This is my yellow C4S and I asked Luke to get it back to 'factory fresh' as this isn't just my weekend toy but a car I intend to own forever. Luke and Ollie did an amazing job and I couldn't have been happier with the result, it was certainly worth every penny and was ultimately great value for the car I got back. I live around 5-6 hours away from FGP and there are a lot of decent Porsche specialist's a lot closer to me but it just goes to show the trust I have in the guys. Also, the communication over the 4 or so months the car was with Luke was second to none and I was kept updated at every step which is refreshing to say the least. Top guys and highly recommended!!!!
This very car was reviewed by JayEmm On Cars. Very positively, with one exception, the MO30 suspension, JayEmm found too stiff for use anywhere other than very smooth roads.
Impressive stuff. Having been to various different dealers and specialists since taking mine on in 2007 it would be fascinated to see how she got on with FGP. :-)

Are Öhlins worth it for strictly road use? The M030 fitted is too stiff and the car needs a setup with greater compliance to deal with dodgy road surfaces.
just watching this video just loving what you Boys have done. I am in Sydney and have a 98 3.4 Carrera Manual ... I was considering what to do with the suspension and you have sold the M030 very well ... no need for Coilovers, it would appear. I have the GT3 steering wheel, and the GT3 series 1 split rims ... so I think M030 it is. I note you used genuine Brakes (or Zimmerman) and the pads are Textar, so they work a treat as well. I have the Gundo hack, which I feel is similar to the yellow car. I all, you've given me a lot of inspiration for my car, in a very comprehensive and entertaining way. Thank you !!! Now, where do I get a FGP t-Shirt, to wear in Sydney, Australia??

Cheers to the owner for doing an antiretroviral refresh on the 996. I did something very similar to my 996.2 AeroKit. While the price to do this can get a bit staggering, in the end it’s all worth it!
Nice job on a beautiful C4S. Love how you also painted the front spoiler and side rockers. Often thought about this for my Polar Silver C4S. Would have liked to heard your thoughts on that decision.

Guys I have been following you for nearly a year. I just landed in Spain from Australia 3 days ago . I’m looking for a 996 or 997 and I’m going to bring it straight to you (when the covid restrictions allows ) for a complete service like you did on this fellas. I would be mad not to . Now that was a good video Luke! It's like you and Ollie are best mates. Paul is so lucky he did not go with the Olins. I just saw Esysman do a video about them. He has them on a 911 and was advised to park it and not drive it even to the shop. They supposedly do separate at the top mount and of course crash the car. Hope to see another video like this soon. Great vid boys. Spec now near identical to mine. You probably know the relay that controls the PSE puts it on quiet mode between 25 and 45 kph. Meets some Euro noise laws it seems. There is a hack for the relay that truly leaves it open when “open” selected. It’s a 5 min job. So you may offer that to customers ….
Thanks David. If you want to disable the quiet mode between 25-45 (which is MPH) it is easiest to simply disconnect the vacuum lines from the vacuum units.
That means you can’t have quiet mode at all. This way you get true quiet and true rowdy. Mine sounds very similar to lovely yellow C4S. Anyway. Enjoyed video

I got stainless manifolds for my 997 from jdm Honda parts in the Us….came in at £140 for the pair delivered!!!….I honestly thought to good to be true but four years on they still going strong and quality and fitment were spot on.Didn’t even have to pay import tax.
Interesting with all of the money spent on this lovely machine the customer is happy to have different tyres on the front end which I wouldn’t be happy with on a 2WD let alone a 4WD (happy to be corrected if I’m wrong but they have different tread patterns)

I've fitted this on both 996's I've owned. Best option out there. You want the factory 997.2 GT2 & 3RS fitment part: 997.424.010.91, mine has AS00 written after it.. pretty sure that's just batch information
Great but its always question of money. The guy who own the car got lot of bucks, see the private plate which cost fortune, so he need result I have 911 but can not afford to replace half of the vehicle. Good job gents!
Hi Mike. They were Top Gear manifolds. To be honest, the different brands of stainless manifold don’t vary in sound too much. They all give some added “rasp” over factory units, though.

Does it help if the engine is warmed up before trying to remove the bolts or is just luck of the draw either way?
I’ve heard only a few but my own 996.2 with a new Porsche switchable exhaust system sounds brilliant. When driving along rural roads in East Kent, just like the ones around FGP, i have as much fun in every department of go, braking, sounds, feel, emotion and a little pride in ownership, as I do on my classic motorcycles. The problem I’ve now got is, when I see that it’s going to be a beautiful day, what to use? I’ve two Suzuki GT motorcycles with deep personal history and it’s joyous to thrash them around the lanes and along sweeping rural A roads. Good thing they’re not very powerful (70bhp max) because it’s true what they say. Much more fun pushing a slow vehicle fairly hard than driving a fast vehicle with unavoidable caution. The 996 “GTS” as JayEmm calls the 40th anniversary edition isn’t slow, but compared with the performance of an equivalent 992, it’s so much more useable. Which is why I bought it, and it was half the price of a late letter 992 GTS.
Luke, those old discs weren’t that bad? But I guess if you are refurbing wheels & callipers (they looked the nuts BTW) it makes sense!! Good work anyway
Hi Craig. The old discs weren't too "clever"! There's something oh so attractive about a set of new discs peering through freshly refurbished alloys. The refurbished callipers were the cherries on top!
Oh yes I forgot to ask you why you removed the spacers? I’ve had a full suspension overhaul and thought the spacers would give an even better stance. The guys who did it and the geo advised not to put spacers on. Be interested in your views 🤔
Hello Luke. The pandemic has had far reaching effects. I recently had my rear shocks replaced. The Bilstein B4 were nowhere to be found in the States. Huh? Yeah, none. I opted for the B6 of which 2 were found. 🤬 WTF? Just wanted to share that. Also. Being Porsche, they must have been aware of the short comings of those components. No disrespect to them but, come on man. I’ve owned only Porsche for the past 15 years. 5 different models, and dare I say, there is a common thread amongst them.... everything you just covered. Having said that, I love my Porsche❤️. Ya in ya out? Take good care.

So I just got my first 911, a 2000. Why is it moving all over the road at 120 mph ? Totally on track only.
Knackered suspension, worn, mismatched or low tyre pressure, tracking way out.

I opted for the B6 of which 2 were found. 🤬 WTF? Just wanted to share that. Also. Being Porsche, they must have been aware of the short comings of those components. No disrespect to them but, come on man. I’ve owned only Porsche for the past 15 years. 5 different models, and dare I say, there is a common thread amongst them.... everything you just covered.
