Skeptics always say it is not scientifically possible that spirits, entities,demons and ghost exist, they don't believe in God either I guess.I would love for them to go on a real paranormal investigation, maybe Pennhurst, and try to explain that. Of course it was far more details in the book since naturally, everything that happened couldn't possibly be crammed into an hour long show. For every horror shown in this episode, there's at least ten or more in the book. This poor family went thru absolute hell... literally! I think their strong faith in God and family unity was how they were able to deal as long as they did!

Ok so I found it. Dr. Richard Gallagher M.D. he wrote a book about his career both as a psychiatrist and consultant to the church. The book is called "Demonic Foes" one thing I had wrong or not exactly right was that he wasn't a believer before. He was actually raised catholic but he strongly questioned his faith and everything about it, until he started working with the exorcists.

I gotta say, it's sometimes intense being Catholic. The demonic hates us especially because of The Holy Eucharist, which no other faith has avowed. This is a fine example of His Almighty power, and I'm glad to see this testimony. I especially liked the determination of the home owner and the calm certainty of the priest.
It is intense but there are a lot of things I do not agree with as far as the church. I was raised Roman catholic, baptized and confirmed 😂 I feel that they are very hypocritical. If u are divorced, had children out of wedlock, not baptized, and so on, u are not "a child of God or in a state of grace" I do not necessarily agree with that. Their way of thinking contradicts the message of Jesus christ! Remember Mary Magdalen? Remember the criminal crucified next to him? That is why I've stepped away from the church. Not my faith nor my relationship with the lord but organized religion, as I feel it is very flawed. The church I grew up in, my parents, aunts, uncle's and cousins were members of, and that my parents, aunts and uncle's attended catholic school at as well, refused to do my aunts funeral mass because she was divorced! At another family funeral they were giving the eucharist and the priest would nor give it to my 7 year old sister because she wasn't baptized and while I know that is a mandatory sacrament it wasn't so much that he did that but more so that he told my 7 year old sister she wasn't baptized and therefore not a child of God! What kind of man, priest, human says that? To a child no less! I honestly don't believe in original sin either. I agree with other Christians denominations who believe that baptism should be done when u are old enough to understand sin and your commitment to the lord and the sacrament of baptism. There are some things I just don't believe in or agree with. I also don't believe in the rapture 😂 catholics do not believe in it, They believe in a gathering after Christ's second coming but not the rapture. That's one thing I agree with 😅

The Holy Spirit is either always with us or never with us. Every one of us can and does go astray. Don't give up on The Holy Eucharist, either. It is an impossibly radiant gift God has given us, and it helps bind many wounds. I'm sure you remember the inner joy of spirit you felt as you walked your way back to your pew at Mass. That's not something you want to abandon for a quarrelsome argument over some personal slight.

My dad used to have night terrors when he was just a little guy. He had several other paranormal experiences as well and to this day, I believe he still senses things. I have known many Catholic Priests. The first one I ever remember meeting was a fella from Wales and at the time The Exorcist film was well known. I`d seen it - and it troubled me. Not so far as to drive me to unhealthy habits, but enough that I felt the film. I asked the Priest if he`d seen it. He said he had. I asked him it it affected him. He was the `Official` Exorcist of the Diocese of Newcastle and Hexam, Northumberland, UK. It may seem odd, but these chaps are amongst the most level - headed and emotionally resillient people I have ever known.
I think that if they were emotionally vulnerable and easily moved by what is going on, they couldn't have such role, when the least expected may happen.

