The irony is that the views they're claiming Red Skull has are the same values a traditional, conservative American WWII veteran would have fought defending. In other words, the views that Captain America would have held. They're literally swapping the moral frameworks between the hero and villain of the story and making the hero a villain and the villain a hero.
To be fair, half or more of the values and beliefs of the average WWII American Joe would be vilified in today's society.
That’s the problem. The swapping of the moral framework isn’t just occurring in the comic, it’s happening in real life as well.

Yes, things like if you want to change the world that it's best to get your own life in order first. That getting your life in order is often hard. Getting your life in order takes time. You might not even be able to get your life in order. You will probably never achieve your goals, but working towards them has value in itself.
I mean, when I think of someone who just tells people what they want to hear; I think of someone who supports delayed gratification, hard work, acknowledging life is far from easy, and admits that problems often take a long time to solve and my in fact be impossible to solve in some cases.
In all seriousness, at the ripe old age of 37 I will be starting up my own business, so I finally have my life in order.

After watching SFO’s video on why capitalism wins, and others, it is clear that fascism is an intentionally nebulous target. It’s evil just like the Devil in the Bible is evil. It is presupposed to be bad, but lacks none of the humility of biblical “good”. Being “good” is hard!! Whereas the communist says that everything is better once you cede your autonomy to them... they ignore the Ukraine or the Maoism years... because they are not seen as communism, just insects that need to be exterminated.
It’s a central issue with the atheist presuppositions of various authoritarian systems. They give themselves moral authority as well as political authority. If marx was extolling the praises of the bourgeoisie, they would praise them too. They don’t have a baseline morality to prevent the failures.

Speaking personally, _I_ feel like a major problem both parties do is to say "(good thing) is _actually_ something from my side of the argument! I think it's better to point out the side's stance on things in the past, and how they have abandoned those principles, if indeed that's the case. no. sadly it doesnt work that way. this is "poisoning the well". its done all the time. In news, they slander a person, or describe a speech as "tirade", "inciting violence", etc. then when they play the speech its of course, something perfectly reasonable. But, if your mind was set to hear something bad, thats what it registers. They get you to hate a person, then anything they say or do comes of bad. So by putting the words into the mouth of a "bad guy", the average person just is already biased to take everything they say as false, or evil.

By making Red Skull have moderate opinions, the writers ironically help fuel the radicalism and paranoia that they claim to hate. Red Skull is no longer an obvious enemy that everyone, even the Joker, could unite against, but now he's a commonplace idea. His opinions are everywhere, anyone could be Hydra: your friends, your family, your neighbour and even your heroes, like, for example, Captain America, who was literally a Hydra agent in Secret Empire.
Just to be clear, the phenomenon he's meant to represent, of radicals coopting moderate opinions for their own agenda, is real, and it's a pretty serious issue. I'm not against it being represented in entertainment, but Red Skull only paints one side of the story. It's unfair, disingenuous, unhelpful and toxic to only present one side of the story without the other. Injustice did a good job with depicting that idea with Superman, Batman and Ra's Al Ghul, Hell, even Civil War did it better. Marvel needs to get their heads out of their asses if they wanna recover their comic sales.
Batman and Ra's al Ghul, as well as Batman and Red Hood when he wasn't an anti-hero, is like the perfect example to the idea of the superhero moral conflict, and I wish more people would look at those for how to make a compelling conflict of ideology. Although one side is clearly good and evil from certain objective standpoints, both sides have significant points that do have validity, and encourage critical thought among readers.
