you get it, priceless. 🫶
Absolutely agree 100% .Bat Out of Hell and Rock 'n' Roll Dreams come Through love them. Btw anyone who hasn't seen the video for Rock 'n' Dreams will get a surprise when they do
'Paradise By the Dashboard Light' and 'Two Out of Three Ain't Bad' are good songs that make for good reactions. He also did a great cove of 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' Edit: I think the sensual scene is a nod to a scene from Bram Stoker's Dracula, which would've come out the year before. If I'm right vampire castle = magic castle? Why dunno, but that movie had a pretty good Annie Lenox song 'Love Song for a Vampire'
"The thing he won’t do, Meat Loaf said, is spelled out in the line before the chorus kicks in. In the lyrics above, for example, he’s saying he would do anything for love, but he won’t ever “stop dreaming of you every night of [his] life.” “It’s the line before every chorus,” Meat Loaf explained to the “Storytellers” audience, albeit with the help of a blackboard. In fact, four such promises are made during the course of the song, each time before a chorus kicks in. In addition to saying he’ll “never stop dreaming of you,” the singer also says he’ll “never forget the way you feel right now,” “never forgive myself if we don’t go all the way,” and “never do it better than I do it with you.”"
Jim Stienman who wrote this song is a genius, if you ever want to go on a rabbit hole journey with song writers, he's one to do that with. If I'm not mistaken he also wrote the big Celine Dion song "It's all coming back to me now." The same year as this song. Another amazing one of his songs is Bonnie Tylers hit song, "Total Eclipse of the Heart" If you listen to enough of his amazing songs, you can recognize them almost at the first note.
He won't do whatever was in the verse when he says But, I'll never... it's different for each verse. He actually made a video to explain it, because, so many people didn't get it.
Of all of the musical artists that have passed in the past 10 years, the only one that makes my heart hurt when I think about it is Meatloaf. He was at a convention one year that I wanted to go to, but didn't, and he was scheduled to return but passed away not long before. I kick myself for not going to the first time I was there, just to meet him. His songs and voice are just something that goes deep into my soul. Also, this video and the "I'm Not a Vampire(Revamped)" have to be 2 of the greatest storytelling music videos of all time. They feel like you've watched a movie, and yet make you want so much more!
This is the short version of the song. The album version is 12 minutes long. This album is one of my all-time favorites. I still listen to it every now and then. Both Bat Out of Hell albums have stood the test of time.
The key to this is to listen (or find the lyrics and read them) right before every time he starts with “I won’t do that”. For instance, the first one is “but I’ll never forget the way you look tonight, oh no, no way, and I would do anything for love, but I won’t do that.” Each verse has a different something that he won’t do and you did catch the end part, so well done!
If you listened to it again, after your epiphany (!), you'd notice that there is something in every verse that he won't do for love. As usual BP, loved your reaction, you are a very engaging guy to watch react and you shouldn't downplay your skill in making it look easy. By the way, if you ever get chance to see the Bat Out of Hell Musical (the tour has ended for now but is sure to start again) I guarantee it will be one of the best stage shows you'll ever see! Fully endorsed by Jim Steinman and Meatloaf (before they both passed away), it features all the Steinman classics (this, Bat out of Hell, 2 out of 3 ain't bad, Paradise by the dashboard etc, Objects in the rear etc, Dead ringer for love, It's all coming back to me now, and many more). In fact, because they were screwed over on the Bat out of hell record deal and received a miniscule amount compared to actual sales, they both made a plea for people to stop buying the album and instead go see the musical (which they did get royalties from). I've seen it twice in London and once in my home town and would definitely go see it again.
If you love the piano playing in this song, his name was Jim Steinman. He played on quite a few Meatloaf songs. He also did a duet with Bonnie Tyler called "Total Eclipse Of The Heart". Rock on Black Pegasus.
Steinman wrote so many songs that people don't connect, but you can usually hear his classic style in wildly different performers' music. He also brought us "Holding Out For A Hero" by Bonnie Tyler, "Never Forget" by Take That, "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" by Celine Dion, "Read 'Em And Weep" by Barry Manilow, "Left In The Dark" by Barbra Streisand, and so much more.
Lorraine Crosby is an English singer and songwriter. She was the female vocalist on Meat Loaf's 1993 hit single I'd Do Anything for Love. It wasn't her in the video. Yes, one of the all time greatest songs, ever. Such a talented man who lived with such self-loathing, low self esteem and demons. Truly sad.....
