Much better sponsor than he who must not be named, good for you!
I like the game a lot but it will take 3 lefetimes to unlock everything.
u def can tell he went insane editing when he started jump cutting to the syllables of what he was saying
@@untitledisdead damn, didn't think anyone would notice that
I’d love to imagine a group of survivors coming to the mall and just seeing all the blood and bodies everywhere thinking a massive fight happened and they just get to a roof to find a dude just chilling living his best life
"sup.....got a beer?"
I think they would run before going on the rooftop because if there are so many dead bodies what if there is something more dangerous inside.
Unless they see a dude killing a entire army of zombies all alone during the night
Lol it would be so epic to see a rambo-esq dude just slaying zombs on a rooftop! @skygin5758
If the the sign of all the dead zombies are still fresh, you will definitely taken the chances to find the ones that did it.
"Oh hey. Got any smokes?"
This is the best project zomboid video I've ever seen. It's hardcore. It took actual skill. It tells an actual story. The editing is GOOD. It explains everything. This is amazing. I hope it goes viral.
Appreciate it!
Check out his louisville rooftop if you havent. I just discovered him through it 10 hours after this video was published and its great.
Agreed
It found me.
Viral nice word choice
The only issue I have with these challenges, is that if the zombies constantly respawn, just, good god it never stops. I couldn't do it. You have my applause for doing this challenge, but, the constant respawning zombies somewhat makes the point moot, but, still a fun watch.
You can modify the respawn rate in the game
@@zachbowen6828 ^ yes, you can make them not respawn at all, so clearing out an entire town can give you a safe space
also as far as i know in the video, the zombies weren't respawning. there was just that many of them. Because in default settings only a small amount of zombies respawn after like a month in-game or something.
zombie hordes passing by
You can modify the spawn rate, for the most authenticity and set the base amount really high but respawns to 0
I agree it feels like there is never any permanent progress being made
38:48 this montage is incredible. I dont know the pain of creating it, but i know the euphoria of experiencing it. Thanks for your craft

This is the kinda zombie movie I need, just a dude killing untold thousands of zombies, surviving, adapting, and not a single human romance drama in sight.
God you're SO right, I think zombie shows would be significantly improved if there was 99% less human drama.
I actually prefer the alternative; the same as above, except there's two humans. Not romance partners, but like, friends who are just surviving together and didn't know each other until the apocalypse.
Either that or two brothers that help each other
Yeah, yeah, I get wanting to see cooperative human relationships.
So basically Doom but movie?
"The military would totally fall in (Insert game's) zombie apocalypse!"
1 guy with a lead pipe in said apocalypse killing thousands of zombies in a week :
Haha yeah. But according to this games clever backstory the Knox virus was seemingly airborne and only those immune to airborne virus didn’t turn. But those immune could still turn with fluid transmission like a bite. Which would explain why so many people could turn when they are such easy zombies to kill
@@sauceboss1846 Still. Let's say that it has a 90% infection rate. You would still have thousands upon thousands of trained Marines, Army, Navy etc. In a reality where zombies are mindlessly seeking out food and shambling. No military would ever logically fall.
But the point about the actual outbreak is well noted. :)
@@Unethical.Dodgson
I know it's a matter of math and logic but your math isn't adding up because you are assuming that when the military bases are caught up in the infection at least 10% would be able to survive completely unharmed
but the thing is this all depends on the scenario, imagine this, one deep breath while they are doing their daily training and it's haywire from then on with people inhaling and turning from the airborne virus, if you were doing jumping jacks with 9 other squadmates on the field and they turn, are you confident that you will be walking away scot-free? (not how the Knox infection works in game as infected personnel slowly develop symptoms before dying and suddenly reanimating)
I love it when my comment gets deleted by UA-cam spam detection
@@Unethical.Dodgson Lets say only .01% of people were immune to airborne, then it becomes a lot more likely. or even .1%.
The fact that your game crashed and that was the end of the game and not being devoured, I think it can be counted as a victory.
I really appreciate the editing effort you put into it and the many many hours of gameplay
That was his character taking control of his own life, after Rick set him up for success.
So like a kill screen

And one dude chilling on the roof xD
Editing your gunshots to be timed with the music has earned my utmost respect and admiration. I know it took you a long time to do and was a major tedious pain in the ass but I appreciate the masterpiece you’ve created, it was beautiful. 37:45-38:57

