Maynard even did the ol fashion butter churn dance back then.everytime he's in front he seems like a puppet like his body is being controlled by some higher being.wich probably is true Maynard and tool probably summoned some weird lovecraftian shit
This is awesome, I really enjoyed watching it, it's really interesting to watch Maynard so out there in the beginning but hide himself away towards the end. And the stage visuals, how much better they have become now. Im wondering if you tell me where the footage from 13.24 -13.51 and also 19.04 - 19.30 came from as i'd love to see the full versions of them..... Thank you so much for posting it.
Holy Hell! This is fantastic!!! Amazing job putting this all together for us! I only just got up to Lateralus, but I have to go to work now. I plan to come home in 5 or 6 hours and watch it from the start to absorb it all. You have made something very special here...
Finally was able to watch from start to finish. Again, WOW. To watch all of the progressions happening in this compilation video is mind bending. From Maynard stage presence to the stage itself....even watching the video quality improve over the course of the presentation was fun...I was born in the 80s so I can remember seeing the same progression in my own life...sooo yeahhh...amazing job Ethereal! A well thought and perfectly conceived work of true awesomeness!
Some big transformation happened with the band as a collective between the times of Ænima and Lateralus. Probably something involving DMT or Ayahuasca or something along those lines. Some transformative experience. You can tell by the lyrics, stage setup, and the way they build the songs instrumentally.
i completely agree, as this awesome video production shows, basically everything before lateralus is typical 4/4 with Danny sometimes doing a odd strike or tying something together . So i declare Danny the DMT winner. For me the awesomeness of Tools is based on Danny`s awesome drum compositions
Haha those guys trying to head bang to Part of me at the start. The in depth explanation to why it's not easy for those of you interested is that they either have the bang unevenly to each downbeat, or in an even quarter note that might not match up with the rhythm until a couple of bars later because of the odd time signature lol.
This is brilliant. A friend and I sat down a few years ago in front of a killer stereo system and played every tool album from opiate to 10000 days. We were doing the same thing listening, dissecting and discussing their evolution. Great night tbh
Leandro Vacametabolica Late reply I know but yes, that’s Buzz from The Melvins. Tool toured w/ them a few different times & are friends (still I’m sure). Check this out. Buzz played w/ them for their cover of ‘You Lied’: ua-cam.com/video/FGOlcAwXhcs/v-deo.html
You may never see this, or maybe figured it out, but just in case since nobody else answered it's called No Quarter it's a cover of Led Zeppelin song by Tool they have it on the Salvia album
Maynard spinning around going apeshit.hes a creature not meant to be out in sunlight back then.god i.love them they belong know where in the music genre.there not full metal not grunge not prog alternative is an insult to them.they made there own genre tool.now there this spiritual dark heavy pycadelic metal.w beautiful melodies.he started hating the human race and the bullshit we do as humans to breaking free of it all into beings of light and evolution.they must of had some very intense dmt trips together that effected them as people and took there music to levels I never thought possible.there now in there 50s and listen to punema and 7tempest 2 of the greatest songs in there entire catalogue.only tool can pull that off.they definitely found something not of this world.maybe rossetta stoned was actually Maynard eating crispy cremes as a silver banna split the sky open as he pissed his pants.and took him on a trip and blew it he forgot his pen.

@@darknessbeginsaslightends1319 I don't think he meant it in a way he wanted to be "cool" or like everyone else, I think he meant it more like...they're obviously amazing and loved dearly so he wants to see what we see in them, if that makes sense.
My life is complete having seen a rare video of a young Danny Carey turnt as fuck.
Man if you collaborated with ToolArchive this would be dvd worthy. Seriously.
James toolarchive is actually Adam jones own channel. OP should definitely contact him.
Dvd? Lol.
@@nathanallen9265 I don't get the joke.
@@kokigami5492 wow thanks i didnt know that!
It’s honestly clear how far they would go from the very beginning...can’t beat that early song structure.
Danny works so hard.
People will say/have said, “man I wish I could’ve gone to Tool’s 1st show”.
For me, I wish I could’ve seen the 6:21 show. Amazing energy.
I believe that was the Masquerade, Atlanta '94. It looks insane.
There’s a few of them I’d give my right arm to see!!!!

@@surdert123 brother why is some of it filming a TV ? I'm curious I've not seen that since the 90s
No doubt that band has evolved, but the evolution is part of the process. Can't wait for 2015....Fall tour!!!
maybe you could add some of their interviews as well to see the evolution of their thoughts and as people

That was back stage after a green jello show

Where can I find a footages like the beginning of the video?
