- I found that the microphone port for the external microphone is metal and it comes in contact with the head unit housing. i pulled the back cover off the head unit and put some heat shrink around the mic port and reassembled the head unit. i now have a clear microphone and people can hear me clearly.
Thanks for the simple fix. Good troubleshooting!
I plugged in an external mic, and it's working, but the internal one's still on. How can I turn it off?
Please help 🙏
Same brand joying
I have a radio (SKU: JY-HQ123N4G) JOYING Android 10.0 and I have a problem with the mic when I talk on the phone, it sounds low. Could you tell me how to get to the mic setting and be able to upload it more. I also tried with the external mic and still the same... thanks
Yeah I've got the same issue with mine one, it's a little fustrating that there is no setting (At least my version) in the software to increase the gain/sensitivity.
It looks as though Joying released a newer version (Maybe just a software update) it would be interesting if that has the same issues.
Hi mate, I have this issue too, did you test it first with the supplied microphone to see if the heat shrink fixed the problem or the new microphone fixed the problem? Thanks
Following up, I just took the back off, opened up the hole with an 8mm drill bit and vacuum in place, did the heat shrink trick and plugged the supplied mic back in and it has solved the problem. I did have to pull the front off to reattach a metal plate that I guess helps act as a heat sink to one of the components. Thank you for your fault finding and very helpful video!
@@jamespatterson4141 I'm glad I could help. I never tried the original mic as I broke it in a rage. I could never understand why it was playing up lol. But when I found the problem I knew straight away that this was why.
