(Side note: This EXACT error happened literally one month after Honda Care expired on my 2013 Accord EX that I was paying a note on.)
One of my good friends is my dedicated mechanic and he works for Honda in the NYC area. Between me, his customers at work, the people on your thread, Honda forums, and 1/2 of the internet, too many people have this expensive and potentially deadly problem.
Honda should DEFINITELY issue a recall.
Yuppp they defiantly should and on the oil consumption
I just came back here to say thank you. I took out the module and soldered those broken wires and all lights are gone now. You saved me a lot of money. Thanks again!

Having the same issue with my son’s 2013 Honda Accord. The dealership quoted $2,600 to fix it. Ouch. I checked for recalls, but none issued yet. However, lots of complaints filed. I would encourage anyone having this issue to file a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It’s the only way Honda will take responsibility for it.
Not only this is expencive repair but imagine ur car out of control 80MPH and the contacts internally move and boom no control over car this is dangerous for driver and other on the road
I had this exact scenario happen to me recently on a 2011 Honda Accord V6 at about 75 mph ! The car lost all steering and the brakes were gone. The car spun wildly across both lanes. God was looking out for me as the car ended up in some soft sand on the side of the road. The only damage was some plastic on the front bumper from the impact of short and thin width mile marker sign. The Arizona Highway Patrol and local county Sheriff were dispatched. They were amazed that the car was not damaged. I no longer trust driving the car so it will have to be sent off to Honda dealership soon. @@RBTheMechanic

Yeah
Great video! I had the same issues with my 13 accord LX-S coupe. Rather than buying a new or used module off eBay, I decided to tear into the module and repair it myself. It took some research, trial and some error but it’s fixed. Commonly, it seems, the electro-welded connections inside the module with very thin, very soft wires come disconnected from vibration. I had no wiring diagram but tested continuity to find the broken connection. Soldered new wire on and good to go!
Niceee I need more information u have some pictures? I still have the old moduel I will check it out it makes sense how light came on and off maybe contact bounced around from vibration

Hey Brodda! Amazing video!!!
I have a 2014 Honda Accord with the same issues. What is the part number for the module?
Idk the part number u have to search it on eBay or buy new one goes by the year make model
Hey, so interesting video. I gotta ask though, why do it this way? If you already have another VSA modulator, it is pretty easy to remove the old one and pop the new one in. You are splitting the old one in half, splitting the replacement in half, trying to get the pins to all fit back together, risking that the unit isn't sealed up correctly....seems like a lot of work and risk for no reason. It is pretty straightforward to take a flare nut wrench and undo the brake lines, swap the unit out (you already took off the bracket mounting bolts in your method in order to jam the unit sideways) and then tighten down the brake lines again. Just a thought for others who come by and watch the video here
I use to do lot of these on older vehicles before I started UA-cam … if u change the whole thing u need to bleed and do big long process I actually recommend the whole thing to customer but he said to change the moduel only which I have no complaint for doing I prefer it this way!!!

Hey. So I got a 2014 Honda Accord. The ldw, fcw, and traction control lights came on like 6 months ago. Now the abs and break light are on. I’ve replaced the brake, speed sensors, calipers, rotors, new brake fluid. The lights are still on. The 38-11 code was on along with 81-19 and 81-20 which 19 is the yaw rate sensor and 20 is the acceleration sensor. But say they’re in the modulator control unit, internal circuit malfunction. You think the abs module is responsible for all that? Or is the modulator control unit something else?
Ur model is the issue
Hello! Great vid. How long is the flex head ratchet you was using ?

I have an 08 accord v6 and all the brake lights are on and when I press on the brake I can hear a clicking from the gear shift solenoid that I never heard before. Could that have something to do with the lights being on?
No I think that suppose to click to allow u to shift
Question when u install the new module do u have to program with the computer or no need to program it?
Don’t need to program!
I have a 2014 Honda Pilot touring and I get the vsa and abs and Break light on and I got the code 121-11 and it says it’s the vsa solenoid valve malfunction and do u think it would work if I just change the part u changed on the Accord in the video just the Computer part ??

