65 yo, able to do all with ease. So very happy! I do about 50-100 squats a day, 5-10 mins of Asian squats, heel lift for my ankles and just stretches as much as I can for hip mobility. Fighting my way through aging. I don’t want to be like the ppl that I saw on a cruise. Not that old but walking around with canes and scooters. So I am going to do all these exercises until I can’t. They motivate me to keep up with my exercises.
Until I ran one morning when I was 62 and tore a ligament from spine to sartorius muscle I was very active. I used to walk 2 or 3 hours up local hills no problem. The torn ligament stopped that. Thank you so much, Will. I’m 73. My upper left leg had been causing me a lot of pain over the last four months. Some days I could hardly walk on it. 70 years old here. Began working out seriously 4 years ago and now workout 6 times a week and love it. 2 days group training, 2 days boot camp and 2 days one-on-one with a trainer. I still have aches and pains, but refuse to become inactive. I went from not being able to squat past 90deg knee flexion, to doing a full asian squat (though I can't stay down there - yet). My one-on-one sessions work on strength but mostly on stability and balance. One of the unexpected benefits is the mental discipline - getting comfortable with being uncomfortable and not giving in to the voice that says "I hate this" - and just experiencing the burn. It spills over into the rest of my life. Having a trainer - whether in group or solo - was a game changer for me. I am saddened when I see "old people" at the supermarket and realize they are my age.

So much appreciate these squats. I recently had knee replacement at age 81 and that leg is terrific; but the mobility of the unoperated leg does not allow me to squat as deep as I need and want. I'll work toward improvement best I can.Your videos are terrific - clear, good visual and so worthy. I'm somewhat new to you; but will do the exercises daily.
Just ordered the book after a few months watching videos. You have helped my knee cap issues from an old skiing rotational sports injury. I wish I listened earlier. He may be young but please listen to him. I’m mostly a high impact fitness fanatic and this man has levelled my fitness. 😊 I can’t wait to read.
I have just ordered your book... I was fit and healthy and danced every day and was an avid bushwalker and I even used to run up flights of stairs until an accident with resulting surgery meant I had very little movement for 4 months . I was fine for the 5th month until my doctor sent me to physio and the exercises they prescribed to improve my core and restore my strength caused a casacade of muscle injuries including sciatica. I was sent to a different physio who made things worse and for the past 7 months my life has been a nightmare of pain and limited movement and loss of all the activities that brought me joy and health. I have searched hundreds of youtube channels in desperation but to no avail and I can't believe my life has disintergrated the way it has so you are my last hope ! I am keen to thrive !
Thank you, Will. Please don't stop making these videos. I'm at 62 year old woman and I'm trying to minimize sarcopenia, and osteopenia and/or osteoporosis. If I lived in England I would set up an appointment to visit you. I ordered a copy of your book. I need all the help I can get.
I have no plans on stopping any time soon! Thank you for ordering my book, I hope you find it packed with useful information. I'm wishing you all the best and I hope my channel continues to offer support for you ☺️

I'm pleased my video came up for you. Thank you for sharing it with your mum and thank you for subscribing! I hope the exercises prove helpful for you both - sending best wishes to you in Munich :)
I would like to congratulate you on what are fantastic concise videos, simple not overbearing , and achievable. I like that you keep it to three exercises, and break them down , also allowing for people who are more debilitated than others ......How refreshing completely different for all the other exercise videos wonderful. thank you
Thank you so much, that means a lot to me! I aim to offer practical and manageable suggestions which can offer some real benefit for people - so it's great to know that I'm achieving that goal!

