We feel the same way. It’s the texture for me. Blah. The flavor is fine, but it is just dry and mushy. We added mustard the last time we had it, and it was a little better, but a vegan tartar or vegan remoulade would definitely improve it. I also feel like if it was a little less thick and cooked a little longer it would improve the texture. I’m thankful for the option, but it’s definitely not our first choice at MK.

I’ve had this a few times. The first time it was very cold. So cold that I thought it was supposed to be cold. But I’ve had it a few times since and it’s been hot. It’s not the worst option. A good sauce can make it a lot better.
Never tried the Doom Burger… bun looked so huge and so dry. I did try this the last time I was there. I brought my own packet sauce in preparation and ordered it with the green beans, not fries. I really enjoyed it. Everyone’s different! I’m going to be getting it again. Not huge choices of QS at MK. Always do Skipper’s Canteen no matter what.
Scat Cats has a vegan spicy remoulade on the crab cake slider. Why can’t they just use the same one there 🤷🏻♀️ At least the ginormous onion slice is gone 🤣
This is why i’ve given up on eating out because I’m a 10 times better chef than these guys. My recipe for vegan crabcakes is amazing. I use hearts of palm, chickpeas, and the fat part from artichoke hearts blended in from 1 whole can and also fold in fat part from 1 can as well, and it’s not dry at all, it even has the fatty bits. I stir in pulverized nori sheets, onion and green onion, breadcrumbs, mustard, mayo, and I dip em in just egg and panko. They freeze great too! I combined best parts from vegan hugs recipe and hot for foods recipe. Google em. And double the chickpeas and hearts of palm
Totally understand. There are often times I know how I could make this better. But when on vacation you're at the mercy of whats offered. Your recipe sounds delicious though!
i think it would be better just not being a burger… serve it with some nice relish and a side of green beens or something and would be a lovely light meal for the florida heat

Yes I feel the same way. It’s just not anything I’ll eat again haha

Now that I think about it I think the first time I had it it was cold. But this one was hot....

Skipper Canteen is always the best choice!

At least the ginormous onion slice is gone 🤣
The only redeeming thing was removing that onion 🤣🤣
Haha true!
What’s it made of? Is it like chickpeas or something?
I believe its made from Gardein chick'n patties some how, but I am not sure if that is still the case.
What about that sauce they put on the lobster roll at Rosie's? Couldn't they use that? Or the whole sandwich is a no?
That would make this SO MUCH BETTER. Wouldn't help the texture issue, but a sauce would help immensely.

I'm so mad they got rid of the veggie sandwich I love that thing!
BRING BACK THE LIGHTHOUSE SANDWICH!!!!
@@VeganDisneyWorld 100% why did they do that? I knew lots of people that would get that ....and they weren't even Vegan HAHAHHAHA!
i think it would be better just not being a burger… serve it with some nice relish and a side of green beens or something and would be a lovely light meal for the florida heat
Yes! I think the fact that it's a sandwich is what is so off putting about it. If it was a fork and knife situation I think it would be much better.
I always substitute a side of green beans for the fries here. In the past… they had steamed broccoli that I loved.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t like this. I did not finish it the only time I got it. Idk how they thought slaw was enough to make it good.
It seems to be pretty generally agreed that we all hate this with a few who like it lol
I agree. That sandwich is gross - flavor and texture.
SO BAD
Magic kingdom food is just so bad...
It's truly the worst park for quick dining. Skipper Canteen forever!
