Retiring in December; live out of state and planning on moving to Kerrville. I hv visited there a couple times and really enjoyed the Beauty and friendliness.
Tour 50 random Texas towns and you will see that Kerrville is nicer than most. People from all over the state want to retire to the Texas hill country and Kerrville is usually their first choice. Fredericksburg and Boerne are nice too but have turned into expensive tourist traps that are starting to alienate their home grown locals. There's no real good rock-n-roll bar with live music in Kerrville. Southway Pub used to have live music. I always liked the Nautilus Beach Bar before they tore it down. A true dive bar! Best BBQ in town? Made on my pit at my house bar none. Wife and I have talked about opening a BBQ place in Kerrville but probably will never happen... lol. I'm one of the houses up on 2 acres on Medina Hwy just past River Hills. We plan to sell in a few years and go fulltime RVing. Hopefully the market holds up.
Kerrville is definitely a top pick for people wanting to retire! You are spot on about Fredericksburg and Boerne. It’s mind blowing how high the real estate prices have gotten there. Don’t hesitate to reach out if I can ever be of assistance! 830.890.1943
@@good.n.private I was at an HEB in Austin this past weekend and omg there was so much litter in the parking lot! 😩😩😖 my friend mentioned it was homeless people but I didn't see any there at 6am in the morning and I truly believe its all them ghetto Californians invading the city instead that are littering. Don't Mess with Texas!
I know a little run down bar on the street where the Doyle center is 😭 that’s the only one tho. But all jokes aside tho, I love living in Kerrville it’s just so beautiful and everyone here is nice
I’m interested but gotta know - why did someone cut down the Founders Oak? That’s so sad. How could that be allowed? And… Why are the property taxes so high? Will there be drinking water into the future? What are the additional annual costs of all the chemical treatment of the presently sulfurous water? Please reply. I love the friends I have in Kerrville and I want to be near them but these above are my very real concerns. Thank you, Ryan. PS I greatly appreciate your wonderful assessment. And this… the values of the houses - why so high if they aren’t moving? I do see them coming down but have to compare to Hot Springs AR for example - 225k gets a beautifully renovated historic home with taxes under 300 a month. I know. I know - it’s not the Texas Hill Country. And there is, of course, something very important to being near friends and family. I look forward to your info. Thanks!
Kerrville is a nice place but if you do move here, be careful about hiring a contractor. The one I hired stole from me. He seemed like a decent guy but when I started digging into the books because there were “delays” and “new problems,” I found out what he was doing. Just watch every penny and check every receipt. Edit: I was also double charged by a plumber here in Kerrville. Get everything in writing and don’t be afraid to sue.
Hello! It depends on the location but based off of my experience, the Guadalupe River is a little more clear than the Pedernales River in my opinion. I may see if I can get in touch with a biologist and get their opinion on it. The water in NB is more clear from what I've seen.
Canyon Lake/ New Braunfels has clearer water but not by much. Landa Park in New Braunfels is fed by a natural spring. Now the Llano river near Uvalde has crystal clear water. Fredericksburg has the same water as Kerrville, no difference in my opinion.
Kerrville Pro: everyday sunny sky's and cool hill country breeze. Con: No Super HEB+ store, wich is ironic considering this is the town HEB originated from and has a population of roughly 25k. But Bulverde on the other hand gets an HEB+ the size of Taj Mahal and they only have roughly 6-10K people in their area.😕
@@ladycactus110 You must not be from Texas. HEB is a Texas based large chain grocery store that all others like Kroger and Randalls can't compete with. HEB reigns supreme here in Texas!
@@4eyefoxbodyfanclub625 thanks! I’m considering relocating from my Blue city/Blue State of criminality right next door to a midsized town in Texas. I’m retired but very active. Any suggestions?
Yeah, no one should move there. Every one should stay away! Especially if you are from out of state… in fact you should stay out of Texas all together.
If you are a liberal democrat, yes move to Kerrville now, like immediately. If you are a conservative, you will NOT fit in. Remember don’t accidentally walk on private land, with a gun, you’ll be doing 7 years in a state pen. Pick a wild flower 2 nights in jail. Pick an apple and you ass is theirs. People are very well behaved in Kerrville, because the constable enforces all 10,000 bullshit ordinances. One constable told me, if I avoid him I’m breaking the law. So go ahead move to the people’s republic of Kerrville.

Looks like Kerville is on its way to being just as expensive as Fredricksburg
It's starting to look that way to be honest.
Austin is being taken over via Big Techb😢

Too bad he didn’t respond. Those were my questions too. I didn’t get a “feel” for the town from this video. Still seeking.
Have a weekend house there, I really enjoy less traffic and better drivers as opposed to Lakeway where I do live .
Hopefully it stays that way!!
I live in Texas I love it here
Condolences to the family of the people who lost their lives a couple days ago at the racing event. RIP 😭🙏
That was absolutely terrible. They could use all the prayers they can get.

Hate to hear that! If anyone needs a reliable contractor just let me know!
Excellent video buddy!
Much appreciated!!
That's perfect I don't drink and eat lots of BBQ
We have a fair amount of BBQ joints. My favorite personally is Buzzies bbq.
Which town has clearer water? Kerrville or Fredericksburg? And is it as clear as New Braunfels or San Marcos?

Property is "fairly" high. Wow!
Yes, our median sales price in Kerrville is much higher than other parts of the state.

HEB plus would be great... but I don't see that happening. Possibly a target, but who knows.