I need to loose 25lbs and I don’t believe in coincidence-I found your videos because it what I need!! Thanks for your help! ❤ love your accent ☺️
Thank you. I’m 61, can do most of it but fond some issues. Definitely good stuff to work on. As a side note this year I’m working through some injuries that I did to myself by doing not age appropriate exercise. It’s finally occurred to me I’m not 30 anymore and I have to retool my fitness routine.
Thank you so much! My low back was hurting everyday after knee surgery and just from walking. I had no idea it was an age thing. I’m 61 and these stretches help so much!
So many muscles we as humans rarely utilize, especially after our routines , daily movements or lack of daily movements have set in over the years. Past 5 or 6 years been delving deeply into stretching mobility, yoga resistance band training, I am 55 and in the best shape of my life since high school football. Physical therapist, kinesiology, muscle biometrics transform people the right way by guiding individuals into the profound world of the bodys ability to heal through guided movements. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us . If people just realized how good you could feel by investing 15 to 20 minutes a day through simple stretching, resistance bands or isometrics but just using the body. All this can be done at home no need for a gym and as always the number one gauge of a well-led life is health. Thx again fantastic content, practical, your channel sends great energy into the world that helps humanity. Simply adding true value. Content that will stand through time. Dig it.
Will I'm gaining stability and strength incorporating some of your exercises - particularly standing to sitting while keeping knees sytaight. I have a long way to go as I'm very weak but this is the best progress I've had in several years. Thank you.
I'm new to your videos and I have to say that I'm going to give them all a whirl due to stiffness and pain from sitting too much with my job. And I've learned that sitting begets more sitting (makes a person incapable of standing for very long or walking for very long). Thank you for showing how to correct all that's going wrong.
Just found your channel. Fantastic! I have arthritis, curvature of the spine, and a couple of old injuries from learning a traditional martial arts during my 30s. (Got my black belt at 40 after a 4 hour test with 2 young men whose combined ages didn't add up to 40.) I'm now retired (68 years old), but have a one-person meat goat ranch here in the USA, I haven't been exercising much lately, although I do some simple stretches each morning. I hope to start adding some of yours to my routine. Thank you!
Great advice! I found the exercises beneficial and very helpful! Thank you so much for supporting us in improving our health Will. Keep up the good work! Warm greetings from Melbourne of Australia!👋❤👍
Just turned 50 this year and looking to improve fitness. Used to be really fit but it fell by the way side over the last 15 years or so. Got an old back injury too so will be using your videos to help me improve. Thank you for posting!

Hola Will, I enjoy your videos here in Spain. I am a 75 Yr old male and do many of your exercises. Having had a hip replacement here in Spain 2 yrs ago I swim 30 lengths most days plus cycling either stationery bike or my tricycle. The problem is when walking the dog I find it difficult to pick up the poo, same around the house I find picking up from the floor hard with stiffness in the back. Any exercise to help would be appreciated Graham.
Great presentation! I am trying to do about 2 hours of exercises most days and these videos provide welcome additions to my program. One warning about the move of having the buttocks below the knees when doing a squat. I did this move when I was about 70 yr old and eventually developed a knee pain that took about a 6-month abstinence from the exercise to reverse.
Thank you so much for doing these videos, I’m going to order your book. I’ve had a very painful right lower back/hip for 6 months. I’ve been trying everything including physio therapy, when I do the internal hip rotation on the left it just wants to cramp, not much rom at all! Funnily enough the right is slightly better and that’s the more painful side, I will persevere and practise, the squat feels like it has helped already. 😊
I love these exercises. I have a mix of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. I have had one knee replaced and will need the other. I do as much as I can. I am very active.
Hi will, I am over fifty and I enjoy hiking and I never knew building your glut muscles and your calf’s would make a big difference. I well have change my routine at the gym. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much! These exercises are invaluable in improving my range of motion. Your channel is the best exercise advice and safety recommendations for over 50 adults.

