Pomegranates actually have rough sections, in a star shape. If you look on the bottom you can sometimes see where to cut--if you cut them in the right spots, it's pretty easy to pull out whole chunks of seeds at a time
important note about the prickly pear, the one he sliced in this video already had the spikes removed, if you find one growing you need to remove them yourself (you can find methods online) and DO NOT touch it before you have, even if it doesn't look like there are spikes where you're grabbing there are incredibly small ones covering the entire thing in addition to the big ones that you can see, use tongs instead if you find one in a store it probably has the spikes removed already
I found this out the hard way the first time I harvested them. My favorite method so far has been to harvest them with tongs, burn off the quills, then wash, peel, scoop out the seeds, and eat. It's a hassle, but the store-bought ones taste terrible in comparison, lol.

Frank, I could watch you all the day long. You mentioned that the kiwi berries were adorable...well, I think YOU are the adorable one with a great smile and terrific sense of humor!! Oh, and I watch most, if not all of your cooking videos.
David Munir it’s a real video about how to cut pomegranates. I’m not trying to be like one of those lame boys I swear. It’s a family channel I think and it’s like a minute long and it shows how to cut a pomegranate.
And that's not even the best way... You almost never touch the seeds with knife after step 1. Step 1: Cut the top off the pomegranate. Step 2: You see compartments (like a star). Score along the lines (vertically) top to bottom Step 3: Pry the slices open and start removing the seeds using your hands (fingers)
Here's a better way: Cut pomegranate in half and fill a bowl with water. Use your hands to remove every seed (it's actually super easy). The seeds sink, but the white film stuff will float, so ya just gotta skim off the top layer from the water, strain it, and yeah.
lyliiz i’ve never heard of that method for pomegranate. what i always do is take a paring knife, and cut down at an angle around the flower at the top to get that top stem part out, and from there it’s pretty easy to pull it apart into four sections of the fruit. it’s a little time consuming and messy to eat but i’ve always found it pretty rewarding in the end lol

The persimmon he was cutting was a non-astringent Japanese variety, surprised that he didn't know that. Those do not have the affect he was describing and you can eat them even with the consistency of an apple. For the pomegranate he stated he was going to show 2 ways, but only showed one, editing failed on that one hehe. Enjoyed the video.
Other method is scoring the outside along its quadrants (i think there is 5) and popping em open. Lot less mess, don’t cut into seeds, waste less juice.
@@MRCOLOURfilld six. I just watched a vid where they carefully cut off the top first so you can see where the lines go but you can kinda see it from the outside too.

the audience voice sounds like they’re being forced to be there
Clorox Bleach exactly
I see you everywhere-
Yeah, I thought the synthetic audience was satyrically hilarious!! Pretty sure it was recorded to intentionally sound inauthentic.
Fernando Andres Soto Coello it is America
If you speeded up will sound more funny
The persimmon he was cutting was a non-astringent Japanese variety, surprised that he didn't know that. Those do not have the affect he was describing and you can eat them even with the consistency of an apple. For the pomegranate he stated he was going to show 2 ways, but only showed one, editing failed on that one hehe. Enjoyed the video.
Everyone: wow those are some delicious fruits
Me: wow, what a sharp knife
yah I'm jealous seeing him cut those fruits easily 😭
@@IcefPr. right??! Lyk, even the pineapple that is naturally thick now looks like a paper
@@hungryeyes2786 right! It's so hard to me cut a pineapple, I'm surprise how easily is for him to cut it, I need this knife o.o

"I'm going to show you TWO ways to cut a pomegranate. 1. Cut in half and tap over a bowl." ORANGE! "This is an orange."
Lol ikr i was waiting for that second method
Other method is scoring the outside along its quadrants (i think there is 5) and popping em open. Lot less mess, don’t cut into seeds, waste less juice.
@@MRCOLOURfilld six. I just watched a vid where they carefully cut off the top first so you can see where the lines go but you can kinda see it from the outside too.
@@shoree4819 same
Ya that was kinda funny, I prefer cutting the top off and then scoring the white
chef: im gonna show you two ways to cut a pomegranate. heres the first way, and then-

chef: to cut a papaya, i like to use my knife
Usually when I eat something I just, put it in my mouth, and chew, and then swallow.
here, you can see a glass cup with some water in it. now, to drink it, you pick it up very carefully then proceed to shatter the glass cup on the floor, and drink the remains of the water with a straw.
@@vari6588 before we use the straw, were going to cut off the ends
