(From Florida) I grew up eating these because my neighbor had an entire backyard of them and always had too many so she’d place bins of them outside for free 😌
I love these! Tip: After slicing them, place them flat with some space in between each one (in either a ziplock bag, vacuum sealed bag or the eco-friendly non- plastic ones) in the freezer for at least an hour for a cold, refreshing and natural snack. You can also make a drink called "bebida de carambola" which is like lemonade. (Mosltly water, ice, pureéd and strained starfruit, and sweetner as desired. I add fresh sliced white grapes, red ripe watermelon, strawberries and cucumbers in a family size pitcher for the ultimate hot day beverage) Thanks again, Matt! You're awesome.
Thank you! So many times I ask a question, then watch a ridiculously long video to not have my question answered. This was short, succinct, and answered my question. Thank you.
@@malihairshad5261 Plant your star fruit tree in a fully sunny spot for optimal plant growth and fruit production. Although the carambola tolerates various soil conditions, this tree prefers rich, loamy soils with pH levels ranging from 5.5 to 6.5. You should also choose an area that has good drainage and protection from high winds.

Thank you for this video! I have a small tree my mom grew from seed and gave to us. We babied it for years!! Funny story, my mom gave it to us saying it was kiwi😂😂. Never thought to look into how kiwi grow lol. Anyways we carried this thing in a pot cross state through a move and everything, sometimes wondering if it was just a weed we were growing. Then one day BAM it produced. Hundreds of starfruit!! This little tree (I keep it cut to about 5-6 feet) produces several times a year and many many fruit. Like bunches of grapes. The problem is no one in my house likes them. I try to harvest and at least put them at the end of our driveway for neighbors to enjoy so they don't go to waste. Then today I watched your video and actually found out the proper way to cut them. MUCH better!! I harvested my first one for this season and cut it like u said. It was delicious! What a big difference that makes! I'll try making juice too like some suggested and of course I'll still share. There's just too many. If any of you like this fruit and are able to, grow it! It's so easy and not that much maintenance. Ours is in the ground in FL. Was in a pot before we moved. Thanks again for the video.
That is awesome!! So many exotic tropical fruits you can grow in Florida. Glad you like the starfruit. It is one of my all time favorite fruits. They do grow really well here in AZ if "babied" properly.
Nothing will beat a strawberry for me as far as fruit goes. haha. Yeah, the texture is nice. These taste better fresh off the tree. As opposed to the storebought ones. Kind of like the mangoes we get here in the States, don't compare to the fresh mangoes right of the tree from the tropics. haha

For some reason in Michigan they had stopped selling them at my grocery and I couldn’t find them for years up until recently when I noticed they had a tropical fruit section in my grocery and I was so excited. I bought a bag full and it brought so many childhood memories
You should make Starfruit juice I made some and it tasted really good! Just put some slices of Starfruit in your blender, add a little bit of water and sugar and then after you blend it you use a strainer to strain out the pulp and you have Starfruit juice!
