Looking at how Alan Wake 2 perform, it seems like getting 16GB is very reasonable these days. With Ray Tracing or not since it's very close even in 2024. I thought Forbidden West is already VRAM demanding enough but damn Alan Wake 2 are much worse. I guess if you are playing 1080p and 1440p, green cards are still decent because of the DLSS. One thing I have to tell you is that your fps overlay is not contrasty enough, especially in Forbidden West for example. It gets well blended together with the game. I wish you can change the color to something else. I'm watching on a phone and usually having hard time to spot and need to zoom in. This is just a constructive critism though. Anyway thanks for the thoughts. 🤷🏻♀️
AW2 is not a VRAM hog at all. 12GB is enough to run this game at native 1440p/Maxed out + PT + FG. Horizon FW and Ratchet & Clank definitely need more VRAM. With everything at max + FG even at 1440p they need more than 12GB to run properly. And HFW does not even have RT! This game is officially the main VRAM eater for the moment. Nixxes latest PS ports amaze by how inefficient they are, when it comes to VRAM usage.
i got msi gaming x slim(3fans) at the release. I wanted a relative small gpu(its about 30cm long and 2,5 slots) but not in exchange of thermals or noises(there are smaller versions). it doesnt need a holder or a very powerfull PSU, it is extremely quiet(i am very sensitive to sounds) and you dont have to tune absolutely nothing.Thermals are excellent, fans will run most of the time at 30%.(assuming you have a somewhat a proper case with ventilation, mine isnt anything special btw) there may be better versions for sure, but for my needs this card is more than i hoped. Also power consumption is on the lower end, despite being factory oc'ed. At the time i bought it, i installed a newer VBIOS for the gpu, because the first version was slightly behind than other versions in terms of perfomance. i dont know if that is the case nowdays but either way all you have to do is to download a file from the official website and run it.. if you want a relative small and quiet card, this is definately a choice you should consider. also you can read other critics from other users to be safe
Depends on the games you play. In some games the 5700X3D is significantly better than the 5600X. In others, not so much. What I'd do in this case is: buy the 4070 Ti SUPER and see how it goes. If the experience will not be satisfactory then upgrade the CPU to boost performance. You might be OK without spending the extra cash.
When even the card is bad. Its a 4070 ti super the6th Best card 😂😂😂 Of course is not bad its a high quality card and made for 1440p and also can play in 4k
Honestly how can you play with upscaling and frame generation enabled? Yeah, framerate is higher, but image quality is horrible. Are there any cards out there with pure hardware performance that don't have to destroy image quality to improve framerate? If you are going to trade quality for performance just set all settings to minimum without gimmicks like upscaling and frame gen.
Have you tried DLSS recently? You can't form a proper opinion about this technology if you only watch comparisons on UA-cam that have footage slowed down and zoomed in to show any visual imperfections. I was sceptical about DLSS before I tried it myself earlier this year.
@@theivadim I'm on a GTX 1060 so I haven't tried it directly but even your footage in this video looks a lot worse to me with DLSS. Image looks really muddy (I guess because of low resolution). Maybe it is using up all VRAM, so game has to use lower resolution textures or something. I'm considering building a desktop to replace my current laptop and 4070TiS was one of GPUs I considered (alongside 7900XTX that is the same price). But seeing these results, I refuse to pay over 1100€ for a card that can't play games at 1440p let alone 4k. Digital Foundry did analysis of DLSS and frame gen in CP2077 and to me those looked terrible. I guess all that I have left is hope that AMD will actually make something good with their next gen GPUs since Nvidia is just going to double down on AI, DLSS and price increase. I wish PC players would demand better looking games and not just higher FPS at any cost.
DLLS has come a long way. I'm not a fan of frame generation however, I still feel like they need to work on that. But these games are so taxing right now that DLSS really helps with performance while maintaining a very good image quality.

