How refreshing to hear someone say they love their family. She is a sparkle and so sweet
Billie Lourd is a very lucky young woman. I know she lost her mother and grandmother early but, she still has that legacy! And that's quite a legacy.
And she has the $$$ - and never "earned" a penny of it!
@TomSnyder-gx5ru so inheriting from her family is her fault how?
@@anbraiii4798 WHAT?
Lovely young woman. Clearly, the forces of her mother and grandmother are with her.
Dumbest Star Wars reference ever
@@michaelstacey8303 No. I liked that. Because it's true.
@@andreaandrea6716 again! The dumbest Star Wars reference other! There is no truth in your silly statement as the force does not exist
@@michaelstacey8303 Just because you are colour blind doesn't mean that there is no colour. There most certainly IS a great Force in the Universe. Just LOOK AROUND YOU. Life itself is an EXTRAORDINARY and insane miracle. If you are so jaded and stupid as to not be able to get that, then I am infinitely sorry for you.
Great comment!
she seems like a lovely, fun young woman. So sorry she lost her mum and grandmother at the same time. terrible loss.
This was perfect. She was excited, positive and well prepared. She would be a great host. Thank you and best wishes to Billie.💜🦋🌟
In the seventies I saw Debbie's show in NYC. Everything in the show that could go wrong did.
Costume malfunctions The screen brought down to show her movies wasn't working.
This was where I really learned the word Trooper. If I remember correctly she did apologize. But of course she was amazingly entertaining. Brought up in a time when The show must go on no matter what! and you felt it. I loved her even more after seeing that show.
@@leighewinson9473 My mom saw Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher in Irene in 1972 when she was in High School.
Her grandmother was jewel. Both mother and grandmother were great actresses. And this young lady is following in their footsteps.
What a great idea to have a tribute to Debbie Reynolds. I always thought she wasn't celebrate/recognized enough upon her death; perhaps because of the close circumstances with her daughter. I always thought my mother would have been upset, thinking Debbie Reynolds didn't get enough recognition upon her death too; she was certainly an important star!
She's fantastic. I definitely see both her mom and "Abba-Dabba" (love that she called her that) in her-not just in her looks but also in her personality.
It’s great to get to know Billie a little better, and what a great interviewing job from the great Dave Karger.
Great interview. Just a note to say how much I cherish TCM. I love old movies from 30s and 40s especially; always have even as a kiddo. Don't know what drew me to them, but through TCM, I have a treasure trove of these gems. Not all of them sparkle, but even the cubic zirconia ones fascinate me. Thanks to Ted Turner for starting this and saving these oldie but very goodies for me to enjoy.
Billie is lovely and so genuine.
And so humble. ❤
So happy that Billie has a family of her own now and is carrying on her mother's and grandmother's legacies.
God bless this beautiful charming young woman. She does her grandmother and mother proud! ❤️
I'd do my grandmother/mother proud too if I had the inherited million$ she raked in for just "being here!"
@@TomSnyder-gx5ruWhat a crass statement. I’m sure she would rather have her grandmother and mother back and doesn’t need a financial incentive to make her proudly represent her grandmother.
Billie was so funny and inventive in "Booksmart"- she did her her family name proud. Great to hear her reflect on her "Aba Daba" here.
Yes!😃 She also cracked me up in Scream Queens with her very blasé attitude and earmuffs for every outfit in every episode.😂🤣😂
So great in Booksmart
Singing in the Rain was boot camp for Debbie!
Absolutely wonderful that she’s introducing her grandmother’s amazing work to her son at such an early age and keeping that legacy alive. ❤
What a charming young woman! An often overlooked movie with Debbie Reynolds is Athena (1954) along with Jane Powell. The dance routine in the number "I Never Felt Better" is a marvel to watch! I created the subtitles (with song lyrics, too) for the movie, when before there were none. I hope that Billie Lourd has seen it!
How The West Was Won - a fav Debbie Reynolds film of mine
What a stunning young woman.
I'm grateful she shared a bit of her life with us
What a fantastic interview! I've loved Debbie Reynolds since I was about 8 years old and saw Singin' In The Rain for the first time, and I've never stopped. I saw her mom in Star Wars around the same time. Her family is my family, as far as I'm concerned. Very cool lady Billie has grown up to be, Debbie & Carrie would be beyond proud!
Billie is definitely Debbie's granddaughter ❤️ love Debbie Reynolds ❤I was named after her🎉
She looks just like her in Debbie's younger photos! Billie's so strong.
