I don't think it fed off their energy. An evil spirit doesn't necessarily need an outlet. It was there to torment the family. When the mom used the board it made it all worse. All they had to do was use the authority and power of Jesus and prayer and the Holy Spirit, and that spirit would have been gone. The guy at the end calling on st. Michael. God's angels can't do anything it's only by and through God's power.
But an evil spirit can exacerbate a person's personality through anger as seen in this story
Absolutely agree with you about being abused by your parents and it affecting you for life. Like you i was abused so many times as a child by my mother to the point i was scared to be around her when no one else was there. It was just horrible, as soon as i was old enough i was gone, 17 for Christ sake. Don't see my mother or farther anymore. Its been about 20 or so years and i feel at piece with myself and my own family. Its just horrible being abused by one of your parents while the other just does little to nothing to help. I felt for the 2 boys in the story.

This is a surprisingly common dynamic where moms are passive toward a more strict father disciplining the children.
What a horrible father, you can feel how it effected the brothers. They seem so vulnerable and broken. The father should have gone to therapy instead of abusing his kids. The youngest son is right, those entities feed on negative energy. And shadow man with glowing eyes is real. I have seen it many times when I was young, it never hurt me physically but I would often see it standing in the corner and staring at me and just disappearing quickly. I thought it was because of sleep paralysis but so many people have seen it too.

As soon as it was said to be the 1960's I knew that there wasn't going to be a lot of help around for those poor boys . And I should imagine that their father treated them worse than what is being shown here. It was so relieving to see them all grown up and able to enjoy their lives. Thank God Mr. Shadow man didn't want to leave home to persue either of them, they were very lucky in that respect .
My Father suffered from Asperger's Syndrome, epilepsy and blinding migraine headaches and was the most loving supportive perfect Dad you could hope for.......No excuses in parenting.
I know their father is suffering from past events in his life but he's supposed to care about his families anguish.

This is a very interesting episode! Cloaked humanoid beings have been spotted all over the North American forests. They have been reported by hunters, hikers and usually folks who spend a lot of their time in the woods. David Paulides have some very scary reports of this type of beings on his books (Missing 411).
So many of these stories have parents who don't believe their children. It's so sad. I could never call my terrified child a liar.

Dismissive parents like these are true. My mom and dad are best living examples, mostly my dad. Parents like these shouldn't even gotten married and never have children. I learned from this experience and will never pass this dismissivness to poor kids going through a trauma.

When I moved into a old house with my son and my partner and his children ,my son had his own room and he would run out of there with fear I knew that fear I had seen spirits when I was young.I moved him out straight away anyone who slept in that room would say never again so it’s a storage room now.Whenever we would see or hear things I say “Oh Fred , you again “ and we all just laugh I taught the kids not to fear and not bring negativity in the house.Ive heard stomping on the ceiling my husband says it’s a animal he would go away for work and we have heard a man laughing and coughing a few feet from us and we live on rural property so no one was there.So I gave it a name because I think it’s a man so his name is Fred and we laugh but not teasing it.And I pray.I feel really bad for those two men ,back then there was no internet the mother probably knew nothing but was trying.
If family members don't have courage to meet such person then at they should ask priest to do prayers for the redemption of that person's soul.

Even though he was a war veteran. Their home wasn't his warfield. Neither the kids his enemies. Their father was just evil. That's not disciplined. I have had family members in the military. But no one behaves like this with their kids.
Very well done true drama. It was good to see both Tim and Tom alive and give the testimony. Otherwise i would have been so worried about their life. I started to realize that people's negativity attracts and fueles the haunting entity, not all the case but definitely this family.

Probably that shadowman was the discarnate spirit of some one who drowned in the lake or died by some accident at the lake, initially boy was sleeping walking up to the lake and because of the ouija board invocation it could entered the house. Usually such discarnate spirits are drawing attention towards themselves and trying to communicate through their presence that they are in miserable condition and wants to get out of it, so if proper funeral ceremonies and prayers can be performed for them then they would be able to move on to world of light after attain the deliverance from their present condition. I don't think the boys came up against a human spirit or ghost . This was something from another evil dimension . It scratched the little boy in his bed and slammed his head against the wall so he broke his collar bones, as well as all the other terrifying things it did to them . Ghosts can be stroppy and scary but they don't usually inflict physical harm on people and they don't have a great deal of physical strength, even if they were not very nice people when they were alive. I'm glad we can now give war vets better treatment and understanding since the 1960s .
