Great stuff Will. I'm overweight and find exercise very boring.
The only way I can face it is to integrate it into a regular activity I must do every day. In my case it's showering in the morning.
So I do teeth and shaving at the sink, then I do squat, followed by reach up to try and touch the low ceiling.
In the shower I place my elbow against the wall of the shower and lift up each leg sideways (one at a time!), 25 times per leg.
The point is it's a mindless habit, so not so daunting to repeat every day.
I wonder if you could think of ways of mindlessly integrating exercise in to common daily habits: as long as you don't look stupid in public, as long as it's MINDLESS.

I have one question about pushup type moves for this age group. What is a good solution for people with painful arthritic wrists?
I have suggested that people use a straight line from the knuckles through the lower arm, but this hasn't suited everyone. What would you recommend? (And actually this issue recurs across many arm exercises?)

EXCELLENT! I'm 73 and question - have 3 torn rotator cuff muscles... how to adapt the press up as I'm worried about injuring the should more - is a wall blank similiar? please advise, thanks! I'll also ask my physiotherapist. but these 3, esp. the calf and glute/quads feel fabulous - tough but good! also, are doing the calf stretch on stairs ok as well, for any time I'm on stairs? can I do these at different intervals - morning and evening for example?

I was told that the knee should not go beyond the toe. But I notice that your knee is going beyond your foot/toe. Is it okay if the knee goes beyond the foot when you're doing the split squat?

Will has addressed this in another video. There’s no reason why you shouldn’t put your knees over your toes. Try climbing up and down the stairs without putting your knees over your toes, you won’t get very far 😂

@Will dear Will, I saw you showed this first exercise being done with the upper body BENT forward in line the with the back leg. So what is right?! Like here - body erect, or upper body slightly bent forward?

Will, I can do exercises 2 and 3, but the first exercise is difficult for me because of my balance. Lunges are also difficult for me. Is there another exercise I can do in place of the split squat?

Those are three great exercises, but shouldn't there be one pull exercise to counter balance the push exercise? That was something my physio was big on, but it may have been because I was seeing him for shoulder issues.

Is it really OK to do this every day? Don't you need a day in between to recover and build strength? This is what I've always been told.

Leg raises are out for me. I have a herniated disc in lower lumber. I hang from a bar and raise legs. That way my back doesnt pain

The split squats will work all of the muscles I'm really struggling with right now, I think (both pain & weakness) but the knee pain is really making it hard. Is there a way to modify? In PT I had a bar to hold to remove some of the weight but I've never figured a way to do this at home.