What a wonderful interview! Billie Lourd seems like a lot of fun!
It's easy to be "a lot of fun" when you get to live off of millions of mommies/grandmother's inherited $$ that you never had to work for!
@@TomSnyder-gx5ru Hmmm seems to me I've seen her do a lot of her own projects. That involves WORK and not just living off inherited money. Plus she seems to have integrity. When a certain family member was selling fake items, she distanced herself immediately. Very sad that happened, but it shows she valued honestly of earning money off her Mom's name. And now she is married with 2 young children. So I think it's great if she is currently directing most of her time to them!!! And don't forget, her Dad is one of the Hollywood's most successful agents. So yeah, she is lucky financially. But I'd wager a bet she'd rather be broke and have her Mom back!
@@ellenw391 💯 and her Grandmother, too. ❤
@@TomSnyder-gx5ruwhat have you done with your life again? its rather pathetic replying to multiple comments peeved that someone is better fixed financially then you are.
She's lovely❤
Such a great interview! My families trivia with Singing in the Rain is that my Grandpa was in the crew in the rafters controlling/pouring the rain on Gene Kelly! The other connection is that my Grandpa’s name was Eddie Fisher (true story!) 😊
I am normally pretty good with words but this left me bereft. What an amazing family and I will root for Billie at every turn!
Dave you have been such a good add to this channel. All of you hosts helped us when Robert passed. I love this channel so much. I wish I could afford to come to the events but am lucky to see them on tv.
Surprised they didn't mention The Unsinkable Molly Brown. 😊
Or Tammy Or A Catered Affair Or Debbie’s Vegas Shows
Sounds like Billie was prepared to talk for a long time about her grandmother - but didn't get the chance..
Her love for her mama and her abba dabba is beautiful. Those ladies are so dearly missed.
Billie, is a beautiful, nice person. Love, Debbie Reynold's movies, what a talent. Enjoyed, the interview so much. Good job! ❤
I loved The Singing Nun. I remember watching it on TV when I was a kid.
I used to watch Singin’ In the Rain with my mother and grandmother too. They used to air it on TV as the Saturday matinee on a pretty regular basis when I was a kid in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. I spoke about that experience in a eulogy I gave for my mom who happened to pass within days of Debbie Reynolds. It’s one of my all time favorites. The amount of sheer joy that film still brings to me is unparalleled. Long live Debbie Reynolds.
💖
What a lovely young lady. Thank you for a great interview.
I read all of Carrie’s autobiographies. Despite whatever was going on in her life, her relationship with Billie was the most important thing to her.
Loved Debbie when I was a younger man. Loved Carrie, when both of us were about the same age. And love Billie, as she came through being a 'Hollywood brat' and, though not the big star they were, has a working career of her own.
What a charming person. Never seen her interviewed. She is so grounded.
Debbie was brilliant and Carrie was a literary genius!
Star filled generations!
Recall Eddie and Debbie as America’s sweethearts 🥰❗️
Great interview! She’s got that vibe from her mother and grandmother! Go Billie!!
Lovely, engaging interview. She’s smart, funny, charming. Wish her all that she wishes for.
Bless her heart . I see a lot of Debbie and Carrie in her the force continues to b strong with this fam .
I like her! Very natural and clearly so proud of her legacy. ❤️
Billie Lourd is so beautiful.
My son also loved Make 'Em Laugh when he was that little!
Such a great interview, both Billie and Dave. A joy to listen to.
Debbie Reynolds is one of my favorite stars. She did have a beautiful singing voice and she was an excellent dancer. I have always admired her as a person. I think she was a very kind, compassionate, tenacious, caring, tough, loving woman and a survivor with a great sense of humor. She was a very versatile and talented performer and a classic movie star. The world could benefit from more people with her character, work ethic and perseverance. You are missed Ms. Reynolds by so many people who never got the chance to meet you in person but can relate to you and enjoyed your performances so much. You have left an amazing legacy. God bless you, ❤❤❤
⭐️🌟💫⭐️🌟💫
Sweet lady. Looks so much like her mom.
And acts like her. ❤
Thank you
This was wonderful, and Billie carries the torch well, for Debbie and for Carrie.
She also gets to carry their money - without Debbie the other two would be unknown!
@@TomSnyder-gx5ru I wonder how much was left from Debbie's end because she was in and out of debt due to her husbands irresponsibile behaviors.