64 yr old physician 6ft 1in 188lbs who has been active and athletic all my life. I recently (6-8 weeks) started experiencing hip pain at night lying in bed. No pain or limitations during the day while moving and trying to figure if it is the usual suspects: Bursitis, Piriformis Syndrome, osteoarthritis (hopefully not a torn labrum). The third exercise in the above video will become part of my repertoire as I make the all too common mistake of treating myself. Do you have any supplemental exercises to address what I have just described? GREAT channel, keep up the great work!
When I was 34 I had three vertebrae in my neck fused after an injury. I went from active to sedentary, using that as a handy excuse to lay around like a walrus basking in the sun. Now I'm 55 and paying the price, but now I'm trying to reverse some of it. It's an uphill battle, but simple movements like this give me hope that I can get back to some level of activity and fitness. Thank you.
I recently had my third back surgery, but feel like I am going backwards. I can walk with my dog and have over 6700 steps -- a lot for a 77-year-old lady on a cane walking a puppy. My surgeon told me I would most likely have bursitis at some time after the surgery and may need to see my pain management doctor. Well bursitis has reared its ugly head a year and a half after surgery. I had many weeks of physical therapy and I see from your video for me I should have been doing the clam and the long lever especially with a pillow, This is much easier with the pillow. Enjoyed your video very much.
Great job on demonstrating three easy exercises for those of us over age 50. You're targeting a growing market. One study indicates that by the year 2030, 40% of the American workforce will be 65 or older and will need to adopt healthy lifestyles, exercise programs, and mental health services. Good luck with your book and UA-cam channel!
I'm only 50 but long time nurse. I came to your videos for the resistance band workouts but then saw this. I have no issues with the first 2 movements but the extra-version of the hips is almost impossible for me. I have had previous issues with sciatica so I'm wondering if I should persist trying to do that movement? Am I likely to improve or likely to exacerbate any back issues? (I've also had a previous back injury but with a lot of work + keto, managed to resolve that. Zero pain with the first movement and all the way down)
Hi Will, great video as always. I was wondering if you have a video, or make one, for over 50 people with hypermobility spectrum disorder. Thank you so much 🇵🇦🇨🇦💜🙏🏽
Good to know. Turned 50 some months back & have had partial feet numbness, tension in the neck & a bit of other nerve damage from injuries. Tried chiro. Managed to do all three carefully. Though the 3rd one's tough to turn the leg outwards. Popular vid.
Wonderful. There is a lot of noise on UA-cam. Love your channel. You get to the point and provide value. I use these exercises now as part of my warm-up. Top!
So glad I just stumbled upon your channel, Will! I’m 53, just had a right knee replacement 2 years ago and now I need right shoulder surgery. Since my right shoulder is currently damaged, I’m limited as to what exercises I can do, but once I get my shoulder repaired, I’m looking forward to putting your exercises to work to hopefully regain full mobility again! Thanks!
I just had this video pop up also. I will do the exercises as they seem simple and effective. I injured my right shoulder rotator cuff to the point I could barely tuck in my shirt at my back on that side, or lift my arm much above waist height. I was fortunate to be given the name of an ex NHS physiotherapist who had her own treatment room at home. She warmed my shoulder with a heavy warmed folded canvas sheet, massaged my entire upper back, then slowly and gently put my shoulder through its complete range of motion. Something I had been unable to do since I injured the rotator cuff in a fall some weeks before. I visited her three times in total, doing the exercises she gave me between visits, and was left with a shoulder that was pretty much as good as before the fall. I was 59 at the time, 65 now and do some stretches, when I remember 🙄, but will try to do more, and include the ones in this video. I have the exercise sheet she gave me put away somewhere, but remember some which were very simple ones raising a small bottle of water to the side, standing, and upwards when lying on my front. My shoulder has a tiny click I feel when fully raising my arm, but no pain. The money I spent visiting the physiotherapist was much less than you might spend on old banger car repairs, so well worth it to avoid a long wait to get to see an actual NHS physiotherapist 😕😊. Anyone looking online will see how incredibly complex a shoulder joint is, so the real surprise for me is they work at all. Arthritis or wear and tear are of course different from injuries, but hopefully surgery can be avoided if at all possible. 👍🏻
