I personally love this style of drumming because it is what made all of the styles of metal drumming today come to fruition. Almost every metal drummer nowadays was inspired by Dave Lomardo, Lars Ulrich, Gar Samuelson, Charlie Benante and Louie Clemente. Just to name a few. 🤘😌 Mad Anger rhythms.
In his prime he surpassed the majority & spawned many clones. Nothing touched Reign in Blood when it 1st came out. Lombardo has so much technique he’s played in like 10 other bands over the years with varying degrees of styles. He plays with a unique, powerful, precise natural groove.