Its refreshing to see Billie shine in her own right!!!😊
Oh I can hear Carrie Fishers voice in Billie…what an awesome thing…love this interview.
One of a kind, magnetic ladies; all 3 ❤
Well actually just one, Debbie Reynolds actually EARNED her money - the other two, not so much!
My mother named me after Debbie Reynolds’s. 😊
Debbie Reynolds's what? What does that apostrophe signify?
Debbie Reynolds is was and always will be Gorgeousness
that voice! sounds like Carrie. missing her deeply.
What a great and good human. Raised by great and good humans. ❤
Love all the Debbie Reynolds’s movies but this one is my favor one I don’t remember how many times I watched and TCM is a great channel
She's relatively nunnish. It'd be fun to see it. Some modern remake of "The Trouble With Angels". Somebody get me a meeting!
The BEST interview ever. Loved it
Many thanks to Dave and Billie! ⭐
Billie seems so sweet 😊
Great interview
I am such a Carrie Fisher fan. She was an amazing actress and author."Postcards from the Edge" is one of the greatest books ever written.
P.S. If you only saw the movie, you missed out on the real story.
Such a great star to tribute and such a talented family.

I had friends who brought me to see Debbie's one woman show for my birthday. We knew the stage manager and got to go backstage to meet her after. She was lovely and held my hand throughout our meeting. Best birthday ever! 💖
I loved The Gazebo. Very funny!
She seems so grounded and in a healthy place in her life. Her mom and Abadaba are smiling.
She sounds like her mother.
I adore Billie
Someone get Billie her nun role!
I think she'd be better playing the role of someone living large on inherited $ and never working a hard day in their lives - oh wait, she already plays that part!
@@TomSnyder-gx5rujealous much?
More of this please
I was at the bookstore where Carrie was signing books the day before she died, I didn’t want to bother her, now regret I didn’t tell her how wonderful she was….
Lovely woman. Good actress.
Your grandma was a great actress, for which she never got credit. I think it's because of all the tabloid crap she endured. For example, a movie she did with Albert Brooks, "Mother" was kind of dumb, but Debbie made the movie worth seeing. On one hand, she played it for pure comedy. "Protective ice" has become a catchword in my family ever since. I almost pissed my pants during that scene, because of Debbie's timing and delivery. I hadn't laughed so hard since Carol Burnett walked onto stage in a curtain rod. But later in the movie when her son finds her writing, she made me cry. Your mom was no slouch either, but you've got quite a legacy to live up to.
Delightful and captivating lady.
Sweetie, please sit-up straight-your old self will be so grateful!
Very noble, As is right. The ultimate would be, pick up the phone, "It's me Billie..." The rest is not ours. Listen. On we go.
My god is she adorable
Good 😊
billie: what can you say about how to mend a broken heart?
I know this is hard ask because its the love your grandmother felt for your mother
I can’t imagine the pressure placed on you when your family is famous.
I like Billie Lourde.
She looks just like Carrie
❤
No mommy dearest in that family and Carrie loved the nose candy and was clearly still an ok mum.
😊
This must be so sad for her because the only two people that were her family were those other grandmother, and now they’re gone
Yeah, I'm sure she cries her eyes out living large with mommies/grandmother's inherited $$$! Trust me, she'll be fine! There's a lot of people that lose their loved ones and have deal with it with A LOT less $$$$ than what she raked in!
Wow, so your grandmother was good at playing, make-believe. Fascinating. This is why our culture and society are collapsing before our eyes. Lack of wisdom.
Hey Kid Billie Big A$$ hugz be you just you!! Im inlove with Julian I love him only for Who he shows himself to be. And Your Mom in My Princess I want to grow up to be, Even at the age of 60ty!!!
There will never be her grandmothers class of actors. Never.
Why can’t all nepo babies be as genuine and modest?
Well. I guess personality & charm are bred out of this family line. Sad.
She didn’t invite her uncle, Debbie’s son, Carries beloved brother, Todd Fisher, to the Star placement for her mother. That was cruel, her grandmother would be ashamed.
Seriously? He was selling fake items after their untimely deaths. Who knows what else he did. She had every right. 🎤💥❤️
Billie sure has a high opinion of Billie. Really crappy of her to uninvite her uncle and aunts from Carrie's star ceremony because they "didn't mourn her the right way." Gag.
So it was ok that they did what they did? Pfffffftttttttt
Nepotism.
