This is the first time I’m attempting to crochet since I was 6 and now I’m well past 50! Idk if bulky, fluffy yarn was a smart choice for my first project, but that’s all I had on hand since I’m disabled and I can’t get out often. You mentioned that you had a video to show how to crochet a single stitch border that could possibly be used to help with wonky edges, but I didn’t see it posted in your video description. If I missed it I’m sorry.

    • @SigoniMacaroni
      @SigoniMacaroni  2 роки тому +5

      No you can absolutely customize it yourself. Just chain until you reach your desired width. I used 52 because I wanted it to be wide enough to wear it covered my lap (and then some) but also long enough to reach past my toes without running out of yarn. If you decide to make yours wider and longer, just know that you will need more yarn than what I used

    • @SigoniMacaroni
      @SigoniMacaroni  2 роки тому +5

      Hi Andrea! Good question. I used an 11mm because it gives the blanket more drape. You can use a 9mm but it will make your stitches tighter creating a stiffer fabric. It will also turn out smaller than the one I designed with the 11mm

    Do u put ur first half double in the very first space? And also, I noticed at end of row, you chain 2, but does that include the chain to close your half double stitch? (Half double, close, then chain 2 or are you closing the stitch with 1 of those 2 stitches?

    • @Kathy-G
      @Kathy-G Рік тому +2

      To start the half double crochets you insert hook into the 3rd chain from hook (not counting loop on hook). At end of row... work the last double crochet then chain 2 and turn. Begin working the half double crochets in the next space. The 2 chain will count as a stitch unless pattern says other wise. Hope this helps.

    Do the two chains at the beginning of each row count as part of the 52 chains?

    How did you weave in the ends of that bulky yarn? It seems to thick for a darning needle.

    Can I use a 12mm hook or a 10mm hook I don’t have an 11

    • @SigoniMacaroni
      @SigoniMacaroni  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, you can use either size that works best for you based on your tension. I used an 11 because it gives the blanket more drape. If you crochet pretty tight, I would use a 12. If you crochet more loose, I would use a 10

    Thank you for the quick and easy pattern,but you didn't show how to finish it,so how do we finish it?

    • @SigoniMacaroni
      @SigoniMacaroni  2 роки тому

      Just cut your yarn giving yourself a longer tail, yarn over and pull that strand all the way through. Then weave in your ends.

      I would use a strict marker, to mark your ends or a bigger hook!
