  • Now that the ProDrive repairs are done and the combine can move on its own power, I’m finally getting the other repairs done that are needed to get the combine field ready. First thing I want to get done is replacing the feeder house conveyor chain then I get the longest service call ever from ‪@MillennialFarmer‬

    Awesome video Zeth! Many different ways to change a feederchain, I like your way but if it’s in the field you have to come up with different ways. That is a long service call all right! I sent a Tech to do 4 large updates on 5 New Holland 4WDs (made by Versatile in Winnipeg, Manitoba) There were two Farmers that bought there 4WD tractors at our dealership and they were just outside Edmonton, Alberta a 14 hour drive one way! 😳 The longest service call for that dealership! Looking forward to your next video keeping that green iron rolling! 👍👍

    I've seen chain tools that do exactly what you used those pliers for on linking the chains together. Now, it's about time nuts are used to for those links, hate dealing with cotter pins, specially when you can't get to them.
    Oh man, MF fixin time. Can't wait to see that. Cheers :)

    I feel your pain with the FH chain. I usually pull the cotter out of the clutch and turn the upper shaft to move the chain in and out of the FH opening. May need a second set of hands, but with the new chain going in the top, off a pallet on forks, the old one can drop to the floor. Hav eth FH most of the way down and it's easy peasy. Keep up the good work.

    It has always amazed me that someone would spend the kind of money it takes to get a machine like this and then not take care of it. Like preventative maintenance and daily inspections. Most, if not all, of the items on your punch list would've been caught in time before any major damage was done by doing daily inspections before operation. Also, I'm looking forward to your collaboration with the Millennial Farmer!

    • @tobinyackel1353
      @tobinyackel1353 2 роки тому +1

      It appears to me that all repairs, except for pump failure, was planned to be done after the harvest season. The pump failure was a unforeseen event while harvesting. There was no way the owner to do a post harvest cleaning before scheduled repairs.

    • @gardnermiller6820
      @gardnermiller6820 2 роки тому +2

      @@tobinyackel1353 I agree the pump failure is hard to catch and was probably sudden when it failed. However, all of the bearings that need to be replaced and the wear strips on the mid plate, those didn't just wear out during one season. Properly greased bearings don't just wear out and should last for years under normal use. I've seen this all too often over my years as a technician in both the agriculture and marine industries.

    Okay, iam fucking stoked to see you on the MF channel now. This will be a great mashup. Hope to see you do a mashup with Larsons too... Appearances on both could be huge for your channel - youre content is way better than 38k subscribers suggest. Get it! JD should be sponsoring this channel too. I think Welkers were ariybd 250k subs when CASE sponsored them ( and to my knowledge in addition to $$$, and equiptment to play/work with Case always pays to have their videos edited professionally - you do a good job editing but having a PRO do it would also take your production quality to the next level ) Anyways excited to see this happening, I really hope your channel prospers, its good information, you are clearly great at your chosen path and you seem to have a great worth ethic and a decent head on your shoulders. Would be cool for this little side youtube thing to turn into a difference maker for you.
