Aluminum hoods are way lighter than fiberglass. remember that 2015 mustang gt i worked on the customer wanted it to transform into a wanna be shelby gt350...
took off aluminum hood & its aluminum fenders the customer supplied their new fiberglass cowl induction hood, fiberglass fenders, & fiberglass front bumper...
Just the hood: he gained around 15lbs by swapping from aluminum to fiberglass
The downfall for that is finding a company that has them or fabrication of one myself. Idk if i feel like doing all of that 🤣
@@WARGaragenick7125 I'll keep my eyes & ears open on aftermarket/ custom aluminum parts.
Also doing some researching & future trail & error on making a newer style hood (all aluminum) utilizing that & some possible mild body work- on a form of retrofittings... newer vehicles are utilizing aluminum panels more & more as time progresses🤔