I experienced the same thing as the daughter with a dark figure next to me and I couldn't scream. I am an Afghanistan veteran but nothing scared me more than that entity. I also have had a curtain fall down in the room next to my bedroom around the same month. I live in the Netherlands and the house used to be a household of an entire family of managers for the factory across the street. The house was built in 1906 anyone has any idea of what to do? My wife experiences activity alot more then I do.
First you need to find out if it's a demon or a human spirit. If it's human you need to find out what it wants by using an experienced medium. Human spirits often wants to tell us something. Or they are the ones who need help from the living. Demons however, are violent. They prey on the vulnerable, like you for example. Do NEVER interact with them! Bob's faith is inspiring, he did his best to fight it the only way he knew how. I'm assuming that is why the entity was so adamant. Year's ago while watching mass at work (i worked in a catholic nursing home) the priest said something very interesting. He said that most people think that the devil and demons come for people who have no faith or very little faith, or people who are living in sin and tes this is true sometimes. He went on to say that if u are a faithful follower and your faith is strong, u are not as safe as u may think! In fact u may be more in danger than others fir that very reason! He said that the devil/demons aren't going to waste their energy on people who are, in a sense, already half his! He wants the faithful! He wants to test your faith, break your will. It makes sense!!
This is true. I'm a catholic from India and my mother is a part of charismatic prayer. The amount of trials and tribulations she has had to face from people with little faith who are influenced by the enemy is disheartening to say the least.
At least the family isn't afraid to communicate to one another about what's going on. Most of these families in these episodes try to hide the fact just to "protect the kids/don't want to scare the kids". These parents are awesome in my book.

I think this family did an episode in paranormal witness. ...I can clearly remember the light switch incident and I remember when they broke down the wall inside the closet and found evidence of some type of devil worship

@Melanie D I think some cases are genuinely paranormal but not all. Others are just sleep paralysis and nothing more than that. It is a confirmed condition and it's not that uncommon. I've had frequent sleep paralysis events ever since I was a little kid. It's understood well enough to know it's a type of sleeping disorder that causes a person to be awake and asleep at the same time for a while. At first it scared the living shit out of me for a long time, then I learned to control my own fear and now it's actually enjoyable lol. The point is figuring out which is paranormal and which is neurological. Most of the time it's the latter.

I've had my fair share of paranormal experiences. In my teens I saw a shadow figure through the small gap of my bedroom door. Thinking it was my father I went back to sleep. Only to wake up a few hours later & ask both my parents if they were standing near the back door with their hands on their hips.....both said NO I've gone to the toilet before work one day on a warm summers morning...........(I live in Australia) only to have the hair on BOTH my arms stand on end with goosebumps. Have heard my name get called out at work only to turn around and find that there's NO ONE calling me Have sat on a park bench while at work (which has a small garden bed & windows) behind it. ONLY to get 3 sharp taps on my left shoulder........co-worker beside me had their hands in their lap. And finally I STILL see shadow figures out the corner of my eyes on a continuous basis
I battled an entire squadron of them, the shadows with the hoodie with constant attacks. But the Lord made a easy victory, they are nothing but nothing. Jesus Christ gave us the Holly Spirit and they are nothing but garbage 🗑️. Easy victory, trust in the Lord.
Psalm 23 and 91 work in getting rid of them. Psalm 23 is especially effective - the entities can't stand it for some reason. It's almost as if Psalm 23 (the Lord is my Shepherd) causes them pain. You can just play the psalms on repeat on your phone/speaker. I'm speaking from experience. They often manifest first through random thoughts that you yourself are horrified by. You know, the kinds of thoughts that appear out of nowhere that make you think 'what's wrong with me?'. You see something disgusting and you have a thought saying "eat it", you see a child standing by the side of the road and a thought appears "push it", etc. Gregorian chants also seem to work in getting them out of locations. Now - I'm not sure whether the entities that bothered me were demonic or whether they were just some kind of lost souls. But playing a recording of Psalm 23 on repeat throughout the night as I slept (I set the volume to a level where I could still hear it but it wouldn't really disturb my sleep) worked in getting rid of them. The effect was palpable after the first night. But I did it for around two weeks, not counting a short break after the first night on account of those entities convincing me that they were a dead loved one and I was hurting them and all they wanted was a place where they could stay (but that's another story). Ok so I found it. Dr. Richard Gallagher M.D. he wrote a book about his career both as a psychiatrist and consultant to the church. The book is called "Demonic Foes" one thing I had wrong or not exactly right was that he wasn't a believer before. He was actually raised catholic but he strongly questioned his faith and everything about it, until he started working with the exorcists.