She is still banging this song out in 2024, with a guy called Steve Stienman. Steve started out as a tribute to meat loaf. He now records his own music. if you like Meatloaf and his music it is a must see.
Yep and Lorraine Crosby is from my city in the U.K. called Newcastle upon Tyne. My auntie is friends with her lol at family parties when she was pissed and this song come on you couldn’t get her to shut up about it lol can’t blame her tho as meat loaf’s a absolute legend.
This is my favorite song of his. I need to get my album out and play it. It has been a while. 47 years. WOW! I am getting old. But the music never gets old.
All Meatloaf if good but I Strongly recommend Paradise By The Dashboard Lights & Wasted Youth ( a legendary monologue) You cant listen to Meatloaf without either of these being heard 🙂 RIP Meatloaf aka Marvin Lee Aday
One of the top 3 all time videos on MTV-it was played about once every hour-it's a rock opera to the max-the lyrics really come alive when Meatloaf and the girl sing back and forth-and the video just blasts off from that point on. So over the top dramatics.
I remember there was a valentine's card that said something like "I would do all the things Meatloaf wouldn't do" as if that was romantic. And true music fans were like "You'd cheat on and leave her? How is that romantic?"
You are 100% right. They did not use the actress/model Dana Patrick's voice but another English(British) singer/songwriter Lorraine Crosby. Dana Patrick also mentioned in interviews that she only lip-sync to Crosby's vocals on set and that after the music video came out she was flooded with deals from music executives who thought she was actually singing in the music video.
When you got it I got chills. His music really puts me in a good place now as it did back in the day. The orchestra, lyrics, vocals & energy, his music was so special. I’m 63 now and will never tire on Meatloaf.
This music video is based on the movie "Bram Stoker's Dracula" with Gary Oldman...it even has scenes from the movie re-enacted. The "chicks" you mentioned crawling on her were the brides of Dracula, right out of the movie, and his character is Dracula...going through time and space to find his love while being hunted for the "monster" he is. Regardless of all of that, he'd do anything to find her again, to love again, but at the end he wouldn't let her sacrifice her life to join him in his misery....he won't do that! It's a great song, especially if you're a fan of the movie. It applies the character of Dracula to real life with the things she mentioned like screwing around and forgetting about her in the end. A brilliant song. Great PodCast!!
lol after watching your Faithfully reaction it cracks me up you were confused on whether he was Meatloaf or not. This entire album is truly a masterpiece. I've listened to it in it's entirety thousands of times.
@@merklingassoc Go rewatch that video. He specifically ask if the singer is Meatloaf and wanted to make sure it was the same band that did Don’t Stop Believing.
Meatloaf had such a hard childhood, and he prove his father wrong he did amount to something he amounted to a great influence on American music and a great human being ! The power in his voice is absolutely incredible ! Such an underrated performer I love everything he did
Really enjoyed your reaction! There is just so much to love in the ML / Steinman partnership. Steinman is a genius (those tempo shifts! the OTT lyrics!) and no one can deliver like ML…that voice! And the emotional delivery! Bat Out of Hell is probably my fav song. Those final notes….just wow.
He is expressing what love should be. I can only imagine these goofy kids calling him a stalker or such. Guess they don't show Phantom of the Opera on Tik Tok
The female vocal is Loraine Crosby ( Mrs loud ) the original singer never turned up to recording so Mrs loud filled in. She NEVER got paid or any remuneration.
Saw him at SPAC in Saratoga NY years ago. It was a theatrical production, including him riding in on a motorcycle. Never saw another concert that even came close. Everyone knew all the songs, SO FANTASTIC
I always interpreted it like meatloaf was a vampire, and would naturally outlive his human companions. He got especially attached to one(or is trying really hard to get laid) and what he is telling her he wont do is get over/forget her/move on when she eventually dies
Back in the 1970s, I was living in Philadelphia. I walked to the U. Of Pennsylvania at night with a group of friends to see Meatloaf. We were poor; it was drizzling; we were walking through slums; and rats that were bigger than cats were running in packs. Got to U.. And Meatloaf didn't show. Love your channel.
He will do anything for love but not screw around? Well, duh. Imagine saying to a girl:" I will do anything for love but I won't screw around". Nonsense, right? It is something that girl would request and you deny it even though you love her.
It's from the movie Dracula. Many of the scenes are taken out of the movie. For instance, three women rubbing on her is the scene that the three women are rubbing and drawing bloode from Keanu Reeves character.
