Field Work - Elementary School Fire Alarm Test with Simplex Horns on Strobe Plates
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 лют 2025
- The system was fairly recently upgraded from a 4002 to a 4100U, which also added some IDNet devices in a small portion of the building, but the rest is all zoned out unfortunately. There is a couple TrueAlerts in the system, some of the 4903s as well, but mostly horn and light plates. Too many model numbers to list, though there is a System Sensor MASS in the system! Very interesting system!

That is the most amazing-sounding system I've ever heard.
True! So true!
agreed
At 3:06, I finally realized how MASSive the horn variety was! XD
Lmfao that was good
1:45 All those horns in harmony....sounds so good
IKR. I wish my school had this system.
@@SomeDudeWithAnExitSign you were so mean to me so I permanent blocked you for the rest of my life
@@Thebigdipper23 what
I like the older alarms in this system great video
I love how they all harmonize with each other
Then there's 2:35 lmao
It sounds like fabric violently being ripped.
The way the alarms harmonize! I love it!
I know right 🙏🏽😁
Ahhhhhh.....This is what a simplex system should sound like.
I agree. I miss this sound...
I used to jump so bad back in elementary school because of those simplex horns. They always seemed to go off on me while I was walking in the hallway alone lol. Brings back memories.
Wow! Nice rendition of Simplex's Symphony No.4 in G! Lovely Crescendos, Diminuendos, harmonizing, everything is perfect, even the Dischord and Cacophony movement at 2:31 !
Omg! I love how the hallway at time mark 1:16 all harmonize together!!!
Nope. I’m cool. Thank you for using OnStar.
I love it how theres so much harmony in the system, and then there's 2:35
Nobody:
Alarm at 2:35: KHHHHHHHHH...
That fire alarms can't sing
What a choir
1:15 ah, the beautiful harmony of Simplex horns...
EXACTLY
Christian Oshiro THAT IS CORRECT
I think that they were federal signal horns
@@odinconnor-randomvideos5267 idk
Until 2:35
Ahh, the Simple Horn fire alarm. Takes me back to good ol memories from Elementary school. Not the whistles the have today. oye
I love those alarms they sound great
1:16 It sounds like the Carter Air Raid Siren!
I love the mix and match sounds
Love the variety of the horns, although, one can be heard sounding very hoarse!
2:36 Two problems:
Ceiling mount on wall
Very scratchy horn
(At least it outputs proper candela)
Ahhh. Those sounds take me back. The nurse at my elementary school said to me when I was like 6 or 7, that the fire alarm drills are only when she picks her nose. And THOSE or THOSE alarms were fucking loud as fuck man. Now these bells and whistles, swear to god thought I would go deaf. Bleeding Christ
Nice😀👍👍
1:31 the old alarms at my high school
Interesting system...... A lot of mix and match alarm devices. Most alarms look to be Simplex Mechanical horn/strobes or lights. Definitely a nice variety.
This gives me flashbacks to Elementary School where we had Simplex Mechanical horns on Continuous however my Elementary School had Simplex 2903 Light Plates with 2901 - 9838 horns except for the Portable section which had Simplex 4903 Electronic Horns I hope to get a video of my Elementary Schools Fire Alarm System one of these days idk when though
1:14 Sounds Like Going To Heaven
WATCH OUT ITS RORY 😵
2:36 sound grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Great vid!
Safe tech omg I love this guy also Zachary flech
WOW! TrueAlerts and 2901-9838's Together! My favorite and second favorite alarms on 1 system! COOL!
I think 2901 9846s and 2901 9838s together would be better
1:15 the whole fire alarms are making a medley
Did I hear a System Sensor MASS in there?
Walter G Broadnax III when several of those MASS System Sensor horns set to low-tone continuous go off at the same time, it makes for a scary, loud, fire alarm. In fact, those are the scariest sounding fire alarms I’ve ever heard, when set like that.
Yeah
At my old elementary school there is Simplex 4903s (both 9105 and the one shown at the beginning of the video), Simplex TrueAlert Horn Strobes, and Simplex TrueAlert Speaker Strobes.