Its funny to me that surviving, looting and fighting endless hordes of the undead for a 100 days scored you 20k kills. But as soon you used fire, it almost got the same score in a single day. Fire is broken
You realize fire ia very dangerous ans risky. Just becauae something can be done differently wih wngwnuity ans skill. Doesnt make it broke. Why do so many people get convinced everyrhing is broke in the cases its not. A work in perspective will help you alot in life. Btw rip to all those people that tried fire burned the town ir neighborhood down and most of the time themselves with it. Thats usually a reset cause supplies burn away. Atleast for several people that would be a reset
Also he wasnt non stop killing every day..
yeah but also that same fire would burn down the entire mall, which is why the game kept crashing lol
@@quarreneverett4767 fire is not dangerous compared to fighting them normally. all you have to do is walk in circles around a horde in a field and you will be safe from fire, hand to hand combat you can die very easily from a mistake.
fire hot
The tedium of the gameplay mirroring what I could only imagine would be the actual monotony of surviving a zombie apocalypse is actually brilliant game design.
I a sense yes, but also no. It is realistic in a way no other game is (maybe except for CDDA), but also boring as shit. The real challenge for me if I were to try this would be finding the time to play and getting myself to spend countless hours doing menial and boring shit, not even being paid or forced to do it. That's what made this more impressive than anything for me.
58 thousand people used to live here. Now its a Ghostmall
54:15
This ENTIRE section is why I tend not to mess around with crafting overhaul mods too much. Lord knows its a total mess once you get more then one person's mod series. "Oh you need bolt cutters from The Crafting Overhaul, not Tim's Hardware+!" "Oh, yeah, you need broken glass, but only the kind you get from breaking glass windows, not the kind you can get from breaking plates and mugs."
Its one of the reason I can't wait for build 42 to rework the crafting (and so we can maybe get some compatible crafting mods)
Oh my god I know, I had fun editing it but it's a nightmare. The loot was completely off too, so much stuff just didn't spawn lol
@@Ricksdetrixdamn. Hope you will do this concept again. Maybe without the crafting mods will be a reason? Idk any reason to see this again. I love this series and concept so much. Also you’re so dope for using the sims 2 music
I hope someone takes on the task of making a cross compatibility mod, that lets crafting recipes work as long as the tool is right for the job or right material, maybe once they make it they can release some sort of documentation for mod authors to add something that lets their mod auto work with others as long as the compatibility mod is installed, maybe some sort of tag for the item, that allows it to work universally for any recipes that need a tool or material of that tag
Doesn't help that navigating the crafting menu in PZ is like using a Windows Vista era program.
@@lavoroxan8114Hey! Windows Vista worked!
Major props on your storytelling skills. You made me actually, physically sick with tension wondering whether your poor character could survive that fire. It's almost like sitting around a campfire with you telling ghost stories. You have a real talent for this.

"But they're still people"
"Guess why I'm killing them"
Massive "I am Legend" book vibes from this. Robert Neville goes on killing sprees from sheer frustration as well, the game (and yourself) capturing that spirit is very impressive.
Your character has to be one of the most badass zombie protagonists ever, thousands of zombies killed with basically no sleep and for a time no food
This is what PZ youtube needs. So much work, and so much care put into your videos. The viewer never feels left behind, your explanation and montages make sure of it. I wish more people followed your approach to content. Very well done.
This would make a really good documentary. After the apocalypse, the whole state was retaken by the US military and found a mall, half burnt down with bodies and problem furniture everywhere, on the roof they see a guy chilling in a wooden shack and a farm, with random thin wooden bridges connecting everything.
Imagine the legend this guy would have in a Zombie Apocalypse. He killed enough zombie to fill a small city and alone cleared a mall to live in.
That editing style where you sync the crunches of head-splatters to the beat of the music will never get old to me. It must take so long to do, but it makes such a difference in the flow of your narrative. Amazing content.
Don't know how you didn't lose the will to live after that amount of editing. Especially the timing of kills in sync with the music. Props to you man
Who says he didn't
The syncing of the music with the kills in the beginning are hilarious.
I love this video, you can just sense the passion he has for the game and for videomaking
I love when people time actions to music. Tickles a nerve.
This is an unprecedented narrative experience that you have to see to believe. Loved the meticulous detailing like syncing pipe slaps to the beat of your score. Great stuff.
Please never stop making videos like this, can never get enough!