@@markj3517 … I’m very glad to hear that you’re getting great results from your physical therapy. I wish that’s all I needed but unfortunately I have a spur on my shoulder bone which grew so large that it severed all my tendons and they’re retracted now. I’m scheduled for surgery a month from now to have everything repaired, then I will have six months of physical therapy ahead of me. Doctor said it will be about a year before I’m fully recovered. This all stemmed from dislocating my shoulder when I was 12 and going 42 years with a torn rotator cuff and labrum. Everything was weakened over the years and finally snapped. I’m looking forward to getting the usage of my arm back that I’ve been missing for so long.
@HT-Physio the exercises were simple and worthwhile doing. My current abilities are good, and not withstanding, found exercises could challenge them further 🙏
Just purchased your book on Amazon. I love the way you explain the movement in these videos ❤. I would like to see moire for those with osteoporosis osteoporosis
wow! I was surprised at how good that felt! I'm very flexible despite being 54, but genetically I have a lot of abilities. MY thoracic is the one that needs the most help. Love this!! I will do it daily! ( I do lifts weight and do HIIT 5 times a week) This will help me so much!
Even as a child I never could do squats. Always fell over, usually backwards. Worse when I reached puberty and grew breasts. So doing the partial squat is as far as my body is willing to do! However the other two exercises were a breeze. I’m closing in on 70 years under my belt.
Thanks again Will. You have an amazing ability to explain these simple exercises clearly. Your inserted diagrams make it all so clear, without being too wordy, so much better than many well-meaning contributors and so practical for us oldies. Thank you! 🙂
Thank you so much for your kind feedback - I am often trying out new ways to present my work and it's great to hear what people find useful so that I can continue to implement it! Have a great day :)
These were excellent! My hips have always been tight. Time to pay attention to their needs. 67.5 here, I can do the squat and the shoulder without much complaint. 🇨🇦
How I wish I had seen a physio like yourself years ago, it's only until you do the exercises you realise what movement you have been missing all your life. I have followed a few of your exercises and now my legs are stronger, which make want to walk more, I've realised I didn't do exercise because it was hard work, it's less hard work when certain exercises are done first to create strength and flexibility, thank you.
I recently turned 60 and I’m trying to keep fit. I gave up martial arts years ago but still do Fitboxing a couple of times a week for cardio, so I do a lot of squats and other stretches. I started Pilates (with the bed/machine) a couple of years ago and it has really helped in many ways. It is based around core work and resistance training. It is challenging but fun and a great way to stay in shape for most other activities.
Brava, Elinor. I'm trying to recover my fitness for a month in Italy, so many hills, cobbles and steps. Last time I was in Scilla there was a 100 year old lady walking around albeit with a stick. I'm inspired by Italians!
dear, our bodies are so amazing! just keep trying, without hurting yourself, 5milimiters at a time, you will see how persistance will transform your life!!
I'm 52, I've done Karate most of my life and can do these exercises and more easily. I train with people 20 years older than me and they can also do this type of movement easily, and kick my butt while they are at it. Do a martial art (or yoga!) it doesn't have to be serious, but it's fun and will keep you young!
Hi Will, your videos are amazing..thank you so much..any chance that when demonstrating the exercises, you could include some advice as to whether the exercises are suitable for someone with osteoporosis and how the exercises could be perhaps modified for an osteoporosis suffer...you are so informative. 😊 Mir
I like the last tip which is on the neck rotation - been doing these in the hope of relieving neck pain and stiffness but experienced giddiness and those clicking and cracking sounds you described while doing so....will gladly stop these in my routine and stick to those other neck movements you approved of
Good stuff. Been foing squats eith kettlebell for about a year now when I go to the gym. Incredibly helpful. Will try this one when at home and no KB. Need those other ones as well. I'm 78

