I honestly think that umpires should be given specific instructions to punish players a lot harder when guys like Kyrgios, Paire and Putintseva start insulting them. For example, Fognini has a bad habit of asking umpires "are you drunk?" every time a call goes against him. On situations like those, there should be literal zero tolerance for direspect and disgraceful behaviour, and a point penalty should be immediately awarded for such cases. There's no other sport where players are allowed to act like that towards the referee. For some reason, in Tennis players are allowed to badmouth the umpire several times before being given the very first warning. Punishment should be a lot harder: you direspect the umpire in any way, you immediately lose a point and you're fined. If that was the case, players like Paire, Kyrgios and Putintseva wouldn't be able to turn games into complete shitshows. It's a weird sport: nobody is allowed to make a single noise during play, as form of respect towards the players, but players can get away with things that would result in immediate suspension in other sports.

I think Pouille had no point here because the umpire said no before Hurkacz convinced her. Saying "NO" was just part of the conversation as it was. All the things were before the judgment
Pouille was right. The umpire shouldn't have let Hurkacz have the challenge. He kept playing and when he missed th shots asked for the challenge. If he had made the point of course he would have been happy. Absolutely shitty decision from the umpire.
I disagree. Pouille's shot was out. If the officials had done their jobs properly in the FIRST place, Hubie wouldnt have been put in that position tp begin with. That never would have happened, BUT FOR the officials screwing it up to begin with. And then you'd like to compound one mistake with another one??? Where would the justice be?
@@bigrobsydney In a perfect world there wouldn't have been a mistake but unfortunately that is impossible. The rule is that if you are dubious about a ball, you need to stop the point and ask for the challenge. If you keep playing and then lose the point you can't go back to that ball, otherwise every single point would be unplayable and full of cheats by players. Here Hurkacz should have never been given the challenge. The umpire clearly favoured him and was not professional.
@@MarioBeart Rules are often used by people who are embarrassed, to hide behind, because of their mistakes. The fact is, the shot was out, and the point was over when that shot landed. Whatever happened after is neither here nor there, unless you want to invite umpires into incorrectly altering the course of matches due to their mistakes (and no one wants that - we want to see fairness, and correctness). Just imagine if someone lost a professional tennis match because of an officiating mistake? That could affect rankings, prizemoney, sponsorship, endorsements. This is blatantly wrong and unfair.
Simple: the shot was out, so the point rightfully goes to Hubi. The problem was the lines people, not the umpire. An electronic line would've immediately eliminated Pouille's unsound argument. 2025 can't come soon enough for increased accuracy in tennis.
Instead of smashing a top line racket, just give it to a young kid spectator dreaming of playing the game & you could do something good with your frustration.
I like Rublev but who actually looks up who has taken the most medical timeouts? First off, that isn't a stat one can look up. Monfils is great but yes, he does engage in trickery but he also is brittle and moves like no one else. Sandgren was so dramatic about the bounce pass from the ball boy. Ruud was a punk for getting a paying fan tossed for clapping. Clapping about double faults is not an ejectable offense. Finally, did this one umpire chair every single match that week?
How long after he clapped the double fault did he get removed? Was it right then and there? A warning at least. Many fans do it especially together but if it's one person doing it it's different?

Eso no puede ser hombre.
Wow the collagen on that abrasive anti-Khachanov spectator
This is why none of these players win very many competitions no discipline
Khachanov was right
Shitty move by Sandgren. Bet the ball kid didn't feel too good about himself...
Angry tennis players are very bad for the environment.
How appropriate, his name is Karen!
I just felt sad for Sandgren. Dude looks like he needs a hug.
All cheaters and simulators were eventually beaten.