I bought the CD the first day it came out and was pissed because I thought the CD was skipping at the opening of that song. It wasn't until I saw the video that I wasn't disappointed.
When he says I won't do that, I always thought he meant he wouldn't leave her, or forsake her. This is the lady that did all his songs, and toured with him until the end.
Meat Loaf always made a production of his videos, he was a very talented perfectionist. The song is written for 2, so much like a play a line of dialect by one person and a response from the other... Meat Loaf's line is in response to being told he will do such and such, he says he wont, when Meat Loaf is asked if he could do something he responds with I can do that. It's a beauty and the beast love story, she going on past experiences, he just purely out of love. Thanks for putting Meat Loaf up it is just 2 years since we lost him.. a very lovely man I had the pleasure of meeting and attending his concerts here in UK
Always thought of this song as a spiritual/mirror image successor to Paradise by the Dashboard Lights. In the later, looking for love ( and "relations" ) two people are miserable through life as that moment was all they had, whereas in this song it's about the moment is just the start
He thought he was the beast. He had low self esteem. For years. He disappeared for years . Because of it. But he had a beautiful voice and finally found himself. Time me he was always beautiful
Gotta love how Meatloaf sampled the bed scene from Dracula. XD Please go listen to Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through, Life is a Lemon (And I Want My Money Back), and Two out of Three Ain't Bad. But if you want an amazing song from him, go listen to Objects in the Rearview Mirror.
Near the end of each verse he states several things he would do and one that he wont do. "I'll never lie to you and that's a fact. (I'll never forget the way you feel right now. Oh no, no way)" "I'll be there til the final act. I'll take the vow and seal the pact. (but I'll never forgive myself if we don't go all the way tonight)." and so with the items in parentheses being what he wont do.
Think about an immortal male looking for his one true love, he finds her and will do anything for her. If you need a reference read one of Christine Feehans books.
I appreciate you. I’ve been a Meatloaf fan since I was 7 years ago dancing around my living room singing the whole Meatloaf album. His music was a big influence on me and I grew up to consider myself “an actor who sings” and rock-opera was always an obsession. You do Meatloaf and those who loved his work proud. I’m also someone who analyzes songs (I love psychology too) so was your approach to his music was a special treat. Please keep the Meatloaf coming! (For Cryin Out Loud rips my heart out every time. Try that one)
Reminiscent of Dracula "I have crossed oceans of time to find you" (with Dracula's brides, the 3 sisters), the persecution of Frankenstein's Creature, the hope of Beauty and the Beast.... this video is beautifully haunting.
I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That) Some days it don't come easy Some days it don't come hard Some days it don't come at all And these are the days that never end Some nights you're breathing fire Some nights you're carved in ice Some nights you're like nothing I've ever Seen before or will again Maybe I'm crazy, but it's crazy and it's true I know you can save me, no-one else can save me now but you As long as the wheels are turning As long as the bays are burning As long as your dreams are coming true You'd better believe it I would do anything for love I know it's true and that's a fact I would do anything for love And there'll never be no turning back But I'll never do it better than I do it with you So long, so long And I would do anything for love Oh, I would do anything for love I would do anything for love but I won't do that I won't do that I would do anything for love Anything you've been dreaming of, but I just won't do that I would do anything for love Anything you've been dreaming of, but I just won't do that I would do anything for love Anything you've been dreaming of, but I just won't do that I would do anything for love Anything you've been dreaming of, but I just won't do that I would do anything for love Anything you've been dreaming of, but I just won't do that I would do anything for love Anything you've been dreaming of, but I just won't do But I'll never stop dreaming of you every night of my life, no way But I would do anything for love But I won't do that Oh, I won't do that Will you raise me up? Will you help me down? Will you get me right out of this godforsaken town? Can you make it all a little less cold? I can do that I can do that Will you hold me sacred? Will you hold me tight? Will you hose me down with holy water, if I get too hot? Will you take me places I've never known? I can do that Oh, I can do that After a while you'll forget everything It was a brief interlude and a midsummer night's fling And you'll see that it's time to move on No, I won't do that I won't do that I know the territory, I've been around It'll all turn to dust and we'll all fall down Sooner or later you'll be screwing around I won't do that No, I won't do Anything for love Oh, I would do anything for love I would do anything for love but I won't do that No, I won't do that
