TCM needs a TV/Console app!
Double Indemnity, a perfect Film Noir. Great pick! Barbara Stanwyck, Fred MacMurray, and Edward G. Robinson all give tour de force performances.
Diner is so unsung these days. It’s great to see TCM breathing new life into it and expanding its audience by airing it multiple times over the past year.
I think what makes the film unique is that it’s a mid-life coming of age feature: the men are a bunch of overgrown boys who cling to their youth and forestall the onset of maturity both by frequenting their old stomping grounds and by neglecting to address some of the harsher truths of their lives, whether it’s marrying too young, day drinking, habitual gambling, infidelity or blurring the fine line between friendship and romance.
Its dialogue-centered dynamics and pacing could also be considered a precursor to Seinfeld, early Tarantino features, and even a good deal of Richard Linklater’s early output, namely in terms of how the characters seemingly inconsequential bantering and bickering about subjects of a tangential nature in fact reveal most of what you need to know about their personalities and inner lives.
Reitman's Up in the Air is a modern day Apartment! Great director and great picks for april
I agree with him totally about Double Indemnity. The language is perfection. The banter, the first time you see Stanwyck, everything!!
Double Indemnity was badass. Excellent cast, directing, writing, and lighting. 🎥
I like the original Bad News Bears, but I actually enjoy the 1st sequel, The Bad News Bears in Breaking Bears, even better. It's pure 1970s quiche.
The Zatoichi film series.
Thanks for the tips Jason. 🤩
Thanks For The Ghostbusters Jason
diner & lenny are both underrated classics
Reitman is a damn good director in his own right. Great picks.
Young Adult is a damn good picture!Love how it brought out Teenage Fanclub's The Concept!Godhead Genius,God Bless The Fannies!:)
Hold the popcorn!
Bob Fosse is very much one of the great choreographers of all-time, but also one of the greatest FILM DIRECTORS just like Billy Wilder, Michael Schultz, Harold Ramis, Hitchcock and the rest. Please stop overlooking that...
Oh yeah. Michael Schultz is right up there with Wilder, HItchcock, Polanski, Allen and the rest. Ramis could probably give Tarkovsky and Godard a run for their money, too. Let's add Nora Ephron and Jerry Lewis as well, two of the best horror film directors of the last century.
@@TheVid54 I didn't mention Polanski or Allen wtf are YOU talking about??
@@bOmBAsTiKStop being so edgy. Hitchcock abused women and was a voyeur. How about that?
@@jeshkam WTF are you weirdos talking about?? Reitman mentioned Bob Fosse and my comment is about HIM geez...
All That Jazz is the Shiznit!"It's ShowTime!"The best Roy Scheider since Last Embrace,Jaws,Marathon Man:)
