You mentioned some major story elements that the MCU has only glossed over which is part of the reason why this Illuminati is pointless. The Civil War story line was all about "registering" any person with super powers so the government could monitor them. The MCU version basically turned that into the Sekovia Accords to just control the Avengers. And, ironically the Sokovia accords were names after Sokovia which was almost destroyed during Age of Ultron, when Wanda became an Avenger. Either way, after that movie, the whole concept of government oversight of superheroes went out the window along with any backlash from collateral damage caused by superheroes. They didn't even work with the government during infinity war and endgame which caused massive amounts of collateral damage. This stuff was a major plot point in the comics and they only briefly touched on it again in No Way Home, but only in reference to Spiderman. So, now in Wanda Vision and the Dark Hold (aka Multiverse of Madness), she is an Avenger who goes on a rampage and nobody notices. How is that? Everything that happened in Wanda Vision should have immediately put everyone on high alert and Wanda should be somewhere in a secure facility. The illuminati from some other universe shouldn't even be involved in this as it is purely about how this earth keeps track and monitors superheroes, as Wanda is an Avenger on this earth. Agents of Shield did a much better job of dealing with that in reference to the Inhumans but that story is not canon to the MCU. And the MCU is just ignoring that major theme of how humans suffer from these superhero conflicts.
Question: if your theory is true, who do you think would be the father of Wanda's kids in that Universe? love the vid btw, but valid question :) make a video about that, please!! :)
I would be shocked if we don’t see these characters again. Maybe different versions but this was merely a hint of what is to come down the road. It was a really cool scene and it shows us how limitless the possibilities for the MCU truly are going forward. Thank you for another great breakdown Paul 👍
That’s what I’ve been saying. A lot of people have been complaining that “Reed Richards is the smartest man alive yet he got killed that easily?” but I think some have failed to realize that they died that easily because of their arrogance. It’s a mirror of Stephen’s story arc in, not just this film, but his whole existence in the MCU.
The writer said that he killed them to show how deadly Wanda is and he got the inspiration from Alien where no matter how badass the space marines, the Alien owned them easily.
Yeah, trouble is that Aliens was a MUCH better written movie. The problem with super heroes is when you make them that powerful then there is really no drama. She can 'pop' peoples brains out, then why exactly does she need to drop a statue on captain marvel or have to throw a shield? Thats very obviously 'for effect', and putting htings in movies 'for effect' tends to make for lousy drama.
@@Robby_Rob imo it’s not silly when Wanda, a character that can warp reality, is that powerful, it makes sense. The movie did what it was trying to convey.

People always underestimate Wanda. In age of Ultron, if not for Hawkeye, every Avenger would be hexed. In this movie, the Illuminati feared Strange more than the Scarlet Witch. And they beat Thanos in Titan
I liked it a lot. They're all characters we know the power levels of already, or were quickly show in the movie. Taking down Thanos would up my hubris a lot too. Plus the teams represented are fun, and reflect some of the MCU future. Although with Kamala coming out, I can see her slot into Cosmic and not Inhumans at all, and keep that to ~ the Royal Family; in line with Eternals. I also saw somewhere (not sure if here or where) that Mordo will just bring them back with the time stone, so we could see these variants again. Avengers - Captain Britain Comsic - Captain Marvel Sorcerers - KARL Mordo X-Men - Xavier Fantastic4 - Reed Inhumans - Black Bolt

I agree, there's a difference between being dumb and underestimating, and I think we're meant to think they simply just underestimated Wanda. However, she used her mind to shut Black Bolts mouth, killing him, and Reed's reaction was to just reach out for her. I'm not sure what we're supposed to to think he was going to do, but that didn't seem like a smart move to make.
There are different types of intelligence. Reed is a science genius but a moron when it comes to war and diplomacy. You never reveal your secret weapon to your enemy. He also reacted stupidly after Wanda killed Black Bolt. He should have teleported everyone out so they could regroup and strategize
I've been thinking - if the Illuminati had had Steve instead of Peggy, things *might* have gone slightly differently since Wanda's version had always been kind to her.
I liked this version of the Illuminati. I think criticisms of their actions stem from expecting too much of them. Sure they're smart and powerful and all, but they've never dealt with a force as powerful as the Scarlet Witch before. They had no way of knowing what they were up against. And personally, I'm really glad the whole Tom-Cruise-as-alternate-Tony-Stark thing never happened. I only wish that Patrick Stewart's appearance hadn't been given away in the trailer. Krasinski got a pretty big reaction in the theatre when I saw it, and Stewart's arrival really should have gotten an even bigger one, but instead, it was met with silence.