Meat loaf when asked in an interview on UK tv around the time of this tracks release, what "that was" replied along the lines that we all have one thing that we would not do for a loved one, and the "that" is individual to the individual
Also: "I'll never forgive myself if we don't go all the way tonight / I would do anything for love / But I won't do that. "I'll never stop dreaming of you every night of my life / I'll do anything for love / But I won't do that. "I'll never forget the way you feel right now / I will do anything for love / But I won't do that
He does say what he does and doesn’t do for love by answering questions look at the lyrics to the song but my favorite part is the ladies part anyway here’s the lyrics: Some days it don't come easy Some days it don't come hard Some days it don't come at all And these are the days that never end Some nights you're breathing fire Some nights you're carved in ice Some nights you're like nothing I've ever Seen before or will again Maybe I'm crazy, but it's crazy and it's true I know you can save me, no-one else can save me now but you As long as the wheels are turning As long as the bays are burning As long as your dreams are coming true You'd better believe it I would do anything for love I know it's true and that's a fact I would do anything for love And there'll never be no turning back But I'll never do it better than I do it with you So long, so long And I would do anything for love Oh, I would do anything for love I would do anything for love but I won't do that I won't do that I would do anything for love Anything you've been dreaming of, but I just won't do that I would do anything for love Anything you've been dreaming of, but I just won't do that I would do anything for love Anything you've been dreaming of, but I just won't do that I would do anything for love Anything you've been dreaming of, but I just won't do that I would do anything for love Anything you've been dreaming of, but I just won't do that I would do anything for love Anything you've been dreaming of, but I just won't do But I'll never stop dreaming of you Every night of my life, no way But I would do anything for love But I won't do that Oh, I won't do that Will you raise me up? I absolutely love this song. Reminds me of road trips with my best friend. 'I won't do that' means whatever you want it to mean as I understand it. RIP Meatloaf
I always felt seeing the video that he felt unworthy of her, that he was so beneath her beauty that he eould not defile her with his touch....that his flaws would corrupt her perfection ( in his eyes ) but her love enables his seeing himself through her eyes.
He tells you the things he won't do immediately before telling you "but I won't do that." Some of the things include "forgive myself if we don't go all the way tonight" and "I'll never do it better than I do it with you, so long".

Any song or video from Meatloaf was never just a song or video. It was an event.
The "won't do that" he's talking about is at the end of every verse:
But I'll never forget the way you feel right now
But I'll never forgive myself if we don't go all the way, Tonight
But I'll never do it better than I do it with you, So long, so long
But I'll never stop dreaming of you every night of my life
And then for the final verses:
After a while you'll forget everything
As a brief interlude and a midsummer night's fling
Then you'll see that it's time to move on
I won't do that
I know the territory, I've been around
It'll all turn to dust and we'll all fall down
Sooner or later, you'll be screwing around
I won't do that
It's: "I'll never lie to you and that's a fact
I'll never forget the way you feel right now
Oh no, no way
And I would do anything for love
But I won't do that"

how do you have a dont tread on me snake (depicting the government to f off from our affairs) on top of a Ukrainian flag which the current war there has the deep state US government fingerprints all over? Bit of a conflicting message dont you think?
Pretty much any Meatloaf/Steinman collaboration is a masterpiece. I can't find one that isn't.
I stand with block buster video too haha. Hopefully the billions congress keeps sending them ensures the embezzlement and corruption continues over there. By sending money to them, the American government is actually treading on their own citizens by making their lives immensely worse with a poorer economy lol
I 👍
One of the GOATs of rock both vocal and performance. RIP
Btw anyone who hasn't seen the video for Rock 'n' Dreams will get a surprise when they do
This is from the sequel album of the one you mentioned. It's called Bat out of hell: back into hell. I have both albums in cd.
@Lolita6672
I have them too but old vinyl.
Objects in the rear view mirror(by meatloaf) is one of my favorite songs of all time...worth checking out
100%
Absolutely agree. Hard for me to listen to the song but love it all at the same time.
Meat was truly an awesome artist and storyteller. RIP.
'Paradise By the Dashboard Light' and 'Two Out of Three Ain't Bad' are good songs that make for good reactions. He also did a great cove of 'Total Eclipse of the Heart'
Edit: I think the sensual scene is a nod to a scene from Bram Stoker's Dracula, which would've come out the year before. If I'm right vampire castle = magic castle? Why dunno, but that movie had a pretty good Annie Lenox song 'Love Song for a Vampire'
You're right about the vampire castle.
