As a Christian, my favorite thing is when non-Christians, and especially people who hate Christianity, try to tell me what to do and how to believe based on what they think are my religious values. Also, it's pretty widely accepted that the creation story in Genesis is just that, a story (no one takes young Earth creationism seriously). So this guy pretending like he knows what the Bible wanted to tell humanity based on the first chapter in Genesis is hilarious. "You can't speak intelligently about another person's lived experiences and beliefs. Also, this is what you as a Christian believe and this is how you should live your life."
Young Earth creationism and Flat Earth nonsense share a common trait: people who think the Bible was written in English, immediately springing into being as the King James Version. When the Bible says the Earth was created in six "days", the word being translated from Hebrew does not mean "24-hours". It could just as easily be translated as six "epochs".

AT MOST I could see the argument that the Christian God is non-binary (even if we ignore numerous uses of He pronouns, with the capital "H", by the way, to describe Him). Pretty hard to ascribe a gender to a being that is so beyond human comprehension. But trans? Hell no! Transitioning from what to what?!
The whole scientific publishing about racism in police shootings reminds me of a story I read about a study that people wanted to silence about how adults are attracted to 14-17 year olds when they are told ahead of time that they are 18, but not when they are told ahead of time they are 14-17. Science really do be bussin' like that. It will often say things we don't want to hear.
Dragon's Crown became easily my favorite ps3 game for the whole philosophy behind it: masterful character designs majestic music tight gameplay homage to cult classics in the genre and mainly, not backing down (and even doubling down) on their vision after the sjw backlash. Stay strong, Vanillabros
As a Christian, I can confidently say that one lady who said "God is trans" absolutely no idea what she is talking about. God is beyond gender, and beyond one person, but that doesn't mean He's "trans", and people who want to compare themselves to God in this way, are either confused or narcissistic. He has given us clear instructions on how to refer to Him, and it's ok to refer to Him as male, likely to make things easier on our limited minds. Also, I wanted to add, that the guy praying to Trump, assuming he's serious, committed blasphemy, as Trump is not God, not even close. He is only a man (and a _very_ flawed man at that), and should not be worshiped and prayed to on the same level as Jesus.
Eh, there's a lot of evidence that early Judaism was semi-polytheistic, but devoted to the worship of Yahweh to the exclusion of other regional deities, many of whom weren't denied - but later went on to become regarded as demons in later Hebrew and Christian literature, such as Baal/Balel Zebul/Beelzebub . There's archeological evidence that at least some sects of early Judaism considered Ishtar/Asherah as the wife of Yahweh who was the greatest - the El - among the local gods. So even as the Bible considers Yahweh/Elohim to be a singular and sole creation deity, it's very possible that "We" is not in the royal sense added by later translators - but a literal "We" as in Yahweh and a plurality of other local deities. The Bible isn't a straight recording of a singular cohesive history - it is a collection of literature written by different authors from different times and different regions that was sorted, edited, and compiled multiple times throughout history. It's not uncommon for biblical scholars to identify several different authors and editors with contributions across multiple different books - almost the same way as an archeologist can identify different strata in the earth. At any rate, the idea of "god is trans" - or anything so mundane and limited, is laughable at best. Trans does not mean "transcending", as would be the case in divine beings - whether Greek, Roman, or Semitic. It stands for "transitioning" from one gender to another.
You explained what I came into the comments to say way better than I could’ve. Yeah, Yahweh/Elohim was part of a Canaanite pantheon. I find early Christianity really interesting because you can see the progression from worshipping a pantheon to eventually a singular worship of Yahweh.
That and most of the lesser divine beings that made up El's court in Yahwism that became known as angels under Christianity, including El's chief prosecutor "The Satan".
Literally, the reason God say "Our image" is the whole setup is he's talking to the angels and shit that already existed. It's not even a royal we really, the whole context is that was being said to other things already chilling in Heaven.

A fun Jewish experience is when you get to hear idiots misinterpret the hell out of everything in the Torah. At least he's not also going on about "the Talmud is satanic" as I have been subjected to repearedly. As you said, bunch of names of God, most masculine, 1 or 2 feminine (depending who you ask), and a very common plural. The tetragrammaton is probably neutral but Hebrew defaults male. That "8 genders" thing always ticks me off. The Talmud describes a few different intersex (and possibly impossible conditions) around genitals *and then describes in what way those described conditions should be treated as male or female*. It's not trans, and it's entirely focused on biological sex, period. I think the legitimate "trans positive" part is that it is a good example of the effort Jews put into inclusivity of Jews into the community - even incredibly rare intersex conditions are carefully considered and found how to be incorporated into Jewish life. Not at all "8 biblical genders" insanity.

