At least you can access the starter from above, despite it's a hassle. Not having to remove the entire front nose or axel assembly with the subframes to access the starter. Starters never randomly go bad unless they where dipped into water or have heavy moisture damage(aka short circuit). Usually a bad starter is a indicator of other issues that may have gone undetected. Goes also for very old cars where the starter is wiped out cause it would never start right in the first place. You should make more of these videos. Also how you can remove stains from a carpet.

      That's a load of BS.
Starters go bad after 5-8 years - it's a wear and tear item like anything else that operates day in, day out. Hondas, Toyotas, most Fords are easy to access, bolt-in, bolt-out. Not a big deal

Most of the videos I see access starter from underneath the car. This procedure seems to be much easier. Which way is best?

Hello @vh8765, we prefer approaching this one from the top. Great question, thanks for posting!

Did you have to use a breaker bar? The angle for the bottom bolt is so awkward that a ratchet knuckle doesn't work

It was the tool of choice @frankenstein82.

Is this a 2013 model year or 2014 model year? My 2013 model year Accord Sport does not look like this engine. Oil fill on other side, left side as looking at the engine from front bumper. What engine? 6 or 4 cylinder?

It's been awhile since we did this one @Richard-xe1it. I'm pretty sure it's a V6.

Yep, yours must be the 4 cylinder motor then.

@@vnessanunez320 thanks. I’m 66. In my younger days no problem crawling under a car on Jack stands, not so much now. Maybe you can come replace mine for a small fee. LOL

I’m just wondering why no one is talking about the service bulletin that requires you to rotate the flywheel bolt 1 bolt over. There’s a service bulletin on starter fault. And it comes from the flywheel.

We aren't familiar with that TSB @PSimon-xr3pw. Thanks for posting about it here for the benefit of others!

DOES NOT APPLY TO 4 CYLINDER. Would’ve been great information before I removed my entire battery, luckily not much work to put it back

She needs to be more specific this information is not accurate for a 4 cylinder 4 door sedan.