@@Ricksdetrix ohh that makes more sense thanks for the clarification

I think the best enjoyment I had out of this video is the amount of references/songs I immediately recognized, and how you edit your montages in sync with those. Absolutely awesome video, 10/10, take my sub.
The Darktide soundtrack instantly won this video a like. So freaking good, and the edit was perfect!
Very impressed and inspired by this. I haven't played PZ in many years but I've supported it since the beginning with it's very first version. This video was incredibly made, good work.

This video is truly peak, Its my first time coming across this channel and its already unfathomable the hours it took to play but the editing must of been even more. This is a full production and I am here for it.

Love the video. The *squish* montages were great and especially to the beat, that was brilliant. Also really appreciate the "Lisa The Painful" OST use, don't hear that enough in my opinion haha. Great video man, or videos I suppose.
This series was amazing. Waiting every week for a new episode was awesome. I actually don't remember how often the videos came out, but I remember being really excited to watch them.
After struggling myself so much with this map, this is the breath of air I needed
THE MUSIC editing is just out of this world. I cant get enough of it
With that display of gunplay, you are now an Honorary American.
Clearly this mans potential is being held back by there not being a zombie apocalypse happening

I watched these, episode by episode as they came out, and I said then what I say now. The best PZ series.
That "I'll kill them all" montage up to 5000 kills has massive Romero Dawn of the Dead vibes.
I just found this channel, and am at 38 minutes of this video. The edit of shooting with the music is actually what impressed me the most probably, even through you say timing is bad xD. The sheer amount of work and care put into it. Subbed :) I'll keep watching now.

I swear the PZ zombie death sound is the most majestic audio file ever concocted
absolutely phenomenal editing and pacing. only halfway through and already loving it! i’ve gotta say i’m a bit jealous of how calm you managed to stay in so many hair-raising situations!
the timing of bullets to beats in the song is the best part imo. I know of only a few people that do this in their videos, and you are by far the most skilled at it.
it just cant imagine the amount of work it takes to sync all those bits of fotage to the music
Honestly, seeing three or more zombies coming at me leaves me panicked irl. Don’t know how he beats back hordes of hundreds at a time.
Montages or not this requires so much editing, time and patience. So kudos to what you've done here. And even though I just found your channel and have never really played Zomboid I have found the content to be interesting.
Ive never seen or played this game but you've made it so interesting to watch. The game is incredibly in depth it blew my mind!
I'm in Melbourne, Australia, so I'm watching this with just over 3 hours to go until 2024. Honestly a great way to be spending the end of 2023. I love watching you win at this game (and those tasty kill montages). Keep it up!
The syncing with the music has singlehandedly made this the first 100 days video ive ever watched to completion. its amazing!

Mate, i gotta say, this is the most satisfying version of a highlight VDoc, Ive ever seen. The way you incorporate the notes to character movement. And the Beethoven🫡🫡!! On point!! From a yank who laughed at your gun jokes, to a fancy chap; this VDoc is killer, no wonder it has over 1.5 mill views. By far the best synchronization I’ve seen since Halo and Napalm Death.
Amazing story, I love watching these to pass time. Thank you, please continue to make more of these !
i dont usually press the like button on videos, but synchronising hits to music multiple times in one vid makes my brain happy, and i KNOW that's a pain to do, earned my "like"

Oh yeah, fence cheese works with guns too.
Electrical was thankfully very easy to level in the mall with all the computers and things on the roof
I get that
This might be a weirdly specific compliment but I feel like you might get a kick out of it. You are one of the only content creators that I can watch without increasing the video speed. The pacing of your videos and your rate of speaking are just perfect. You'll hit 100k in no time!

The Necromancer theme and Darktide were excellent music choices.
Nice work man, really enjoyed the entertaining video. Picked up PZ again and came across this video in my feed. As a side note, I kinda dig the MANY MANY montages. lol
Lining up the melee hit sounds with the music multiple times in the video was such a nice and entertaining touch!
Its vids like these that make me wish I could really "get into" zomboid sooo badly. Unfortunately I find myself getting very overwhelmed and therefore easily burnt out as I'm still very new to the game and learning its ins and outs seems incredibly demanding. Keep up the great content man, these movies are great binge material!!
My advice: use the starter kit (custom difficulty). Go down swinging with the bat a few times just to get used to the combat controls. (Don't use the tutorial for this, the tutorial does a lot of weird things). Once you have the basics down, then try to actually survive a few days.
