Hi Iona, I was over on Skye the week before you visited, with a group of photographers. In comparison, we were lucky with the weather, one of our party stayed an extra week (the week you were there) and she sent us videos of the change in weather. I taught her the word 'dreich', which summed up the weather. Although as we say, no such thing as bad weather, just wrong clothing! Thanks for sharing, great video brings back good memories!
@bobtaylor364 hi Bob, nice of you to message me and thanks for watching my wee video. I know the week before was good so you're lucky, bet you got great pictures I can just imagine. Ha dreich indeed, good description. You're right tho, be prepared with the right clothes, but make sure you can access them! Did you 7 the group go over to Raasay? Ix
@IonaMacinnes we didn't get over to Raasay, we were on a planned photo workshop run by Skye Photography. I was the only Scot on the group, was great to hear others comments about the majesty of Skye! I need to get to the other islands soon! 😊🏴
@bobtaylor364 people travel far and wide to take pictures of Skye, it’s amazing. I just think of the past generations and what they would think of how others now see their land. Looking towards Skye from Raasay is pretty cool, you’ll see it yet. Ix
Oh bless you Iona, well you mentioned 'Rona' even if you didn't go so I'll force my 'Oriella Rona' to watch this haha. You cracked me up trying to get out of ruining the photos with your pink jacket on 😆 and when the bird made you jump. I'd have been on my arse too I fall over at the drop of a hat, good on you for carrying on! I love hearing the Gaelic accent, do you speak it? Cos I hear you asking your mam about various words so I'm guessing she does. Can't wait for the Raasay film!
@vivellasmum ahhhhh I couldn't get a good look for you but you'll see for yourself one day and I'll be back fro one of those boat rides. Haha oh what a laugh, despite the weather it was great fun. Mum is a native Gaelic speaker, I am a native understander of Gaelic and I seem to be able to still read it a wee bit. Oh I'll get on the Raasay one this week, the film not the gin! Ix
@@IonaMacinnes have you got instagram? I thought I found you but looks like an account that's not used? I enjoyed the Sky vidio Iona, I recognised a lot of the places, i have been to Flora MacDonald cemetery, yes sky has spectacular scenery, thanks Iona.🙂❤

@wendym-mu5dw hey, I bet you recognised many places there but a lot quieter than when you were there I bet. Oh dont it was terrible, Stanley knife on return home and a bath. Yes, it was May when I was there. It was a sideways rain so the crowd was light. The worst came at Kilt Rock. I was so soaked, water wicked from my pants down into my boots....arrived back in Inverness late, went into Tesco, caught a glimpse of myself in the store window, and I looked like I'd been on a 3-day bender.😄 Still the best day. Looking forward to the next video.😊
Oh haha you got soaked at the same place as us, it was unreal wet there and I had loads of footage but I didn’t want the video to be too long so I cut loads out. I have a bottle of Torabhaig and it’s lovely, dare I say it it’s better than Talisker. Looking forward to seeing your visit to Raasay, only been the once but enjoyed my visit. I have a couple of bottles of different Raasay and they are lovely too. We went to the Co-op at Broadford and they stock Raasay Gin, nearly got one but we had spent enough. I want to go to Staffin Beach to spot the dinosaur footprints, hopefully this year. Another great video, thanks for sharing. Your enthusiasm for your travels is infectious.
@dieselbushcraft1299 oh I bet everyone knows that whisky and I dont have a scoobie. The tour of Raasay distillery was good but I couldn't bring myself t drinking the whisky, I did buy a bottle of the gin there tho. It's too bad the Museum of Highland Life was closed. It's worth a visit sometime as the different cottages are done up pretty well and give a slice of life then.
