This is how many people wanna see the 2nd way of how to cut a pomegranate (Edit: Omg thx for all the likes! Never had so much in my 13 year life! Only if I had this many subs) | V
important note about the prickly pear, the one he sliced in this video already had the spikes removed, if you find one growing you need to remove them yourself (you can find methods online) and DO NOT touch it before you have, even if it doesn't look like there are spikes where you're grabbing there are incredibly small ones covering the entire thing in addition to the big ones that you can see, use tongs instead if you find one in a store it probably has the spikes removed already
I found this out the hard way the first time I harvested them. My favorite method so far has been to harvest them with tongs, burn off the quills, then wash, peel, scoop out the seeds, and eat. It's a hassle, but the store-bought ones taste terrible in comparison, lol.
I just bought a bunch of fruits ro prepare for a smoothi cleanse and this video was really helpful for me. Thank you for saving me time and a bunch of youtube searches, its much appreciated! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Pomegranates actually have rough sections, in a star shape. If you look on the bottom you can sometimes see where to cut--if you cut them in the right spots, it's pretty easy to pull out whole chunks of seeds at a time
I so much needed this vid. I retired to tropical Mexico and the variety of fruits that I’ve never encountered before is staggering. Just finding out what they are is amazing. But seeing how to process them is like icing on the cake.
I just watched Lockstin & Gnoggin explaining every single pokemon Berry vs Real life berries and now I watching a guy of how to cut every fruits. I learn so much today!
Frank, I could watch you all the day long. You mentioned that the kiwi berries were adorable...well, I think YOU are the adorable one with a great smile and terrific sense of humor!! Oh, and I watch most, if not all of your cooking videos.
Here's a better way: Cut pomegranate in half and fill a bowl with water. Use your hands to remove every seed (it's actually super easy). The seeds sink, but the white film stuff will float, so ya just gotta skim off the top layer from the water, strain it, and yeah.
lyliiz i’ve never heard of that method for pomegranate. what i always do is take a paring knife, and cut down at an angle around the flower at the top to get that top stem part out, and from there it’s pretty easy to pull it apart into four sections of the fruit. it’s a little time consuming and messy to eat but i’ve always found it pretty rewarding in the end lol
I feel really blessed that most of these fruits we grow on our houses or they are available where I live and they are really delicious and sweet unlike the ones in the video also I noticed I cut most of the fruits just like the chef did naturally without learning it from somewhere
Technically the title is correct! Lol with this knowledge you can cut every fruit. You don't need a demonstration of *every fruit* if fruit is made of of groups of similar fruits. If you learn to cut one fruit, you can translate that knowledge to any and all similar fruits. If you know how to cut oranges and grapefruit, you pretty much know how to cut every citrus fruit. If you know how to cut a melon and a squash, you can cut any melon or any squash. It says " *How to* cut every fruit. " not " *We cut* every fruit." Lol I'm not being pedantic lol I'm just kidding. There were actually a few I was curious about that didn't show up, and a few I've never seen before. I've never seen inside a durian, and I've only known dragon fruit as a voltfruit in Zelda Botw lmao (Omg fruit has no meaning anymore. If I think or type "fruit one more time! .... AHHH FRRUUUIIIT! FROOT. FREWT. GAH. I broke my brain!)
The persimmon he was cutting was a non-astringent Japanese variety, surprised that he didn't know that. Those do not have the affect he was describing and you can eat them even with the consistency of an apple. For the pomegranate he stated he was going to show 2 ways, but only showed one, editing failed on that one hehe. Enjoyed the video.
You have to put it in water, and break it apart there! The seeds sink and the part you dont eat (flesh apparently) floats Edit: to specify, cut it in fourths and just kinda rub the seeds off in the water. Just incase someone wanted to know
There is a trick to cutting a pomegranate where you cut off the top and the bottom and then a shallow slice through one side of the skin. It should then unfold, exposing the pearls in their individual mountains.
The way he did show it wasn't even an efficient way. Smacking it with a spoon would leave much of the seeds still stuck inside. From my experience you just have to use your hands to take out all the seeds.
Well he didn’t do: Lychee Tomato Atis(this is filipino sorry i rlly don’t know the English of it) Manzanitas And Lansones Edit: Horned melon Jímaca Kohlrabi Soursop Ackee Chayote Salak Swiss cheese plant Custard apple Java plum Star apple Chico/naseberries Pomelo Asian pear Kumquat Breadfruit Guava Coconut(lmao its gonna be hard but its a fruit though) Calamansi(this it a small lemon/lime in the philippines) Sapodilla Meyer lemon Tamarillo Tamarind Lotus flower Orange-limes Goji berries Peruvian groundcherry Jabuticaba Capuacu African horned cucumber
It seemed like he was cutting most of his citrus using the "supreme" cut. Basically the chef's way. I do not know when you would need to cut a lemon like that either. I've seen tangerines and oranges cut that way. Very messy and juicy.
yes, very unepic ): but you kinda just cut the top off that has the little pokie crown thing and follow the white "veins" to have a cleaner product ((:
The second way is to cut in half and submerge the half in a large bowl of water. Then, while submerged, you work out the seeds with your hands, the seeds sink and the pith floats to the top. Skim off the pith and you have already rinsed pomegranate seeds! Bonus, no pomegranate juice or seeds flying everywhere like the whacking method. This was how I was taught in culinary school, but he’s right, both methods work.
