Greetings from the USA! Your videos inspired me to get a 996 C4S about 2 years ago. I thoroughly enjoy the FGP Prep Books. Keep up the great work! Cheers!
I fitted the Öhlins to my 1999 C4 myself in my garage and I’ll never do that again, it was NO fun at all! Fiddly assembly, the instructions were maddening, etc. My car has the factory body stiffening kit and, with the Öhlins, man, it tracks sweepers well beyond reasonable speeds. That said, the roads are garbage here and this setup lets me know exactly how terrible they are, so I’ve actually considered a softer set of springs (But the handling has kept me off that idea). Installed the PCCM+ as well, also not a ton of fun, but it came together perfectly and the result has brought the modernity of my daily driver right on target. Love your content and love my 996 C4. Cheers from Nashville, TN!
Good for you, attempting (& succeeding at) to install suspension upgrades and electronic interior upgrades. I don’t own a Porsche, but I foresee it in my imminent future.
I'm getting the Ohlin's coilovers for my 986 Boxster. I think if paired with a decent sway bar it will reduce body roll while not giving up ride comfort. Though I'd be curious what the hardest settings on the Ohlin's would feel like.
Fantastic content as always... when's the TV show starting? 😉Love the comparison and great to see the 996's invested in as one of the all time great drivers cars. Keep it up guys...
Compliance == better tire contact == greater ability to hold speed. Having used them in the past I'm a big fan of KW, however next go around will have to try Ohlins. Swedish instructions do tend to be ridiculous, if in doubt buy furniture at IKEA LOL. I did PCCM plus in my C4S, its a must have, and not that hard to install.
Hey Guys! Lovely Channel. Love the passion and also in depth take on the cars characteristics. You guys mentioned you installed many PCCM+. I have had mine fitted too but notice with the USB connected I get tons of white noise. Is that normal?
I probably wouldn’t buy a 996 because they’re older than I want but watching many issues of Prep Book has moved me from a definite no to a maybe. Like some others, I was over fixated on the looks of the headlights and general disquiet about common problems. These are all fixable and indeed fixed on all your cars, leaving me with the essence of these wonderful cars. They’re beautiful and analogue in a way that’s lost on the newest generation cars. They’re sharp, but they don’t move me when I flick through endless images of cars for sale at £75-100K. There’s a message in there for me, I think.
they didnt move me either, then i bought one and wow the 996 is an ideal blend of speed, style, cool factor, sound, feel, and reliability. it has issues, just like every car. but the day to day classic vibe is spot on, i would never drive an air model for daily. but my 996 gets 10k kms per year

Lovely feedback from customers.
How would you rank simply for street use: Ohlins, KWs, and Bilstein, as you have installed all of them over time?
The long awaited second instalment. Worth the wait. Interesting video, as always
8.15, man that car sounds nice as you lightly run up a couple of gears after moving off.
Enjoyed this set of videos and the informative details 👍🏻
So enjoyabe to watch and so informative too. Truly inspires me to own 996 C4S sometime soon
Good job Luke and team, always informative.
The crossbars look very cool, IMO.