Hi
I tried several times to loosen the lower bolt among the three bolts that the module is attached to, but I couldn't.
It is difficult to insert a long connecting bar, the direction is not correct, and it is difficult and too difficult to check the attached bolts. Any good ideas on how to solve it?
This is the only way should be simple and easy
Thanks for video, i could not get the 4 small lines nuts loose, i tried Gearwrench flare nut spanner and sidchrome, and this is the only option for me,

Thanks for the detailed video!! We're having the same issue on a 2014 Accord; however, I confirmed that both rear hub bearings are bad. The parts will be in this week to swap. These lights used to come on and off periodically, now constant. I'm wondering if the bad rear hubs have been the culprit all along. I'll follow up when I swap out the rear hubs. Thanks again!

I have 32-11 ABS Solenoid Valve Malfunction. How much will it cost to fix. Honda 2011 V6 EX
If u can get the used moduel u can put it in urself … part can cost like $240
I am having the same issue with my 2015 accord exl-v6. Went to a local auto zone and rain diagnostic. Code was 38-11 abs solenoid valve malfunction. It also states fcw system failed. The new abs module is way too expensive $1300. Is it okay to drive without replacing it or should I get fixed? Can I use the abs module from ex or exl v4 vehicle or it has to be from my exact car model exl-v6?
Not sure if that would work why don’t I send out the abs moduel they charge $250 on eBay search for abs moduel repair and sent them a message and u can have mechanic put it in. U can see how easy it is when I do it
@@RBTheMechanic thank you. I’ll contact eBay people. The lights come and then go away. The lights don’t stay on permanently.
VSA DTC 38-11 stored/ Rec replace
VSA modulator and bleed system.
$1927.91
This is what my local Honda service team quoted me. Is the abs module and vsa modulator the same thing?
@@khanchango same that’s expensive
Is it normal to hear hizzing sound like air relieving on that area and i have the same lights on. I got the lights to come on after i took my 2014 civic to the honda dealer's auto shop when they washed the engine to make repair on my transmission.
Ur pump might be bad or leaking pressure
Thank you for quick response and I'll try to tighten some screws and I'll go from there to take it professional mechanics. Thank you.
If you solder and replace or have the part fixed via ebay, what do you do to ensure there is a good seal between the two parts?
They seal it up I guess they do it good or y can use some type of sealer on top to make it better
@@RBTheMechanic Any recommended seal to use between the VSA Module and VSA Motor? Do I need a seal or does the part just lock back into place?
2013 Honda accord My power steering light came on the dash that’s the only light on though would this be the same issue also ? can’t turn my steering wheel either
Prolly not I would scan the car for codes in all modules but possability this can be
Would this be a possible issue for Honda civic 18 I am getting the steering light, check charge system, and brake system lights coming on but I took it to the dealer and they checked the battery and it’s goo. What would be a common issue for this?
If ur getting check charging light it’s possability ur alternator is bad
@@RBTheMechanic initially when I was having this issue it was also setting off my ABS light and it would blink for a few seconds before turning off and it hasn’t come back on since. I will have it checked thanks love your videos
one more question RB. IfI take my module out for repair will my car still drive? Do you know who repairs these? Ordered twice off of eBay and they wont program to my car Tks
I don’t have answer for that because it’s not safe to drive without it but I had customer whole had me take it off so he can send it out and he drove back home like 12 miles and once he had it repaired he drove it back to me to install it but it dosent have stability control any more so it wouldn’t be safe to drive
My car accord has the same issue but it also ravss on park and the battery dies any feedback?
It might be diffrent issues start with scanning the car for codes in all moduels with good high end scan tool
Hello sir my car has the same issue is your shop in Houston texas if not do you know a mechanic here that you recommend ? Thank you
No, sorry but this is easy to replace if u want to do it urself
Did you have to program the new module?
Good question and since this is used out of same year make model. NOPE!! Don’t need programming by the way there’s sun guy on eBay that can repair ur old moduel u take it out send it and they fix it and send it back like $240
Same issue. My question is. Do we have to take to dealer to program a repaired module?
No not if u buy used one or send out ur old one to have it repaired
Hey! 2008 accord with solenoid malfunction. If I buy a salvage part, do I need to have the dealer reprogram or will it clear lights and codes / work automatically?