I gotta say, it's sometimes intense being Catholic. The demonic hates us especially because of The Holy Eucharist, which no other faith has avowed. This is a fine example of His Almighty power, and I'm glad to see this testimony. I especially liked the determination of the home owner and the calm certainty of the priest.
It is intense but there are a lot of things I do not agree with as far as the church. I was raised Roman catholic, baptized and confirmed 😂 I feel that they are very hypocritical. If u are divorced, had children out of wedlock, not baptized, and so on, u are not "a child of God or in a state of grace" I do not necessarily agree with that. Their way of thinking contradicts the message of Jesus christ! Remember Mary Magdalen? Remember the criminal crucified next to him? That is why I've stepped away from the church. Not my faith nor my relationship with the lord but organized religion, as I feel it is very flawed. The church I grew up in, my parents, aunts, uncle's and cousins were members of, and that my parents, aunts and uncle's attended catholic school at as well, refused to do my aunts funeral mass because she was divorced! At another family funeral they were giving the eucharist and the priest would nor give it to my 7 year old sister because she wasn't baptized and while I know that is a mandatory sacrament it wasn't so much that he did that but more so that he told my 7 year old sister she wasn't baptized and therefore not a child of God! What kind of man, priest, human says that? To a child no less! I honestly don't believe in original sin either. I agree with other Christians denominations who believe that baptism should be done when u are old enough to understand sin and your commitment to the lord and the sacrament of baptism. There are some things I just don't believe in or agree with. I also don't believe in the rapture 😂 catholics do not believe in it, They believe in a gathering after Christ's second coming but not the rapture. That's one thing I agree with 😅

It is an impossibly radiant gift God has given us, and it helps bind many wounds. I'm sure you remember the inner joy of spirit you felt as you walked your way back to your pew at Mass. That's not something you want to abandon for a quarrelsome argument over some personal slight.

As my mom used to tell me when I was younger, should I ever move into a new place of my own, pray in each room to remove whatever may be lurking as you don't know who lived there before you or what they were into while living there. Personally should I find my own apartment, or house, I will for sure do that.

I noticed the eldest daughter and mother of Colin and her husband, his step-father were not present for the masses held in the home.. And the father of Jessica, only began religious prayer when his grandson and daughter and her new husband moved in... That spirit gained power through Jessica's family moving in. The original curse was likely installed by slave workers who had been mistreated.
The step father was most likely doing something most Americans call "working", mostly because taking care of a new family requires a decent amount of money to maintain. Unfortunately, fathers can't always be present for everything, although their hearts are usually in the right place.

My dad used to have night terrors when he was just a little guy. He had several other paranormal experiences as well and to this day, I believe he still senses things. His experiences always intrigued me and I researched night terrors. It seems as though many people have had them and they all have almost identical experiences.

I have known many Catholic Priests. The first one I ever remember meeting was a fella from Wales and at the time The Exorcist film was well known. I`d seen it - and it troubled me. Not so far as to drive me to unhealthy habits, but enough that I felt the film.
I asked the Priest if he`d seen it. He said he had. I asked him it it affected him. He looked at me as if I were asking a nonsensical question an simply replied, `no.`
He then related to me that he had been whitness to a real exorcism, which he described as extremely frightening. Some years later ( perhaps only two or three ) I met the Priest who was the prime participent in that real Exorcism. He was the `Official` Exorcist of the Diocese of Newcastle and Hexam, Northumberland, UK.
It may seem odd, but these chaps are amongst the most level - headed and emotionally resillient people I have ever known.
I think that if they were emotionally vulnerable and easily moved by what is going on, they couldn't have such role, when the least expected may happen.

