ngl seeing this video felt like a god send for me 😂 I remember in my early years of osu, whether using membrane or mechanical, i would use some sort of book or a handkerchief or towel just to elevate my keyboard so it doesnt make much desk echo noise when playing, even at one point when i did get a mechanical keyboard, i was so desperate but that i legit played without keycaps, still sometimes do it but i got myself some thinner o rings for tapping to feel bearable 😂
@@placeholder3863 yeah, played without keycaps 😂it definitely felt weird the first few weeks but i got used to it pretty quickly, at the time i had thicc o rings so tapping with those on felt disgusting, so i just ended up playing without keycaps which was a lil more quieter anyways ,😂
@@placeholder3863 Fun fact, I don't remember who but there's a 3 digit out there that plays like this even during the day because he got so used to it lol, he was why I started doing it at night, but I refuse to play that way during the day.
another good alternative for quiet osu gaming is a touch keypad, i have the one by thnikk and i love it, theres no travel distance or anything like that since there arent any switches, and its completely silent. its also worth mentioning that its reletively cheap and has no input delay (or at least VERY little to the point where i physically cannot see/notice it)
Cherry silent switches are not only the scratchiest, but also the loudest silent switch. O-rings aren’t necessary and make them feel extremely mushy. Zeal silents are differently built and are less mushy or you got to purchase jwk silent switches, which are currently the most quiet mx switch. Keycap shouldn’t matter much either way, just dampening the table/case is very important.
You better actually make a -10db keyboard that removes sound from the room. It only takes a really simple enchanting setup and some basic arcane magic skills, it shouldn't be too hard to make a keyboard charm that makes the surrounding area quieter.
"almost like a membrane keyboard" hello i use a membrane keyboard from like before 2000 most likely and NOW THAT I KNOW I CAN GET THE MEMBRANE FEEL IS SO EXCITING. eventually this thing is gunna break, tho ive used it for the past like 20 years. so when i eventually have to change keyboards, i will totally keep this in mind :)
tbh, I like your idea and fully support it, I just dont like the mushy sound coming out from the O-rings. Using silent alpakas are I think more silent aswell. But its a very nice idea, Ill try it aswell
I have been looking to get a keypad but I play index-ring finger. Is the gap in the middle on these enough or is there another keypad out there that works? Or should I just stick to the keyboard?
man i just can't find a keypad with 3 keys :( im playing with ring/index so its hard to play with 2 keys that are next to each other... Someone got recommendations?
Maybe the one that hugofrost used back in the days? It's a whole keypad but maybe you can change some of the switches to the one you like more (Talking about this one ua-cam.com/video/-PqTXeg2lbk/v-deo.html )
I need this... My mother always scold me every time i play osu Because it was hella loud. I tried to do that but it's still scold me idk if my mother just have a super hearing or smth.
Well I play better during night time for some reason idk if it's that my body is more relax and that its much more quiet with only the light of my monitor on, so this could probably help me not get evicted out of my apartment for constantly tapping while everyone is sleeping
This is the most cursed build i ve ever seen for playing osu, i ve literally need to switch my old keyboard because has silent red switch but the result match the intenction so well done... Pls dont try this at home

Oh sick its u
has your mapping improved
I hate you vids man ..
Mod the table so that the force being pushed down does vibrate the floor making it even more quiet
No need to buy heavy silent switches. You can simply take a spring from one of your preferred switches and put it in the silent red switch!
spring swap gang
what bout the padding ?

I know this is old but the reason the R1 OEM Keycaps felt weird was likely because keyboards are by default at an angle, and your keypad is not.
Do this but the loudest osu keypad
well, there some more quiet switches like Gazzew bobagum linears. they are literraly have no sound
Wake up babe new spazza video dropped
Gone all the way back to using a membrane keyboard, but expensive.
now make the loudest keypad

cherry reds kinda deteriorate over time and become less silent because the rubbers give in
Maybe can give xda profile a try? xda is the same height for all rows and it doesnt have the awkward angle that oem row1 has.

but might still opt for a cheap cherry mx clone silent switch