"The thing he won’t do, Meat Loaf said, is spelled out in the line before the chorus kicks in. In the lyrics above, for example, he’s saying he would do anything for love, but he won’t ever “stop dreaming of you every night of [his] life.”
“It’s the line before every chorus,” Meat Loaf explained to the “Storytellers” audience, albeit with the help of a blackboard.
Yep. That’s it.
He literally says what he won't do in the second line of the song. "I would do anything for love, I'll never lie to you and that's a fact"
This is my wife and i's wedding song. and we got to meet him.
This is the short version of the song. The album version is 12 minutes long. This album is one of my all-time favorites. I still listen to it every now and then. Both Bat Out of Hell albums have stood the test of time.
It is. Her part is missing a few lines and such. It’s a gorgeous song all around though.
Can you imagine if Meatloaf and Jim Steinman could have managed to get along and gave us 20-30 years of great music?
I'm a huge Meat Loaf fan. I still maintain you will never find an emotion that can't be expressed theough a Meat Loaf song.
If you want a story song from Meatloaf check out Bat Out Of Hell...
Also Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad.
or "Paradise by the Dashboard Light"
The entire "Bat Out of Hell".
the production on this song is next level. Video too
Meatloaf crossed opera with rock music. He was a genius.
It was Dana Patrick in the video. She did an amazing job lip-syncing.
I was lucky enough to see Lorraine sing this song with meatloaf at whitley Bay, just when he'd been taken off the no 1 spot by Mr blobby. X
All Meatloaf if good but I Strongly recommend Paradise By The Dashboard Lights & Wasted Youth ( a legendary monologue) You cant listen to Meatloaf without either of these being heard 🙂
RIP Meatloaf aka Marvin Lee Aday
One of the top 3 all time videos on MTV-it was played about once every hour-it's a rock opera to the max-the lyrics really come alive when Meatloaf and the girl sing back and forth-and the video just blasts off
from that point on. So over the top dramatics.
She was just a model. The singer was Lorraine crosby
Lol. No he was not sure if the female actor was the female singer or just a model acting the part. 😂😂😂😂
Your spot on!.., goosebumps and all when was the last time you saw a280lb singer emot so much pain despair and most of all.., HOPE, and Resolve!
Paradise by the dashboard light with meatloaf is incredible, live 😊
Meatloaf is one of the best song writer/ singers
Back in the 1970s, I was living in Philadelphia. I walked to the U. Of Pennsylvania at night with a group of friends to see Meatloaf. We were poor; it was drizzling; we were walking through slums; and rats that were bigger than cats were running in packs. Got to U.. And Meatloaf didn't show. Love your channel.
Michael & Jim both died way too young and within 9 months
Loved watching & listening to this banger again with you BP. It’s so great that you’re exploring artists & music far & wide 👏👏👏🥰
He won't Lie or screw around.
He will do anything for love but not screw around? Well, duh. Imagine saying to a girl:" I will do anything for love but I won't screw around". Nonsense, right? It is something that girl would request and you deny it even though you love her.
One of the greatest Singer story tellers ever RIP mate l loved the journey with you
You have to do 2 out of 3 ain’t bad. The story is amazing and I think it brings up some great topics of discussion for you and Don.
It's a rock play on phantom of the opera. The "I WON'T DO THAT" is talking about holding the girl hostage like the phantom tried.
It's from the movie Dracula. Many of the scenes are taken out of the movie. For instance, three women rubbing on her is the scene that the three women are rubbing and drawing bloode from Keanu Reeves character.
So appreciated you reacting to this now classic number 1 song .. R.I.P Meatloaf
You are the FIRST reactor to this video that got what he WON'T do for love!!!! WTG dude
Congrats! You found the masterpiece! a true song o commitment!
It's actually all through the song even in the first verse what he won't do
Have you done Paradise by the dashboard lights?
Meatloaf is fantastic and I haven't found anyone who could do his covers justice not even Tommy
Tommy is fun. Really fun. However no one sings like ML… the breathlessness of it all just can’t be duplicated IMO.
One of the best videos done in the style of a rock opera out there.
Dana Patrick was the female in the video. Lorraine Crosby was the vocalist in the song. It had a Bonnie Rait sound to it.
❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹 I love Meatloaf's music. R.I.P.
so epic and theatrical...great old song...
She's a backup singer in the band. The lead singer was ill and couldn't sing in studio so she took her shot. Naturally she is in the viedo
Great to reaction to another classic from Meatloaf
As many times as I've heard this song and loved it, this was the first time it made me cry. Thank you Brother
Near the end of each verse he states several things he would do and one that he wont do.