At my high school there is 4903 and they are speaker strobes and there is also a true alert speaker strobes and A few system sensor speaker strobes and they installed one set geniuses horn strobe
@@AHAnimate12 That’s cool. Your lucky, because my high school has Wheelock 7002Ts and they are so obnoxiously loud
If you’re wondering about the alarms here it is
Simplex 4903-9215/-9217/-9219
Simplex Truealerts
Simplex 2901-9806s on 4903-9101s
Simplex 2901-9838s on 4903-9101s
Simplex 4901-9805 on a 4903-9101
Simplex 4901-9805 on a 4903-9104 (ceiling mount model)
System sensor MASS or MA on a 4903-9101
That mass could just be a ada mass
@@andrewedwards2416It may even be a Non-ADA Mass or just a standalone horn. The TrueAlerts have a model number of 4903-9425/9426/9427. The ceiling strobe plate actually looks to me a 4903-9105.
Gotta love a good Simplex system.
The old and the new fire alarm horns sound like a horror movie when they make echoing noises especially the old Simplex mechanical horn on the 4906 (I think) strobe light plate. Also, I didn’t see the System Sensor Mass. Was the System Sensor Mass a horn/strobe or remote horn? But, don’t take my word for what I am asking. Thank you for serving the fire alarm community by testing the fire alarm systems everywhere! Keep up the good work Fire Alarm Tech!
1:15 this why I love older simplex systems. Wished that newer alarms had Harmony.
Well the Wheelock NS and Gentex Commander 3 on continuous does
Nice shoes you have
The simplex 4903-9105 4903 horn is sick
2:35 this is what all my mechanical horns sounds like
Sounds similar to what my elementary school system is, minus to Tru Alerts. It was installed in the early 90s and is scheduled to be replaced this summer.
Was that a gray Federal Signal Vibratone 450D in the boiler room (I saw those monster pumps, like the Vermont Achievement Center school boilers) at 3:35 ?
It's probably the usual '9806... (I would only expect it to be gray on that setup, if it's actually a new purchase in this century or sometime in the 1990s...)
Federal Signal made them as general-signalling only, in the 2000s and/or sometime in the 1990s...)
My elementary school had a very very weird combination of alarms in it
in the front there was one spectralert classic, 2 bg6 pull stations, a gentex SHG 1st gen on continous, 3 wheelock 7002ts
and 4 est siga 278 pull stations
in the back of the school there was just spectralerts and bg-12L pull stations, and then in the pre school there was spectralerts and est siga 278 pull stations, bg 12 pull stations in the trailers and spectralerts, and ONE gentex commander 3rd generation outside and then on the front of the school there was a weathered, broken spectralert classic that would make only a very quiet clicking sound when activated
Yes in simplex alarm fire is sure old system 2:35
Turn it up this is my mixtape
I think in some parts of my old Kindergarten School in Lake Street, MN, the alarm in the beginning was in some locations, particularly the entrance.
Hey, Zachary Fleck! What Location Is This?
Imagine what would it be like if it was just 2901 9846s and 2901 9838s combo
Cool system! 2:36 That 9805 horn sounds very bad. Also, why are they using a ceiling mount strobe plate on the wall?
0:10 When you go through an emergency exit at an airport.
Lovely fire drill
Nice! The alarm at 2:45 needs to be replaced! I feel bad for the little kids in that school. lol
Safety Security Alert you meant 2:35?
That alarm is SIDEWAYS
I suspected at 3:10 that a System Sensor MA was in a Simplex 4903 or 2903, to replace a dead horn...
Well, in 1998, maybe 1999 or 1997, IIRC, at Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center, (Greenfield, NH and on Wikipedia) next to the gym, one of the '9833s died and a System Sensor MA took its place in the same Simplex 2903-9xxx (probably 2903-9101) strobe plate... (In the Pierce building, which also has the swimming pools)
Did I hear a System Sensor MASS or MAHE at one point in the video?
Nice test
1:13 Harmony starts
2:36 That one doesn't sound well
Trevor L. You’re right it doesn’t
Zachary Fleck yes sir!
