I think the most fascinating aspect to me comparing Takumi and Takuru (related to the delusion aspect) is how both want an escapist fantasy but in different ways. Where Takumi just wants to escape from everything out of feeling like he could never be accepted, Takuru's escapist fantasy is being raised above and being treated like the most specialist and awesome dude ever. While both are different dreams and inform their characters and actions in different ways, they're both ultimately a rejection of being a normal person - which the games ultimately frame as an issue. The core thesis of both chaos games is that "being a regular person with people who care about you is great actually." and there's something really beautiful and resonant about that I think (especially through the medium of visual novels, typically geared towards a nerdy audience aka the type of people most likely to fall into the traps of Takumi's and/or Takuru's mindsets who could use that kind of messaging the most. And this comparison is coming from experience as a "nerdy" girl that had a bad case of "not like the other girls" mentality as a teenager which is just the girl version of Takuru's right-sider mentality). But yeah great video! I love chaos;child and Takuru so much
8:34 my main reason why Chaos;Child is so good. Its focused on age if information, propaganda and internet criticism. Questioning what are real and what are not real. Nono and true ending are perfect to end the VN.
Fantastic video! I think you have the greatest understanding of the writing and nuances of the series among all the youtubers who post about SciAdv. Regarding the music, Chaos;Child soundtrack is a masterpiece and while many pieces make it special (since you'd not find that many eerie or horrifying songs in other more modern SciAdv titles). For me what makes this OST shine is the main theme "World" and its variations. Her Worries or More Grief, for example, are the sad versions of the song, but they are still so different and full of power. Di-Sword of Sadness and Breakthrough are just absolute bangers. On a fun note, listening to the OST of Famicom Detective Club, the song "Memories" from the Girl Who Stands Behind presents the same motif as World. When I recognized this I checked the composer and indeed, the remasters were made by SciAdv composer Takeshi Abo. The original song was composed by Metroid's composer and it sounds veeeery close to World, but in the remasters Takeshi Abo made it even more similar. Famicom Detective producer says that it was an obsessed fan of the original games in Mages who insisted on Nintendo to produce the remasters and the sequel. Seeing the connection between Memories and World, I'd love to think it was Takeshi Abo though I have no proof for this.
Thank you for the immense words of praise! I really appreciate it. And gosh, the Chaos;Child soundtrack is fantastic - my second favourite in the series behind Anonymous;Code.
I finished Chaos;head noah and chaos;child recently and i haven't been able to stop thinking about Chaos;child specifically and out of all the sci;adv vns ive gone through it's definitely the peak for me.
Amazing video bro. Without your beginner's guide to SciADV i probably would have never gotten into SciADV or played Chaos;Child at all which is now my favorite piece of media of all time along with Steins;Gate. You've been carrying the english SciADV community recently, really.
I actually think it's BECAUSE Chaos Child is a 'filler" entry by a different writer. I much prefer it's character-focused writing and themes of humanity more than the plot, characters, and science-focused stuff of the other entries
Oh damn this was released 8 hours ago! Nice!!! I need to replay this again now that most of all the Science Adventure series are subtitled in English VN’s now.
i will correct u the individual routes help fleshing out the supporting cast which u wouldn't otherwise get in common route and takeru doesn't necessarily end up with them we get to learn about the comittee as well
arimura my beloved

I just want to say that I am extolled that you make these videos!! I hope you keep going.
Thank you!!! And yes, I plan to keep going!

Thank you so much! I can't tell you how happy hearing that makes me feel! I'm so glad that my Beginner's Guide video helped you get into the series!
16:00 also, Chaos;Child anime doesn't have Taneda Risa voicing Mio, so play the VN 👀
Sanada Asami's Voice still fit mio's character tho
12:59 I WILL NOT BE TAKING MY NORMAL PILLS

8:21 didn't know any of this
it's eyes is god's eyes
Chaos;World when?
My uncle works at Nintendo and he says that Chaos;World is coming out tomorrow, exclusively for the Google Stadia. Make sure you're first in line!
