You were confused about the Maibaum ride. Between the rides, the seats come down to the ground so you can get on the seats. As soon as all seats reached a specific height, you are able to control your height in a specificied range. In my oppinion it is one of the most eye-catching attractions.

The shield with the faces at 1:40 has old women on top, and young women on the bottom divided by a banner that reads "Werde jung u(nd) schön, doch bleibe weise." which translates to "Become young and beautiful, but stay wise." the "und" is abbreviated as just a "u." which is very common in german to do.

The amusement park is the second oldest in Germany and was initially just a so-called old wives' mill where, according to legend, old women magically become young again, like in a fountain of youth.
Contrary to the legend, fun and exercise were installed instead of magic.
Its appearance became its theme - Swabia before 1900. Actually its "only" 95 years old

I have to beg to differ. My parents live in a newly (1998) built half timbered house. Today, it's called "Ständerbauweise", and you'll find many examples of modern half-timbered constructions.

In 1994 in my hometown, one of the half-timbered houses destroyed in WW2 was rebuilt according to original plans and only with the funds that were originally used. That means completely without nails and screws.
The companies that took part say they learned a lot that they didn't know they could use before.
Look at "Alte Waage Braunschweig" on Wikipedia

That building construction you mentioned is called Fachwerk, it was a very common method of construction in Germany from the 14th to the 19th century, where this type of construction was eventually replaced with more modern techniques as other materials became more widely available. Traditionally, you would build the wooden frame, then fill the gaps in with sticks, which you could then use as a kind of lattice to stuff the walls with clay in what is called wattle and daub construction (the german word Wand, aswell as the english word wall, come from this construction technique, as the old germanic word for to wind was wendh, which referred to how you would wind the sticks to form this lattice). While that particular construction method has since been surpassed, the aesthetic is actually still popular.

Thank you for reminding me of my childhood. I've been there in the 70s. It was much much smaller and I can't remember the rollercoasters at all. I just remember going down a wooden slide in a house, and some googling told me it was in the "Altweibermühle", the old women's mill, which was the first attraction of Tripsdrill. The "scary" stuff is connected to German fairytales which were mostly scary and which also scared me as a child. I'm glad that people realized during the last decades that it's not a good idea to scare your children.

The houses are referred to as "Fachwerkhaus" in German and "half-timbered house" in English. They are medieval constructions which are made from wood (that's the pattern) and usually a mix of clay and hay and some other things for the space between. Those were common all over Europe for most of the middle ages and can still be seen in quite some places. The ones in the video are, of course, modern reproductions made to look like that.

1:55 I know Tripsdrill from when I was young 50 years ago. The man attraction was the old womens mill (Altweibermühle), an old mill where you could slide down on a wooden slide. They claimed that this mill would make young women from old ones, and that is what you see in that picture. In the upper part are the ugly old women, and in the lower part the young girls after the ride. The inscription says: Become young and beautifull, but stay wise.

Fachwerk is actually framework, not so different from how you american guys build your houses. The difference is, that the wooden planks are thicker and aren't covered up, when filling out the gaps with straw, clay, whatever. The decorative look was just a side effect, which looked cool and therefore switched the causality, and they came up with a lot of different patterns.
I never heared of that themepark, maybe it's a smaller or newer one. I was only to Europa Park and Phantasialand, which are bigger ones. Also I'm not an expert in american parks, but could it be, that they just don't have this amount of green nature?

An amusement park having decorative outhouses and pooping animatronics is a good example of the 'analness' of German culture. Other ones are the prominent use of "Scheiße" and the poop shelves in German toilets. Thanks for reacting on my video about one of the quirkiest and most traditional themepark here in Germany. :)
Tripsdrill combines old and new in a perfect way and is a brilliant family park.

Tripps Drill is more ment for children and younger teens. There is a partner-park called Lochmühle, near Frankfurt, what is ment for even smaller children.
Older teens and young adults from my region are going more to Europapark, Phantasialand, Holidaypark and so on.
( My daughter (16) refuses to go to Tripps Drill ;-) 'cause she thinks she's to old )

    Tripsdrill is awesome..
I haven't been a roller coaster rider for many years because panic always intervened. That was the first time I ever went to one with a loop. And it was also the first time that one of my children rode a roller coaster with me. It was the wooden roller coaster that we ended up riding I think 8 or 9 times throughout the day. The whole amusement park is just great! And if you want to take a break from the amusement park, you can go to the nearby animal park!

These are so-called "Fachwerkhäuser" (half-timbered houses).
There was a frame work made of wooden beams, between the outer walls of very old houses there are bricks, while the inner walls are made of a mixture of clay and straw.
Usually, the beams were numbered at that time, so that these houses could be dismantled and rebuilt in the same way at another location.
Sounds crazy, but I live in a house that was somewhere else 150 years ago. 🤷🏼‍♀️

The smaller rides are the best. Lots to do and ride for younger children.

Tripsdrill itself is rather modest with more Rides and things that aren't Rollercoasters 🤣 I despise them: To fast, to high. I like fast things, mostly fast cars, but the combination with my fear of heights... all it takes is to look up to know: not as long as i breath. 🤣 The exact opposite seems to be like the world most known park, "Europa Park" with more than 13 Rollercoasters, i think. Some of which are in the dark, spinning while you are driving it, driving backwards in the middle of it and what not. I love the Europa Park but there is sadly not enough for a Person around my age to drive with because those Rollercoasters occupying a large area of the park, each of them. Funny enough: I know Tripsdrill only from Photos despite it being in my state 🤣

I was last week in Florida, Orlando. Of course, I was in Universal and SeaWorld and holy fuck, these parks are incedible. The Velocicoaster at Universal was insane and the most intense and the best ride of a roallercoaster in my life. So I think, the Theme-parks in America are better. In Germany the parks are more family-friendly🤔