I think the term for this trope is "Worfing" where you show how dangerous a new threat is by having it casually demolish your big gun(s) This happened to Worf all the time on ST TNG. The Illuminati scene could have played out several different ways but ultimately it was really just a story telling tool meant to show how powerful and how far gone Wanda had become. She was powerful enough to neutralize the Illuminati with a hand wave yet she chose sadistically ironic methods to murder them. Black Bolts Mouth, Captain Carter's shield, Reeds Pastanization, Captain Marvel who can take an Infinity Stone to the face gets squashed by a statue.
It was kinda shocking to see them die off so quick but at the same time I get it. People tend to doubt Wanda and how powerful she is but I think after this movie and specifically the scenes she takes the Illuminati out I don’t think anyone sill doubt her power again.
I loved the line up, it worked perfectly to bring in past heroes, some “what if” changes heroes, and some of the new heroes to be in one team. Yes, Wanda was able to go through them very quickly, but the Illuminati severely underestimated her and overestimated themselves. After all, they had just beat Thanos. Who is this child to them? Except she was being controlled by a different version of herself that nearly took out Thanos single-handedly, got extra juice from first the mind stone and then from Agatha, and has now lost her mind to the Book of the Damned. Their hubris is their greatest downfall. Which sounds pretty comic accurate to me.
Can we just talk about when Wanda838 gets control of her body again, she doesn’t question her surroundings or the events that unfolded, the first thing she thinks of are her children. That’s a GOOD mother.
I'll take my percentage now. It was incredible seeing the Illuminati get shredded, that is the price of their hubris. Plus because Wanda has been reading the darkhold she unlocked her full power that they didn't even know she had. Amazing scene. I'll send you my Venmo for my cut... 😂
I was annoyed that they were cheesed so rapidly, but I agree about their sacrifice adding to Wanda's danger. Different Universe = no real stakes for the 616. That's a bummer, but I think my pal Paul is correct, we'll likely see Jim/Reed getting to BE Mr. F in the F4 movie. Great job again, Spoiler-Man!
Professor X did die extremely easily especially considering he's at an older stage where his power has had time to grow past the levels of even x men apocalypse, would of appreciated atleast a small struggle considering they gave that to captain carter whos power is a bit of tren
Whoever made the movie is a witch, high ranking wizard in spiritual realm. Movie felt like a never ending psychedelic trip. Doctor strange did remind me of Nikola Tesla in facial appearance and reference of being a "master of some dark arts".
I think it was done for two reasons. To introduce the characters, but not the 616 versions and to show how powerful Wanda is. Though I think they were beaten more by their arrogance rather than how powerful, since other heroes working together may have been able to stop Wanda.
I just thought the lineup could’ve been better. Prof X and Reeds make sense due to introducing other “universes” (Fox). I was hoping for a Namor introduction honestly.
You think the F4 got snapped before getting their powers on 616? Maybe that's why they get it later compared to the 838 Fantastic 4. They had to delay the events that lead to their powers.
Stark gave up post Snap. In a universe where that doesn't happen, a lot of advancements can occur in 5 years when the smartest man on the planet has motivation; whether its Stark or Richards.
Exactly. They defeated Thanos. Why in the hell would they be afraid of Wanda? Reed warned her to stop because none of them had any qualms with her, and he was trying to lend her an olive branch. Nothing she had done couldn't be undone. He wasn't being dumb, he was showing mercy. The same way Wanda Prime promised to show Strange if he just gave her what she wanted.
it was great to see them in here, and I always like seeing the possible destruction of these heroes in other dimensions to show that they aren't invincible and can be beaten, raising the stakes
The DIY echo was hilarious. Agreed on Reed not knowing of 616 Wanda having Reality Stone powers & she just had their Wanda’s hex powers. Though I am sure we can all see the moment he knew he fcked up in his face before Wanda rings him out like a stretchy wet towel.
The defense of Reed's mistake doesn't make sense to me. Strange had already explained that his Wanda was coming and she's a major threat. Reed and the others knew dream possession was possible, so there was no reason to underestimate Wanda.
A couple of things: The Illuminati did send Hulk to a peaceful planet. He threw a tantrum and knocked the ship off course. Why doesnt Carter look older than Professor X? Was she frozen in ice as well?
I still can’t get over the fact that in a mostly bloodless superhero franchise they took the biggest fancasting coup in film history and popped his head like a balloon full of blood. Honorable mention Patrick Stewart…. Charles Xavier’s death was adorable.
I missed Namor and Iron Man, but I can understand why they made these changes anyway. To be honest I really liked that they were killed easily by Wanda, just shows how incredibly powerful she is. For those saying that wasn't comic accurate, you probably need to read the comics where Wanda goes crazy. She literally changes reality!