Hold your horses...I thought Nvidia cards can do path tracing?...900p internal resolution gets you 40 FPS, so balance most likely still won't get a consistent 60. So with so much compromise needed, why is there so much cope with path tracing?...$800 dollars this GPU cost with dedicated RT hardware for assisted help. Do people understand Path tracing will only get more difficult to run on these current GPUs, so choosing a GPU right now based on it's path tracing capabilities is ridiculously unwise.
@@theivadim nobody knows that. I'm specifically talking about path tracing. Because without RT, The 6800xt has been out for 4 yrs, and it's still out performing the 4070. The 3080 is still matching or out performing the 4070, 3090 is still out performing the 4070 super. 2-3 yrs, these current gen GPUs will be just fine, thanks to better upscalers and Frame generation. Nothing wrong with future proofing if you don't care about Path tracing, if path tracing is part of your future proofing plan, then it doesn't make sense buying GPUs from this gen.
@@RX7800XTBenchmarks I don't care about Pathtracing much, but I do about regular Raytracing. 4070 Super is a minimum when it comes to ideal cards without Frame generation usage. With Frame Generation, even the very hated 4060Ti 16GB becomes a fantastic card for 1440p and very nice even for 4K.

My 7900XT getting better FPS at those settings than much more expensive 4070Ti Super. But you paying for DLSS and Fake Generation, where AMD has better raw power, and also added it's own Fake Generation, which is very useful for AMD in the RT area, where 4070 handling way better, but still no without DLSS and FG, and FG is useful Only with 120hz or more TV/Monitors, because it's getting useless with 60hz as it's increasing only input latency significantly. I love my 7900XT, and I'm not Fan Boy, because if only 4070TI Super, wouldn't cost almost £800+ in my city, then I would choose 4070 over 7900XT for RT performance, but to be honest, £679 7900XT it's no brainer at this point, with better performance without RT, and justify enough RT with FSR and FG. Although most game with RT, doesn't actually justifying RT quality over the cost of it in terms of performance hit. High Native Resolution (4K or 3200x1800p), Ultra details, over 60fps in most games. 🤷🏻♀️
Good point. I'll look into the colour change to improve viewing comfort.👍
32GB costs barely any more than 16.

This would've been a much better video if it were some sort of screen capture situation.

What is the best budget am4 cpu for 4070 ti super at 1440p?
5700X3D or 5800X3D if it costs around the same.
@@theivadim in my country the price different is around $120, what should i get? Btw thx for your reply
If the difference is that much then there's no reason to pay extra for the 5800X3D. The 5700X3D offers almost the same performance. I'd get that.
@@theivadim oke, thank you. One more question please, i've already using 5600x, is it good to upgrade it to 5700x3d?
Depends on the games you play. In some games the 5700X3D is significantly better than the 5600X. In others, not so much. What I'd do in this case is: buy the 4070 Ti SUPER and see how it goes. If the experience will not be satisfactory then upgrade the CPU to boost performance. You might be OK without spending the extra cash.

Please guys don't buy a 4070ti super. In most country the 4070ti super cost the same or higher than the 7900XTX (929€ brand new without sale in France). And have way worse performance, ray tracing included, than the 7900XTX. Even if the 4070ti super is lower than the 7900WTX in your country. That's a small price gap for so much performance by going for a 7900XTX.
Plus due to the very low VRAM for such high price. You can't truly enjoy 4K (because in every modern game, due to DLSS taking more VRAM, many texture will be cut down, or performance drop)

Even without ray tracing, these GPUs will suck in games that'll be coming out in 2-3 years from now. Future-proofing is not good.
Well you can use Frame Generation
@@RX7800XTBenchmarks
I don't care about Pathtracing much, but I do about regular Raytracing.
4070 Super is a minimum when it comes to ideal cards without Frame generation usage.
With Frame Generation, even the very hated 4060Ti 16GB becomes a fantastic card for 1440p and very nice even for 4K.
Path tracing is still very demanding but can run easily with framegen and dlss. Base ray trscing running superior on this cards.
Also the 3090 not faster than a 4070s as i had both. The 4070s just faster in every way.
We need to get used to its no more native resolution anymore. It will be upscaler like dlss and fsr and frame generation.
This gen u need a 4070s and you sorted as has frame gen and superior dlss.

@@Fronioll9973 Like I've said, 4070Ti Super is way more expensive, and at 7900XT price I could get max 4070Super or Ti with lower end models. So for my budget 7900XT doing everything I want to, and it's strong enough to not using FSR at all, which is bad anyway (FSR 3.1 is a bit better than 2.2, but nothing near to DLSS).
If I would have more money, I would go with Nvidia for sure, it's just for what I want, and my budget, 7900XT is more than enough.
Also you sounds like Nvidia Fan Boy here, cuz you trying to compare 2 different GPUs prices.. 800£+ vs 679£+.. nearly 200 more for a better RT ( but nothing spectacular without FG) and fewer FPS without RT (few more in 2-3 games) + you yelling at me only bcs I have good opinion about AMD lol