For the “God is trans” part (🤮) let me say a couple things: 1) “Our image” is because God is Triune (Father, Son, Holy spirit), not because God is “they/them”, this is literal ground level theology 101 first class of the course. 2) “Spirit” being feminine is hebrew means nothing when God always refers to Himself as the Father and Jesus the Son, but other than that God is genderless, He’s transcendental, above earthly things like man and woman. 3) They, their, them? That’s not because God somehow wants to have a vajayjay instead of a peepee, it’s because, yknow, God is 3 persons. 4) For those 8 genders the only thing I can see is about the talmud (not Christian) speaking about “8 genders” which just constitutes either male, female, genderless, both or males and females that have varying sexual characteristics either developed naturally or artificially. 5) This guy just spouted a whole lot of bs
6:00 It's a Masculine Plural which undermines his point at 6:04 Also Hebrew has gendered nouns like most languages except English. For example "Dog" is a Masculine word, so even a female dog would be referred to in Masculine terms. Citations, Genesis 1:27 "in His own image" בצלמו It's a masculine possessive Genesis 1:2 "and the spirit of God" ורוח אלוהים "Spirit" or רוח is a feminine noun, so the spirit of anything would be a feminine noun
also on the guy about god being trans. we already know they are quite literally incapable of media literacy and will reinterpret everything to be beneficial to their worldview, because reality is hard and so is understanding

Frankly if people want to pay a ton of money for this shit, let them. It's not illegal and it's not even scummy since he's not forcing people to buy the things.
It's pretty scummy. He fucked up and he's going to gouge his idiot worshippers and trick them into paying for the mistake on his behalf.
He knows it will work because they're a borderline cult at this point. That's money out the pocket of a working American, who he alleges to stand for.
Couldn't agree more man.
And we see an example of how to make legitimate money from a product people want, while the money he has is being stolen left and right (both literally and figuratively) by political bullies who are trying to stop him from running for President.
I don't the hate he's getting. A lot of people are yelling saying shit sneakers are bad, made in China and what not... but they're no different from Nike shoes. Overpriced, poor qauilty and made with slave labor.
Not smart at all. A lot of people in the sneaker community aren't in trump's demographic. actually mostly quite the opposite. Not to mention for the most part you can't slam a label onto a shoe and expect sneakerheads to hop onto it. It's not the same as high fashion people that would wear a dress that is designed to look like a cum rag. Those shitty shoes are gonna sell well compared to what actually sells.
All the other kids with their Trumped Up Kicks...
I thought we as a society hate it when people cherry picked scriptures out of the Bible in order to further whatever their pet project is.
I know you're not a christian, Dev but I've always appreciated your willingness to at least accurately represent what you're talking about.
Your whole life you've been told what to do and how to believe. That's why you still do. If no one ever told you, you literally couldn't and thus wouldn't.
@@thisguy4505 It's not unlike when people use the sentence "I haven't seen you in years", it isn't strictly required for the time passed to be years, instead being used to signal a long period of time. The seven days are a literary device to explain and keep count of the weeks, particulary because the 7th day i.e. Sunday, is extremely important
@@magnushmannk then how do you explain me? I was an atheist for years. Found religion on my own and came to Christ. Sure, I guess you could argue that I was always aware of Christianity, but I was never told what to believe by anybody.

"You're competing with me to be with me" No I'm not. Dream on hermit.
Pray to Trump and say your Bigly Prayers.
"God's pronouns are literally they/their/them. How else are you going to talk about the trinity?"
The trinity refers to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Three different entities that are spiritually connected. What pronouns do people use when talking about multiple entities? Oh yeah...
This point almost makes me feel like that video is a troll because mentioning the trinity defeats the entire purpose of mentioning the pronouns.
You know the heretical blasphemy is bad when Dev feels the need to debunk and just immediately smells bs

@@fdurantheseeyes and no. Granted I only ever watched the 80s cartoon but in it, it didn't seem like a mask he was wearing. Like dude's face was just grey metal for some reason. I don't think they ever explained why in the cartoon series, though maybe they did in the comics. The one with the metal mask was Cobra Commander. One outfit had the blue military helmet and the metal visor/mask, the other was wearing a blue cloth pseudo executioner hood.
AT MOST I could see the argument that the Christian God is non-binary (even if we ignore numerous uses of He pronouns, with the capital "H", by the way, to describe Him). Pretty hard to ascribe a gender to a being that is so beyond human comprehension.

Is there anyone on the same level as jesus?
@user-cs4su3ng9l no, there never was, never is, and never will be. We've all fallen short in some way, and he was the only one to rise above us. 🙏✝️✨️

This is why liberals will never take down Trump. He never stops the hussle. It's all he knows!
Literally, the reason God say "Our image" is the whole setup is he's talking to the angels and shit that already existed. It's not even a royal we really, the whole context is that was being said to other things already chilling in Heaven.
Ok, that professor/researcher is hilarious in how he tells things in his initial response in addition to clearly being professional, even when he has misgivings. Wish his style was more common in colleges/universities these days.

Meanwhile, guys seeing fucking shirtless Kratos or Lu Kang, be like "literally me."
I have massive respect for the researcher who published his paper.

God says “we” and “our” because of the Trinity
God the father, god the son, and the Holy Spirit. The spirit is described as a male
People will make fun of Trump for selling a pair of sneakers but here is the thing, he was not a politician first.
6:00 It's a Masculine Plural which undermines his point at 6:04
Also Hebrew has gendered nouns like most languages except English.
For example "Dog" is a Masculine word, so even a female dog would be referred to in Masculine terms.
Citations,
Genesis 1:27
"in His own image"
בצלמו
It's a masculine possessive
Genesis 1:2
"and the spirit of God"
ורוח אלוהים
"Spirit" or רוח is a feminine noun, so the spirit of anything would be a feminine noun
"Bitch" is a word to call female dog, but later it becomes Slurs because Humanity do best as destroying dictionary
also on the guy about god being trans. we already know they are quite literally incapable of media literacy and will reinterpret everything to be beneficial to their worldview, because reality is hard and so is understanding