It sounds out of date that must have been the first fire alarm the put in
My school has those. They are 4901-9805s, installed in 1995. The thing with my school is that it has been added onto, all of the additions sporting truealerts, although the first addition has very early truealerts.
For 2:36 , that's one of the latest ones in the building!
2:40 that 2901-9838 sounds like heaven
That 9838 sounds like a 4903 9219
I just had a fire drill today and it sounded like that but with 9838s
This fuels my inner scotsman
I love how there's a random mass lol
Nice!
aaahhh. Simplex harmony. Exept for the horn at 2:35. It sounded like it's dying out. :(
No. tell them that they should replace it with another mechanical horn. An electronic one would go horribly with the mechanical horns. Trust me. My school has 9838s and TrueAlerts. Not the best combo.
... ... ..... I see. It's, really unfortunate that it has to be a TrueAlert or something like that. But, hey. At least things will work again...
Or since the strobe is still working and is ADA-compliant, they could remove the dying 4901-9805 horn and out in a 4901-9822 electronic horn, which uses the same body as the -9805 but is electronic (it used to use the same sounder as the 90s electronic 4903 horn/strobes, but now uses the same sounder as the TrueAlert.)
wileyk209zback, agreed. They should.
Why is it that some fire alarms look and sometimes sound evil?
My elementary school sounded like this but it was 4903 9102 and 9838s on March time
I had those fire alarms at my pre school in the 1990's. Heard them go off almost every week in my classroom and I didn't like it.
Sounds like my fire alarm from Camden station Elementary in Crestwood KY
I heard a System Sensor MASS somewhere in there
Very cool!
From what I see there’s 3 4903-9217s simplex 2901-9806s on 4903 light plates 1 9838 combo and some truealerts
I think they are 9219s, since the strobe has a lower candela rating.
1:16 This sounds so amazing.
2:38 that is the perfect pitch
Reminds me of my elementary school. Before they went to those godforsaken SpectrAlert Advances. Used to be simplex horns, edwards horns and gentex horns.
I feel so weak minded haha, all these comments are talking about how wonderful these harmonies are, yet all I hear is death, these horns terrified me as a kid and still do
So... They actually use continuous?
Common in old buildings, yes.
Sounds like a choir, and only one of them has the sore throat.
Teacher: "Tarnation! Tell them to stop that noise!"
I Like ur pfp
Good stuff Zach
I always wonder what is field work
so, here's what the school has:
Simplex 4903-9219's
Simplex 2901-9806's
Simplex 2901-9838's
a very scratchy 4901-9805
System Sensor MASS Set on 800Hz
Simplex Truealerts on Continuous
That 4901-9805 is likely on a Simplex 4903-9105 strobe plate. The rest are 4903-9101s.
My school has high pitched beaping inside with strobe lights and low piched beeping outside that you can hear at least 4 miles away
In some schools, the only way to tell the fire system is in alarm is that everyone is outside.
Gracias!
I love simplex mechanical horns way more than the electric speaker horns
0:12 when u take a huge fart and U can’t control it
I miss one of those horns going off
Some Kids think the sound of fire alarms can be loud and very scary right?
The one alarm sounds like bees flying
can you test all of the emergency lights next?
Zachary Fleck thank you
Does anyone know why the 4901-9805 horns sound so bad almost all the time?
3:06-3:15 Never heard a simplex fire alarm go that high pitched before
Its a system sensor mass
@@refve8105 Oh OK
2:36 why ceiling maunt strobe plate is on the wall and why that horn sound like it's dying.
At 2:05, what alarm is that?
Federal signal vibratone
Nice video cool
it sounded like this in my elementary school but it was march time
These horns are used at my school
the alarms through out the video: doooooo reeeeeeeyyy meeeee soooooooooo
the one at 2:33: *rhghkgsjgfdskjgufhkefns*
Those alarms need fixed
That broken alarm is there a speaker or just a piezo horn thingy in it?
The horn uses a metal plate and vibrating mechanism
3:45 epic
That Is My Fire Alarm In This Video And I Am Doing A Fire Drill My Name Is South Africa
What elementary school is this? And where is it located at?
2:35 now that is funny
1:42 Penguins goal horn