I'm wishing you all the best and I hope my channel continues to offer support for you ☺️
Well done I will start tomorrow😅
This is great! Thanks for always including beginner - medium - advanced methods.
You're very welcome
49 year old here. Video just randomly popped up so I watched it, sent it to my 82 year old mum (she‘s in great shape thank God! 🙏) and subscribed immediately!
I will start with these exercises to stay as mobile as my mum when I get older! 💪
Thanks from Munich! 🍻
Bringing the foot in isn’t to bad but I can barely go outward! I’m only 50, looks like I have some work to do! Thanks for the great advice!!
Practice makes perfect!
Going outward or hip internal rotation has limited range anyway so I won't worry too much about it. Plus it's not really very necessary functionally.
Hi Will Marion from Australia. Love your exercises. Thankyou for caring for people over 50 I am 75 and I can do all your exercises
I do all these exercises full squats 12 times from chair or bed 20 squats in 20 seconds lots of your exercises for arthritis and fall prevention i am 80 yearls od
Keep up the great work!

@@HT-Physio amazing 👌👌👌👏👏👏
@@HT-Physio I am going to share your videos to my parents 😌

I just found your videos tonight…so THANKFUL I did!
I just turned 60 two weeks ago 😵💫 it hit me hard….never ever had issue with age but this..🙃
Anyways I had thyroid cancer 10 years ago, complete hip replacement 3 years ago.
No other health issues.
I need to loose 25lbs and I don’t believe in coincidence-I found your videos because it what I need!!
Thanks for your help! ❤ love your accent ☺️
Love your videos. Very well presented. Very useful for older people. May God bless you always for helping older people. Kind Regards ,🙏🙏🙏
Thank you. I’m 61, can do most of it but fond some issues. Definitely good stuff to work on. As a side note this year I’m working through some injuries that I did to myself by doing not age appropriate exercise. It’s finally occurred to me I’m not 30 anymore and I have to retool my fitness routine.
Wishing you a smooth recovery from your injuries and all the best in the new year!
Thank you.
That's fantastic to hear! Keep up the great work :)
2:30 can do it easy, but getting back up is terrible on my knees 😂
Thank you for these videos. I teach over 50 yoga and use a lot of your techniques.
Me too I am a yoga teacher and I am turning 60 this year. My seniors are my favourite students and people with chronic pain (like me too) 🇵🇦🇨🇦💜🙏🏽
That's great to hear I'm happy I can be of help!
Thank you for showing the importance of those 3 daily movements.
You're welcome
Just found your channel. Fantastic! I have arthritis, curvature of the spine, and a couple of old injuries from learning a traditional martial arts during my 30s. (Got my black belt at 40 after a 4 hour test with 2 young men whose combined ages didn't add up to 40.) I'm now retired (68 years old), but have a one-person meat goat ranch here in the USA, I haven't been exercising much lately, although I do some simple stretches each morning. I hope to start adding some of yours to my routine. Thank you!
Such good advice! I am going to start doing them daily right away! Thanks!
Happy to help!

I hope my videos prove helpful - I have plenty of videos on my channel that discuss exercising with back injuries which may be of interest!
Thank you Sir, I like yr lessons and practise them. I am a Singaporean Chinese coming to 80 yrs, still golfing and go deep sea fishing. I also practise Tai Chi/Qiqong daily helps to stabilise myself with good balance and normalise my BP. Complementary to yr lessons.
Once again, thank you
Great to hear my videos have been helpful - keep up the great work, it sounds like you're taking great steps to stay active and healthy!
Great presentation - clear and simple so thank you very much, Will! Really enjoyed the 3 stretches and will try them out...
Thank you - I'm a 69 year old woman who works pretty hard to stay strong and in shape, but was shocked how hard the last exercise was for me! Going to definitely need to work on that area!
Keep up the great work, consistency is the most important thing!
I find the last movement that you gave to be most beneficial. Major props
Just LOVE these videos. So clear and just generous.
That's great to hear thank you!
I love your exercises and so does my senior exercise class. Being an RN I appreciate your explanations. I use these to help my class understand why they Must keep moving to live an enjoyable and healthy life. Enjoy your book too. Keep up the good work! Thanks.
Hola Will,
I enjoy your videos here in Spain.
I am a 75 Yr old male and do many of your exercises.
Having had a hip replacement here in Spain 2 yrs ago
I swim 30 lengths most days plus cycling either stationery bike or
my tricycle.
The problem is when walking the dog I find it difficult to pick up the poo, same around the house I find picking up from the floor hard with stiffness in the back.
Any exercise to help would be appreciated
Graham.
I just finished you book. Thank you for such a comprehensive guide. I just turned 51.
Engaged muscles not usually worked. Felt great.
Thanks for the stream
Hi will, I am over fifty and I enjoy hiking and I never knew building your glut muscles and your calf’s would make a big difference. I well have change my routine at the gym. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much! These exercises are invaluable in improving my range of motion. Your channel is the best exercise advice and safety recommendations for over 50 adults.
THANK YOU- very helpful- will buy our book! Very appreciative for your help in this video
I am 90 and have a difficult time with all these movements, even the easy version. Any other videos you can recommend for me:? Thank you. All your videos are terrific.