1:18 also is this part expensive? I think I’m going to do as one viewer suggested & complain to National Highway Traffic. Honda needs to do a recall if it’s something as important as this. Thank you so much!
Yes expencive but u can take out ur old one and send it for repair on eBay they sell service search and moduel repair
I have a 2013 sport model, only lights I have come on are the TPMS, Steering and traction. The TPMS blinks and then stays on along with the Steering and traction. I do have 19 inch wheels and stock are 18 inch wheels. Idk if that would be the cause of the issue. Dealership in Paramus (DCH Honda) told me that it was because I have 19s installed. Any info on that? Thanks in advance.
I think that is the issue but we could be wrong my friend had 19 and he’s fine so far been months. Scan the car see what are the codes. Also u can go back to stock and give it a test
@@RBTheMechanic Got it scanned and it said it was wrong wheel diameter. But I had 19s for two years and it started happening in November.
@@AllMoneyIn123 yup then that’s what it is
@@RBTheMechanic Back to stock size 18s then. Thank you for the help I appreciate it.
Update*** I went back to stock 18 inch wheels. Lights didn’t go away, days before I installed the rims the ABS and brake light came on. Abs and Brake light come on and go away when they feel like it. Any info on why this could be happening? Thank you for your time and videos.
@RBTheMechanic
I saw an ebay listing that ABS module can be taken off and the car can still be driven as long as that hydrolic pump remains in place. do you think that's a good idea?
Also, I get this FCM failure warning but I don't get any codes. Is there something cheaper I should try it out first?
Yes but only problem is if car skids slips slides there’s no control
@@RBTheMechanic I mean I got all those lights on so I assume even now I would slip and slide. Right?
I do have same issue with my Accord coupe, i will try your solution today and i hope it will be fix, BTW, sometime with bad road condition when i press the break its feels like empty and i just replace the old break with new and everything is good but sometime in bad road condition when i press the break it feel like empty do you think i have the same issue,( i do have the same light and i went to mant mechanic and they all said everything is good under the car please advise.
It could be traction issue when on bumpy road or this abs is not working
@@RBTheMechanic the break issue showing on bad road and bumpy otherwise its good,, the ABS mark and steering mark is showing anyway in the dash same in your video
So you said I can remove the module on a v6 without disconnecting the brake lines? Once I send the module out what do I suppose to do with the remaining portion of the module that is attached to the brake lines. Do I have to cover that area ?
U cone need to cover it cover the connectors and just to let u know u can’t drive even though it’s drivable but not good idea
@@RBTheMechanic it's there like some type of caps or something I can buy from the store to put on the brake lines once I remove my abs box ?
Hey rb I got a couple of question with my car having this problem is there anyhow I could give you call?
Sorry I don’t talk on phone only donrepairs if u require me to but u can ask me here
Hey RB, can you drive while the black module is being repaired?
I wouldn’t recommend it not safe car can loose control
7/20/24 1:18 I have 2013 Honda according to my ABS light came on with the steering light traction light & tire pressure. Code read ABS sensor front driver. Put new sensors on the front. Both driver & passenger side. Put new breaks & rotors too. All lights are still on. You think it’s this ?
Scan the car for abs moduel and it will give u codes
Thanks for the video. Where are you located by the way?
I’m in north nj Bayonne
Thanks for Video...
I have the same problem my 2013 Honda Civic ex has the abs vsa power steering on the iem. The problem is that as long as the ac is not on the lights do not come on yet when I turn the ac on the lights come on within a few minutes. Do you guys think that it could be that I have a low battery in my car? My car battery is 2 years old
It could be battery or alternator
Check ur battery connections also
Okay will check thank you
I have a 2016 Accord with the 2.4l engine. The gauges are flickering and it won't crank. I put in a new battery and it still does the same thing. Any suggestions?
With new battery it’s still flickering?
@@RBTheMechanic Yes, the gauges are still flickering with the new battery
How do you know if it’s the module or the pump that’s the problem? Thank you for the info so far
Good question the codes in the title are the reason they r inside the moduel so scan the car for codes in abs moduel
@@RBTheMechanic ok thank you!
I drive a 2013 Accord touring. I got LDW, FCW, traction, tpms, steering lights on my dashboard. Any advise can I drive with these lights on? Or of i need to fix what is the solution
U can drive with it but u gotta fix the issue it may not have stability when needed scan the car for codes with high end scan tool take it to good mechanic shop