I experienced the same thing as the daughter with a dark figure next to me and I couldn't scream. I am an Afghanistan veteran but nothing scared me more than that entity. I also have had a curtain fall down in the room next to my bedroom around the same month. I live in the Netherlands and the house used to be a household of an entire family of managers for the factory across the street. The house was built in 1906 anyone has any idea of what to do? My wife experiences activity alot more then I do.
First you need to find out if it's a demon or a human spirit. If it's human you need to find out what it wants by using an experienced medium. Human spirits often wants to tell us something. Or they are the ones who need help from the living. Demons however, are violent. They prey on the vulnerable, like you for example. Do NEVER interact with them! When the violence escalates, move out of the house. Shaking beds or cupboards, pounding on walls, ceiling or floor, whispering or giggeling voices, ghost children, scratch or bitemarks are all signs of demons.They can also make you feel sick and can even kill pets. Bob's faith is inspiring, he did his best to fight it the only way he knew how. I'm assuming that is why the entity was so adamant. Year's ago while watching mass at work (i worked in a catholic nursing home) the priest said something very interesting. He said that most people think that the devil and demons come for people who have no faith or very little faith, or people who are living in sin and tes this is true sometimes. He went on to say that if u are a faithful follower and your faith is strong, u are not as safe as u may think! In fact u may be more in danger than others fir that very reason! He said that the devil/demons aren't going to waste their energy on people who are, in a sense, already half his! He wants the faithful! He wants to test your faith, break your will. It makes sense!!
This is true. I'm a catholic from India and my mother is a part of charismatic prayer. The amount of trials and tribulations she has had to face from people with little faith who are influenced by the enemy is disheartening to say the least.
Pretty impressive most of this episodes have actors that look very similar , almost identical to the actual affected people.

I think this family did an episode in paranormal witness. ...I can clearly remember the light switch incident and I remember when they broke down the wall inside the closet and found evidence of some type of devil worship

@Melanie D I think some cases are genuinely paranormal but not all. Others are just sleep paralysis and nothing more than that. It is a confirmed condition and it's not that uncommon. I've had frequent sleep paralysis events ever since I was a little kid. It's understood well enough to know it's a type of sleeping disorder that causes a person to be awake and asleep at the same time for a while. At first it scared the living shit out of me for a long time, then I learned to control my own fear and now it's actually enjoyable lol. The point is figuring out which is paranormal and which is neurological. Most of the time it's the latter.

I've had my fair share of paranormal experiences. In my teens I saw a shadow figure through the small gap of my bedroom door. Thinking it was my father I went back to sleep. Only to wake up a few hours later & ask both my parents if they were standing near the back door with their hands on their hips.....both said NO
I've gone to the toilet before work one day on a warm summers morning...........(I live in Australia) only to have the hair on BOTH my arms stand on end with goosebumps.
Have heard my name get called out at work only to turn around and find that there's NO ONE calling me
Have sat on a park bench while at work (which has a small garden bed & windows) behind it. ONLY to get 3 sharp taps on my left shoulder........co-worker beside me had their hands in their lap. And finally I STILL see shadow figures out the corner of my eyes on a continuous basis
I battled an entire squadron of them, the shadows with the hoodie with constant attacks. But the Lord made a easy victory, they are nothing but nothing. Jesus Christ gave us the Holly Spirit and they are nothing but garbage 🗑️. Easy victory, trust in the Lord.
Psalm 23 and 91 work in getting rid of them. Psalm 23 is especially effective - the entities can't stand it for some reason. It's almost as if Psalm 23 (the Lord is my Shepherd) causes them pain. You can just play the psalms on repeat on your phone/speaker. I'm speaking from experience. They often manifest first through random thoughts that you yourself are horrified by. You know, the kinds of thoughts that appear out of nowhere that make you think 'what's wrong with me?'. You see something disgusting and you have a thought saying "eat it", you see a child standing by the side of the road and a thought appears "push it", etc.
Gregorian chants also seem to work in getting them out of locations.
Now - I'm not sure whether the entities that bothered me were demonic or whether they were just some kind of lost souls. But playing a recording of Psalm 23 on repeat throughout the night as I slept (I set the volume to a level where I could still hear it but it wouldn't really disturb my sleep) worked in getting rid of them. The effect was palpable after the first night. But I did it for around two weeks, not counting a short break after the first night on account of those entities convincing me that they were a dead loved one and I was hurting them and all they wanted was a place where they could stay (but that's another story).