Thank you.
Well done on the efforts you're making to rebuild your activity levels - it isn't an easy journey, but it's most definitely a worthwhile one!
Enjoyed your video very much.
great presentation
Thank you!
Thank you Will for very useful tips and exercises. I am 56 and glad that I am keeping up with these exercise.
Thank you Will, I, 67 can follow your advice, practice & enjoy it 😊❤
That's fantastic to hear, I'm so pleased you've enjoyed my content!
Thank you so much 🇵🇦🇨🇦💜🙏🏽
Thank you for your comment - I will add it to my list of future videos!
In less than 10 days regained use of R leg. My weight has a healthy BMI but at 78 my right leg was weak. TY. Great info.
Lovely presentation, thanks a lot - will do those in the kitchen during the day. Very helpful
Good to know. Turned 50 some months back & have had partial feet numbness, tension in the neck & a bit of other nerve damage from injuries. Tried chiro.
Managed to do all three carefully. Though the 3rd one's tough to turn the leg outwards. Popular vid.
I have numb toes too. I now dig them down and wriggle my toes as I walk but not got feeling back yet.
@@annegallagher8284 Sorry to hear. Yeah, not having insurance or a doctor's been tricky for me.

Yes, indeed! These 3 exercises are most helpful for me! Carry on! ❤
We are glad these are super easy to follow
I appreciate these can be done with my mom as well❤
Thanks - excellent content - brilliantly communicated and shown.
Appreciate the lack of music, which can be distracting.
Thank you so much for your kind feedback!
Thank you for your support!
I'm almost 60. I crawl on fours. My husband thought it was an odd way of exercising, but I like it because it is good for my legs, abs, and arms.
So should exercising be avoided if pain is felt?
The exercises for bursitis have helped a lot. And thank you for the tip of not crossing the legs!
wow! I was surprised at how good that felt! I'm very flexible despite being 54, but genetically I have a lot of abilities. MY thoracic is the one that needs the most help. Love this!! I will do it daily! ( I do lifts weight and do HIIT 5 times a week) This will help me so much!
Great to hear you found my video helpful - keep up the great work that you're doing!
Even as a child I never could do squats. Always fell over, usually backwards. Worse when I reached puberty and grew breasts. So doing the partial squat is as far as my body is willing to do! However the other two exercises were a breeze. I’m closing in on 70 years under my belt.
It's always good to find alternatives that work for you - keep up the great work!
Again, Mr Harlow, dooable exercises with tremendous benefits to maintaining fitness mobility in seniors.
Thanks, I am 60 and I think I could do these every day.

That's great to hear - keep up the great work!
Thank you will, you do a great job instructing us oldies but goldies. ❤😊
These were excellent! My hips have always been tight. Time to pay attention to their needs. 67.5 here, I can do the squat and the shoulder without much complaint. 🇨🇦
Keep up the great work :)
I just ordered your new book. I look forward to working on my mobility and strength with your support.
Thank you for ordering my book, I hope you find it packed with useful information to help you achieve your mobility and strength-related goals!
I'm so pleased to hear you've been able to put my exercises to good use and that you've noticed such a fantastic improvement! Keep up the great work😃
Enjoyed this video great exercises thank you Will!

Keep up the great work!

Hi Will, your videos are amazing..thank you so much..any chance that when demonstrating the exercises, you could include some advice as to whether the exercises are suitable for someone with osteoporosis and how the exercises could be perhaps modified for an osteoporosis suffer...you are so informative. 😊 Mir
I like the last tip which is on the neck rotation - been doing these in the hope of relieving neck pain and stiffness but experienced giddiness and those clicking and cracking sounds you described while doing so....will gladly stop these in my routine and stick to those other neck movements you approved of
I'm glad my video was able to offer you safer alternatives!
