I ordered one of these from the US to EU and expected it to arrive in 2 weeks, looked in my mailbox and it had arrived within a week. Lightning fast shipping.
6:26 might be the same material as the microsuction tape on my thnikk osu! keypad (Sewell Direct AirStick Microsuction Tape), for that wiping with a lint-free cloth and water is enough to make it sticky again, like it was brand new. 8:41 if the contacts are corroded (looks cloudy/green) you can use contact cleaners; personally i have a bunch of DeoxIT brush contact cleaners and they work immensely well at removing corrosion. as someone who lives in a country that's humid all the time, it's a must have for me. you probably don't want to use a spray type for PCBs as there'd be too much pressure though.
I did some research, and I think it might be what they call "microsuction" tape. The reason the tape sticks is apparently because the surface is covered in microscopic "craters" that act like suction cups. When you apply enough pressure between the tape and a smooth, flat surface, the air pockets escape and the tape forms thousands of partial vacuums. As long as this surface remains intact, it can be washed and reused. This is more of a physical bond than a chemical one; the important thing about the material is that its properties are similar to rubber, so it's soft and flexible enough for the suction to work. This is the weirdest thing ever. Not actually sure if this is it, but it would be some crazy technology if it is.
For the stickiness not washing off, my best way of explaining that is, if you get tree sap on you it's really difficult to wash off, that's because water does next to nothing washing the stickiness off because nothing is chemically changed, but when you use rubbing alcohol it washes off easily because it changes because it breaks down the chemical properties of it. Even though tree sap isn't used in the sticky pads, it still followed the same principle, water doesn't change anything only the dust is blocking the sticky and the table. Hope this helps.
Actually i bought my simpad when u did very first simpad video (from simshop and it's the same device). After 1 year on using that, my keypad still perfectly works without changing switches or something. So, the 2 main rules to give more lasting of the keypad are: cleaning the room and have respect for your device.
I got my simpad around half a year ago and it kinda has ruined my osu career. It worked great for me until a few weeks ago but then I started noticing when I used the right key on sliders it would just randomly let go even when though I was definitely holding it down and one day the right side just completely stopped working. I had never changed the switches before since I liked the way they felt and didn't feel the need to so I thought maybe the switch on the right side was just worn out but when I took it out to change it I noticed the kailh socket thing on the right side had like broken off and fallen back and to the side of where it was supposed to be. It makes me pretty sad because I was just about to reach 5 digit and I don't have the money for a new keypad at the moment and I can't use my keyboard because it has an unbearable amount of input delay. I was wondering if there was any way you could fix the kailh sockets or if I would just have to save for a new keypad.
I guys i need help So i bought Ecarke usb mini keypad from amazon year ago and now i have huge problem with it Suddenly its not registering the tap good on pc , i mean physically the pressing have no problem but it wont work and some times it register as two press , please help me i cant afford another one😢.
with a soldering iron and a solder sucker a pack of hot swap sockets you will never have to worry about breaking anything if they break solder a new socket on
My problem is that my keypad (simpad nano) literally disconnects randomly when I use it, I had it for around 1 year, and it keeps disconnecting in random parts when I play. Do you recommend doing something, or my keypad just broke? :,[
try out multiple cables, it's the problem 9/10 times. if not, blow compressed air into usb-c port, then repeat with multiple cables. if that doesn't fix it, the port may be damaged, you can get a new PCB for $5 usd and it takes a minute to swap it out.
Gateron reds are objectively better than cherry reds. Gateron's molds are simply better. All of the cherry "clones" are actually better than cherry themselves, that being gateron and kailh.
compressed air is what fixed my key chatter :) i wish that there was an option to purchase one with switches soldered in to avoid that dust issue and give people with soldering skills another option, every single keypad is hotswap :( inb4 "just use keyboard" i swap keyboards a lot and tiny adjustments are easier w keypad
@@cjam777 what kind of issues? if u were talking about chattering, they also happen on soldered switches. it happens a lot on my hyperx and it sometimes misses input, i probably blame that to poor factory solder, and not gonna lie, i kinda burned the pcb a bit when i was trying to replace the key missing inputs
@@komical2581 well, it depends on what you expect, its not super grippy after but it definetly helps. Keep in mind that i have a tablet cover so idk how well it works without one, or even if it might break without one. I also only hold my finger over the usb connection so no water goes in, and nothing went wrong in months of doing this, but if ur tablet breaks bc of trying this u have been warned. You can buy Kailh hotswap sockets separately and replace them yourself. You just need a soldering iron.

I don't live in the US and have to pay $30 USD for shipping so I can't get it from momokai :(
you... dont need to take the whole sticky pad off... just clean it while its on.

I take care of my osu keypad by giving it some water if it feels dehydrated then dump it into the bathtub for hygiene
15 Euro for shipping kinda sucks.. dont quite know if its worth it for me though im still using fake reds so it might make a difference...