"I'll never lie to you and that's a fact. (I'll never forget the way you feel right now. Oh no, no way)"
"I'll be there til the final act. I'll take the vow and seal the pact. (but I'll never forgive myself if we don't go all the way tonight)."
and so with the items in parentheses being what he wont do.
😂😂😂 he's going to listen to some more of the song it's the first sentence of the goddamn song
He had us all baffled. It's in the first verse. He won't forget how she feels right now.
He was amazing in concert. Bat Out of Hell was what i was brought up with.
Spring cleaning, windows and doors open and Bat Out Of Hell blaring.
Welcome, my Friend, to the “Land of Pointed Lyrics!” C’mon in…the water’s fine! 🤩😎😌🫶🏻🤘🏻
I love watching people these days react to music that we listen to when we were younger, Music was a whole lot different back then
My favorite Meatloaf song is "Bat Out of Hell".
Mine too. I’m Gonna Love Her for Borh of Us might be second, along with about a dozen others hah! Each one a special gift.
Great reaction to a legendary song.
Reminiscent of Dracula "I have crossed oceans of time to find you" (with Dracula's brides, the 3 sisters), the persecution of Frankenstein's Creature, the hope of Beauty and the Beast.... this video is beautifully haunting.
There are a couple of extra verses by Lorraine Crosby in the Album version, which I think really ads to the song.
I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)
Some days it don't come easy
Some days it don't come hard
Some days it don't come at all
And these are the days that never end
Some nights you're breathing fire
Some nights you're carved in ice
Some nights you're like nothing I've ever
Seen before or will again
Maybe I'm crazy, but it's crazy and it's true
I know you can save me, no-one else can save me now but you
As long as the wheels are turning
As long as the bays are burning
As long as your dreams are coming true
You'd better believe it
I would do anything for love
I know it's true and that's a fact
I would do anything for love
And there'll never be no turning back
But I'll never do it better than I do it with you
So long, so long
And I would do anything for love
Oh, I would do anything for love
I would do anything for love but I won't do that
I won't do that
I would do anything for love
Anything you've been dreaming of, but I just won't do that
I would do anything for love
Anything you've been dreaming of, but I just won't do that
I would do anything for love
Anything you've been dreaming of, but I just won't do that
I would do anything for love
Anything you've been dreaming of, but I just won't do that
I would do anything for love
Anything you've been dreaming of, but I just won't do that
I would do anything for love
Anything you've been dreaming of, but I just won't do
But I'll never stop dreaming of you
every night of my life, no way
But I would do anything for love
But I won't do that
Oh, I won't do that
Will you raise me up? Will you help me down?
Will you get me right out of this godforsaken town?
Can you make it all a little less cold?
I can do that
I can do that
Will you hold me sacred? Will you hold me tight?
Can you colourise my life, I'm so sick of black and white?
Can you make it all a little less old?
I can do that
Oh I can do that
Will you make me some magic with your own two hands?
Can you build an emerald city with these grains of sand?
Can you give me something I can take home?
I can do that
I can do that
Will you cater to every fantasy I got?
Will you hose me down with holy water, if I get too hot?
Will you take me places I've never known?
I can do that
Oh, I can do that
After a while you'll forget everything
It was a brief interlude and a midsummer night's fling
And you'll see that it's time to move on
No, I won't do that
I won't do that
I know the territory, I've been around
It'll all turn to dust and we'll all fall down
Sooner or later you'll be screwing around
I won't do that
No, I won't do
Anything for love
Oh, I would do anything for love
I would do anything for love
but I won't do that
No, I won't do that
Meat loaf when asked in an interview on UK tv around the time of this tracks release, what "that was" replied along the lines that we all have one thing that we would not do for a loved one, and the "that" is individual to the individual
Also:
"I'll never forgive myself if we don't go all the way tonight / I would do anything for love / But I won't do that.
"I'll never stop dreaming of you every night of my life / I'll do anything for love / But I won't do that.
"I'll never forget the way you feel right now / I will do anything for love / But I won't do that
Beautiful song makes me feel the way it always did❤
He does say what he does and doesn’t do for love by answering questions look at the lyrics to the song but my favorite part is the ladies part anyway here’s the lyrics:
Some days it don't come easy
Some days it don't come hard

I've heard this song so many times but still get major goosebumps every time!
I think he's saying he would do anything for love except corrupt the one he loves