Appreciate your review and perspective perspective. I also had a problem with one to taken the Illuminati out so fast. Then I realized how powerful she actually was when she erased majority of the mutants by just saying no more mutants.
I liked it a lot. When Wanda 838 told the Scarlet Witch as she held her face "Know they will be loved" it touched me. When Peggy Carter got taken out I was temporarily traumatized by the way it happened. My sister, who's never read a comic and has only seen Ragnarok, said she liked it, said it was fun.
I think it was done pretty right as you say, show how powerful Wanda is, show how arrogant the illuminati are, and just introduce the characters. They will be back, in their 616 earth versions.
Personally loved the Illuminati, but I guess it wasn't everyone's cup of tea, loving your recent videos though! I've gotta get around to making a video on this movie myself some time though, anyways thanks for the great content regardless!
I was hoping they would have teased Wanda marrying Simon Williams in the 838 universe. It will be interesting if they do the malice storyline with Susan Storm as she’s the most powerful out of the Fantastic Four.
Why couldn't Wanda just kill everyone like she killed Mr Fantastic? I loved the Illuminati scene, but I also thought they came across SO much weaker than I thought. Yes, I know Wanda is hella powerful, but damn 😂 Especially professor X. Thought the homie could do more. To counter myself though... Wanda was just about to destroy Thanos ALL BY HERSELF in End Game, and it took all of them, PLUS Strange (using forbidden magic) to kill Thanos in their world. Sigh, it does make sense, but damn.
I understand creating hype for this movie but why show the Illuminati in the trailers at all?? Why show captain Carter? Why show Prof X? You know how crazy it would be in the theater if we didn’t know this before hand?? The hype would have already been there in the first place with this movie.
I dont know what all the complaints are about I loved this film! Just seeing epic characters like Black Bolt, Professor X and Reed Richards in the MCU made me so hyped for the future of the MCU, the next big film is going to be epic.
Because the "enemy" was possessing an innocent, of whom they actually knew. The last thing they wanted to do, was resort to violence. He warned her that Black bolt could end her life in an instant, in a bid to prevent her from attacking them at all.
The way Wanda killed the Black Bult was the most horrific death scene in the MCU so far. Talk about you "Out with a whimper"! And poor Professor X, I cringe just thinking about it. Wanda was truly terrifying in this film. Makes one truly fear the wrath of some mothers.
lizzie even said her self that she thought the fight between the illuminati should have been even EASIER but they decided it’s because she doesn’t have access to her full power because she’s in 838 wanda’s body not her scarlet witch self.
I agree that it was elevating her threat level by eliminating the Illuminati so easily, I just wish we got to see Reid Richards fight for as long as Captain Britain got to fight. We've seen the shield before for years.
Fun observation: just as No Way Home showed us the largest gatherings of the greatest minds in the MCU. Multiverse of Madness showed us the gathering of the most powerful people in Marvel. Black Bolt, Dr. Strange, Wanda, and Alternate Captain Marvel (keep forgetting her name) Black Bolt could easily wipe out Thanos' army. And I mean there would be nothing left. Literally. Also, three times they could've killed Wanda in this movie. But they blew it.
My biggest problem was that Pym wasn't on the team. Ultron was his creation in the comics and Stark doesn't seem to exist in this universe. Replacing him with Pym would have been a great nod to the source material.
This was a great way to introduce wide array of new characters and also serving their purpose without making the movie too confusing and leaving endless plotholes for future movies to come. The main timeline alone took marvel over a decade to get to Thanos haha can you imagine if we mix up and story tell the others as well? lol I'd be a grandad by then till mcu finishes lol

The teleportation of reed's looked very teseract-ish
I missed Namor and Iron Man, but I can understand why they made these changes anyway.
To be honest I really liked that they were killed easily by Wanda, just shows how incredibly powerful she is.
For those saying that wasn't comic accurate, you probably need to read the comics where Wanda goes crazy. She literally changes reality!
This is the one where she says no more mutants and the boom!
Appreciate your review and perspective perspective. I also had a problem with one to taken the Illuminati out so fast. Then I realized how powerful she actually was when she erased majority of the mutants by just saying no more mutants.
I love your channel so much!
thank you
You are very welcome! ☺️
When I saw the way Wanda killed Captain Carter I was sooo shocked but was loving every second 😂
Love the content and the jokes,
👌♥️
I liked it a lot. When Wanda 838 told the Scarlet Witch as she held her face "Know they will be loved" it touched me. When Peggy Carter got taken out I was temporarily traumatized by the way it happened. My sister, who's never read a comic and has only seen Ragnarok, said she liked it, said it was fun.
