Klopp announced his exit too early. It created an unnecessary pressure on the team. All of a sudden, the talk was about Liverpool winning the quadruple on Klopp's final season
Nothing to do with Klopp, rival fans have been putting quadruple hype on us every season we start off well and consistently

Couldnt have said it better. This season has been an improvement compared to last season when Liverpool just missed out on top 4. Liverpool have top 4 pretty much secured and a trophy won also this season but apparently none of that matters now because were out of the title race..... Klopp announcing his departure from the club gave fans near impossible expectations and its massively backfired because fans wont look on this season for the posivities all they will think about is how Liverpool threw it away.
It was going to be out in the media sooner or later if he didnt announce it himself. He had to tell the board as soon as he decided so they could start planning for a season wirhout him and look at succsesors. He also had to tell the players, and they had to know before the media started spreading unconfirmed rumours.

As a Liverpool fan I think our problem is composure and being clinical when it matters we've thrown away so many chances and conceded many goals we shouldn't have, also VAR has screwed us over many times this season two of those being against title contenders Arsenal and City so for me there's a sense of being unlucky as well

When Hayes announced her departure at the end of this season, the club wanted the Quadruple, which included the (potential) Women's Champions League trophy, which was almost claimed in 2021, when the club got battered by Barcelona Femeni in the Final. However, in just 30 days, the club went from winning the Quadruple into going trophyless. Chelsea Women lost to Arsenal in the League Cup Final, lost to Manchester United in the Women FA Cup semifinal, being eliminated controversially by holders Barcelona (again) in the Women Champions League semifinal (despite handing Barcelona their first defeat at home after 5 years), and, after losing to Liverpool by the last minute winning goal, found themselves behind Manchester City in the WSL table. It's very surprising for this women's team of Chelsea, considering they had some best players like Matildas star Sam Kerr and a young English player Lauren James, but Kerr's long absence through ACL injury during the winter training camp would have impacted the team a lot.
Sorry if this is an off-topic. I don't really like women's football a lot, but the bad ending for Klopp's Liverpool and Hayes' Chelsea on their departures regarding the Quadruple Collapse would be hillarious.

This time last year we failed to qualify for the champions league and failed to win any major trophy. We have improved a lot this season. Winning a league cup is great, even if it’s the last trophy I wanted us to win, as well as qualifying for the champions league. Klopp is leaving us in a good place. He deserves more credit, especially when many pundits predicted we wouldn’t even get top 4
also ppl fail to realize that we lost so many of our long time players including our captain so to be in a title race with basically a complete new midfield is impressive itself let alone a quadruple

This Liverpool team were never meant to achieve what they have this season, completely rebuilt midfield that had only the pre-season to gel and numerous defensive injuries (including the GK) which saw Klopp's kids arise, aswell as some truly shoddy VAR decisions going against them in big matches (Diaz offside, Doku taekwondo on McAllister and Odergaard playing basketball in the area). You could say their season fell off the cliff, many would argue they shouldn't have been atop the cliff to begin with...

As a liverpool fan, i haven't felt this pain since losing to Madrid in the champions league.
Im also gonna say that the errors statustics are true just from watching the games, finishing attacking moves is just impossible for our front 3.
I also wanna say that with the "predictions" of pre season, we shouldnt even be title contenders. But we managed to go this far with a brand new midfield, and Macca, Szobo and Wataru settled really well....If the attack was mlre clinical, we would've been 1st by FAR.
Also lastly on the Salah part, im not too worried really.
With Nunez I now use reverse psychology, whenever he is about to shoot, I expect him to miss every single time so when he somehow manages to score I am always pleasantly surprised instead of other way around but that is rare nowadays.

A few valid points but with all the media noise someone should remind everybody that Liverpool were never favourites for ANY competition this year! The farewell quadruple would've been a dream but that's all it was to lfc fans, a dream, it was everyone else that hyped it up. Klopp came to a shit Liverpool side, had the balls to promise 1 trophy then won all of them, we've got the most major honours in England again and SAF was alive to watch it happen. Liverpool were favorites for the Europa league. A Liverpool player like Trent was on CNN talking about wanting to win the quadruple, it wasn't just their fans. Trent is a player who won everything really young, grew up supporting the club, when others say they want to make the last season special for Klopp I'd expect wanting the most from players like him. Unfortunately, despite being a big fan of your work, I'm only seeing this now.
I'm also a Klopper, he really changed our lives and left a mark on the identity of the club.
If I was writing this 8 days, we knew we were done in April, just a terrible month while the competition was just nuking everyone on a regular basis.
The reasons were mostly physical, we get too many injuries still without the depth of the super rich clubs. We often got complacent too, thinking we were mentality monster who will always come back.
At the end of the day, we had a freak shit month, hard to accept still.
As a Liverpool fan, I don't care if we win the Premier League now because of how many games we have lost, but I am just hoping for a top 4 finish
With all the injuries I never expected them to crack top 4 let alone get far in all their competitions

Liverpool fan here, I think up to that point we had overachieved anyway. At the minute arsenal and man city have better depth and I think that’s what killed us plus to many times we were relying on individual opposed to team performances. But as a Liverpool fan I really hope arsenal go on and win it, I can’t stand man city and their cheating