TooMuchWillPower theres nothing wrong with their grammar, just their spelling, which mocks how you speak, so clearly they have some sort of an accent or they were being informal (it is a comment section afterall) so please grow up. thats not how ocd works at all, you sixth grader.
And that's not even the best way... You almost never touch the seeds with knife after step 1. Step 1: Cut the top off the pomegranate. Step 2: You see compartments (like a star). Score along the lines (vertically) top to bottom Step 3: Pry the slices open and start removing the seeds using your hands (fingers)

This is the first time I saw lemon being cut like this.
Cut ❌
Waste ✅
It seemed like he was cutting most of his citrus using the "supreme" cut. Basically the chef's way. I do not know when you would need to cut a lemon like that either. I've seen tangerines and oranges cut that way. Very messy and juicy.
Did it all the time in my culinary class, was my favorite cut of all time, don't know why, it's just fun, lmao.
Same
@@amirabouzid3617 bruh what bruh
英語の勉強で観させて頂いています〜フルーツの断面美しすぎてずっと観ていられる😊
I like how he's consistent with pulling everything out from behind the pineapple, including a second pineapple
Okay Frankp
Okay Frank
Okay Fran
Okay Fra
Okay Fr
So nobody’s gonna talk about how he didn’t show us the second way of cutting a pomegranate? ;(
Edit: That’s a lot of -damage- likes!
yes, very unepic ):
but you kinda just cut the top off that has the little pokie crown thing and follow the white "veins" to have a cleaner product ((:
Lol that’s what I was saying
Did you wanna know the second way?
That Dude Ant omg thanks I was wondering what was happening like is he taking a break or something
he did it incorrectly regardless... lol
Everyone’s talking about how the background voices are annoying, but can we talk about how Frank uses a hammer?
sideways
Yeah... I never in my life did I expect to see someone misuse a hammer
You can definitely tell that he doesn’t belong in the architect field from this
Noah Huckleby
Lmao 😂
He want to smash as mant space so he smash with side
Thank you Epicurious, thank you chef Frank. This was very informative
The audience sounds like they’re being held at gun point

Aramis Magana 🤣🤣🤣🤣
what did this man put in my drink. why can’t i stop watching how to cut every fruit
If I see anyone cut a lemon like that, we throwing hands
Exactly
It’s for restaurants never at home unless you make a specific dish.
I cut my lemons like that so I can eat them :/
@qtcado that's a big rip
Its a supremo cut, meaning only the good part of the lemon. For cooking and for restaurants
“This, is a lemon”
Me: *surprised pikachu face*
"Dear God..."
haw mah gawd
*I'm so glad he mentioned a lemon cause I've never heard of that before*
It was a surprise for me as a brazillian since we call your Lemon lime and your lime lemon
Limon and lime are kind of inverted in some places. In Peru we call limón to lime.
“I’m gonna show you 2 ways to open a pomegranate” *shows only one way*
They probably *CUT* the second way out ;D
Duda Helena lmao
The second way is to cut in half and submerge the half in a large bowl of water. Then, while submerged, you work out the seeds with your hands, the seeds sink and the pith floats to the top. Skim off the pith and you have already rinsed pomegranate seeds! Bonus, no pomegranate juice or seeds flying everywhere like the whacking method. This was how I was taught in culinary school, but he’s right, both methods work.
@Ichigo UzumakiPlease fix your grammar, if you please would. No offense, it just gets onto my (OCD)
TooMuchWillPower theres nothing wrong with their grammar, just their spelling, which mocks how you speak, so clearly they have some sort of an accent or they were being informal (it is a comment section afterall) so please grow up. thats not how ocd works at all, you sixth grader.
Compulsive fruit eater here. This is VERY helpful.
Frank: I’m going to show you two ways to process a pomegranate.
*Doesn’t show two*
The second method was the cross hatch method
@@colebecker07 crap sorry i thought of a avocado
And that's not even the best way...
You almost never touch the seeds with knife after step 1.
Step 1: Cut the top off the pomegranate.
Step 2: You see compartments (like a star). Score along the lines (vertically) top to bottom
Step 3: Pry the slices open and start removing the seeds using your hands (fingers)
@@truthShallPrevailRRVS i always use that method, no waste and nothing good is thrown away.
his method is low effort and lots waste.
Ali Mohamed he’s showing the chef method, sometimes they have to be quick and whoever’s eating if won’t know how much is missing anyway.
Epicurious: **annoying VoiceOver**
Everyone: “thanks, i hate it.”