Your theory time actually makes a lot of sense
Just saw the movie, and you were the first stop for me to comprehend and see what I missed!
Love the humor great video
I think it was done pretty right as you say, show how powerful Wanda is, show how arrogant the illuminati are, and just introduce the characters.
They will be back, in their 616 earth versions.
So there were 6 members and now there is one
Mordo: Too many members
Personally loved the Illuminati, but I guess it wasn't everyone's cup of tea, loving your recent videos though! I've gotta get around to making a video on this movie myself some time though, anyways thanks for the great content regardless!
I was hoping they would have teased Wanda marrying Simon Williams in the 838 universe. It will be interesting if they do the malice storyline with Susan Storm as she’s the most powerful out of the Fantastic Four.
Illuminati were absolutely destroyed 😂😂🤣 in a funny a graphical and gory way
I got that Suicide squad reference, I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING LMAOFL THAT SCENE IS EXACTLY HOW IT WENT DOWN 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Why couldn't Wanda just kill everyone like she killed Mr Fantastic?
I loved the Illuminati scene, but I also thought they came across SO much weaker than I thought. Yes, I know Wanda is hella powerful, but damn 😂 Especially professor X. Thought the homie could do more.
To counter myself though... Wanda was just about to destroy Thanos ALL BY HERSELF in End Game, and it took all of them, PLUS Strange (using forbidden magic) to kill Thanos in their world. Sigh, it does make sense, but damn.
Sometimes the predator likes to play with their prey.
I like the stark differences between these cameos and NWH's cameos
I need John Krasinski to come back as Mr. Fantastic so bad. He’s so perfect imho. People hate him but I love him
Does this mean that the mcu captain marvel could be somewhere in the mutiverse too since shes always mysteriously gone
Love your videos always mate
much love
Let’s talk about why the smartest man in the universe immediately told Wanda how to stop Blackbolt 😭
Because the "enemy" was possessing an innocent, of whom they actually knew. The last thing they wanted to do, was resort to violence. He warned her that Black bolt could end her life in an instant, in a bid to prevent her from attacking them at all.
That backfired, obviously.
That Suicide Squad joke was a heavy one 🤣🤣🤣 I spit whatever I was drinking 😂
The way Wanda killed the Black Bult was the most horrific death scene in the MCU so far. Talk about you "Out with a whimper"! And poor Professor X, I cringe just thinking about it. Wanda was truly terrifying in this film. Makes one truly fear the wrath of some mothers.
I think Charles is still stuck in Wanda's mind and has stopped her from dying at the last moment in the climax
10:47 It’s thanks to Mr. Sunday Movies that I can never unsee Xavier’s stray eyebrow hair whenever I see this shot of him.
lizzie even said her self that she thought the fight between the illuminati should have been even EASIER but they decided it’s because she doesn’t have access to her full power because she’s in 838 wanda’s body not her scarlet witch self.
I agree that it was elevating her threat level by eliminating the Illuminati so easily, I just wish we got to see Reid Richards fight for as long as Captain Britain got to fight. We've seen the shield before for years.
Luv that one rant at 9:30
Ironically, Wanda killing the illuminati was my favorite scene in the movie.
So nice of Wanda to help Reed stretch before the fight
Great explanation! Wondering if they’ll keep the same actors, bringing them back under the “variant” label.
This video really was ''MIND-BLOWING''
After watching this yesterday at the 02 I can say that Namor was definitely correct in calling in sick. 😆
amazing. love it.
Love the jokes, keep em coming!!
Fun observation: just as No Way Home showed us the largest gatherings of the greatest minds in the MCU.
Multiverse of Madness showed us the gathering of the most powerful people in Marvel.
Black Bolt, Dr. Strange, Wanda, and Alternate Captain Marvel (keep forgetting her name)
Black Bolt could easily wipe out Thanos' army. And I mean there would be nothing left. Literally.
Also, three times they could've killed Wanda in this movie. But they blew it.
"What mouth?" I'm crying!!😂😂
9:57 this is what I love about this channel, the brutal self-awareness despite defending Marvel/Disney's side 😂😂😂 The humor is out of the park
Am here for the movie breakdowns I stay for the puns ❤️
My biggest problem was that Pym wasn't on the team. Ultron was his creation in the comics and Stark doesn't seem to exist in this universe. Replacing him with Pym would have been a great nod to the source material.
Thanks!
Always enjoy. Thank you sir!!!
Much appreciated
@@heavyspoilers gotta love..
theory time..echo
theory time..echo
theory time..
😆❤️👍
I love your sense of humor.
Theory Time, Theory time, theory time...😆😆😆 makes me laugh every time...
Love it!
