0:01 I went to a summer camp last summer and instead of fire alarm horns or speakers or strobes, they have Edwards bells that are the same as the one at 0:01 next to the horn. They also have Edwards Pull Stations that activate the bells.
More than likely that whooping sound is from a security system, (could be either the siren or one of the keypads) which the fire alarm panel is probably wired to trip on alarm. (even though last I checked that's against code)
@@DivanCello I've never heard of anything like that being done in any system so I wouldn't know if you're right or not. Seems kinda absurd to do that if the system already has alarms though.
0:23 This is what my old Dillingham Elementary School Piner Middle School and Sherman High School fire alarms sounds like during fire drills. Pretty cool tho.
It find it amazing how many fire tecs don't know the difference, In this building they should of had installed a BPS10A and ran everything off that. The town I live in does not allow FWR for bell circuits, So I see Edwards exps all the time.
Back then? Was this years ago? Plus I swear I heard a Classic SpectrAlert in there. And I'm a bit shocked they are using Wheelock AS-2415s instead of the newer ones with the strobe on top. There is a Dunkin near me that has one and my elementary school also had one which was the only code-3 horn in a sea of continuous 9219s. Before I forget: forums.thefirepanel.com/viewtopic.php?p=81859#p81859 There you go.
Obviously I'm not the first to say this, but I think we can all agree that those horns sure sound terrible on FWR. On the contrary, the SpectrAlert classics surprisingly sound clean despite being powered on FWR (at least from what I could tell from this video)...usually they sound much more raspier than this on FWR.
My old elementary had continuous rare FOS alarms and 1 code 3 wheelock Exeeder and I think 2 wheelock AS's also on code 3 and the detectors are system sensor 2400's and the pulls where simplex t bars (I don't know the model) so yeah confusing system.
These ones remind me of Faraday DC horns, including the ones under Siemens, especially the U-HNH? Seemingly more so for the late ones right before the Faraday plant went under. It did seem that a lot of the 4903-9219s and the like, sound similar to these. Joel Speck on YT, has a bunch of 4903-9219s, maybe another variant in his dorm video with the Simplex 4004 FACP.
The horns are very underpowered, do to the resistance they have vs what the panel can handle. the load is too Inductive. Simplex stuff like the 4009 Nac panel can handle very inductive loads.
This seems like it was done on the cheap... they replaced only a few devices and they don't even have the new alarms set on the same code. And FWR power is indeed very gross. Yuck.
0:09 idk about you guys or girls but these fire alarms are Actually annoying and will give me a headache I hope the schools I go to DONT have these alarms
Wow that stuff old from the 1960s probley when Kennedy was presdent those alarms should be replaced and truealerts should be put in a new nice 4010 panel they need to get rid of that system and put in a nicer system that why those horns sound bad there old as hell
Ate who Pull That Fire alarm!? who did it is in serious trouble no pull ze fire alarm or start pranks by messing with federal equipment u can git thrown in prison face serve Penalty for messing with the fire alarm if it ain't no emergency or fire putting lives in danger

The model number of those horns is actually 881D-AW and there seems to be a 885D-AW there too.
You got it right in the 2nd time
@@maiyo8518 the 881 is the flush mount model 👍
I thought you were in Canada when I heard those Edwards horns lol. Old systems in Canada have them. What was that whooping sound towards the end?
Yeah the old Edwards Adapt a horns before he took down his videos you could see twoplyboy smacking quite a few of them in his bell test videos lol

Stop recording the floor and record the building with the fire alarms
Yeah! 😡
0:10 What kind of alarms are these?! my school just has the strobe light ones and im thankful i dont have that one
edwards adaptahorn
@@isaacsparodys2007 Oh ok
Old Edwards horns on FWR = bad 😄. Wow they sound horrifically raspy on FWR lol
Great video!

Sounds like someone doing woodwork in a shop.
Nice! Quite an interesting mix system
Mechanical horn fire alarms get quite and gross on the FWR. The system only works on electrical fire alarms and bells.
The best thing was leaving school before the Fire Drill Started, thats 2
Wheelock AS or MT on continuous? No thanks!
the wheelock AS's are not the only horn/strobes in the school. i heard spectralert classics and NS's
The fire alarms in the gym sound like the fire alarms at my school
Did you replace any devices on the system? I heard somewhere that FWR can kill devices.
Ah. Only simplex would make that crap! XD
Why can't ALL places have this motto? DX

How can fwr kill devices, can you explain, I dont understand, why fwr kill alarms
I'm guessing in the gym there's wheelock mts and ns on code 3

Great video 😀👍👍
Just read the disprection the system was replaced?
Wow great video and those old alarms don’t sound to good are they dying? Or just quiet?
Zachary Fleck oh thx since I’m not the good with fire alarms this helped me a lot
I finally have something to post in the Interesting / Unusual Alarm System Vids topic!
What is the point of showing the alarms while they are going off when there is no flashing
2 alarms of different coding in the gym? XDDD
The code 3 fire alarm is the wheelock exseader. And the continuous fire alarm is the wheelock AS.
I love a good rasp XD

Raspy i guess fwr they need filtered dc and 120 bpm on the horns
Not up to code, you need it on code 3.
0:10 what the hell happened to those horns?
FWR
Unfortunately the Elementary School Might have to be rebuilt. It's pretty small.

I don’t think the system 500 outputs FWR. The Spectralert Classics sound fine. I think the horns aged horribly.
There are NAC boosters that are tied to the 500, that's what is powering this whole school, and what is putting out the FWR.
