    This is my yellow C4S and I asked Luke to get it back to 'factory fresh' as this isn't just my weekend toy but a car I intend to own forever. Luke and Ollie did an amazing job and I couldn't have been happier with the result, it was certainly worth every penny and was ultimately great value for the car I got back. I live around 5-6 hours away from FGP and there are a lot of decent Porsche specialist's a lot closer to me but it just goes to show the trust I have in the guys. Also, the communication over the 4 or so months the car was with Luke was second to none and I was kept updated at every step which is refreshing to say the least. Top guys and highly recommended!!!!

    Are Öhlins worth it for strictly road use? The M030 fitted is too stiff and the car needs a setup with greater compliance to deal with dodgy road surfaces.

    just watching this video just loving what you Boys have done. I am in Sydney and have a 98 3.4 Carrera Manual ... I was considering what to do with the suspension and you have sold the M030 very well ... no need for Coilovers, it would appear. I have the GT3 steering wheel, and the GT3 series 1 split rims ... so I think M030 it is. I note you used genuine Brakes (or Zimmerman) and the pads are Textar, so they work a treat as well. I have the Gundo hack, which I feel is similar to the yellow car. I all, you've given me a lot of inspiration for my car, in a very comprehensive and entertaining way. Thank you !!! Now, where do I get a FGP t-Shirt, to wear in Sydney, Australia??

    Now that was a good video Luke! It's like you and Ollie are best mates.
    Paul is so lucky he did not go with the Olins. I just saw Esysman do a video about them. He has them on a 911 and was advised to park it and not drive it even to the shop. They supposedly do separate at the top mount and of course crash the car.

    Great vid boys. Spec now near identical to mine. You probably know the relay that controls the PSE puts it on quiet mode between 25 and 45 kph. Meets some Euro noise laws it seems. There is a hack for the relay that truly leaves it open when “open” selected. It’s a 5 min job. So you may offer that to customers ….

    • @friendsgreenporsche5234
      @friendsgreenporsche5234  3 роки тому

      Thanks David. If you want to disable the quiet mode between 25-45 (which is MPH) it is easiest to simply disconnect the vacuum lines from the vacuum units.

      I’ve heard only a few but my own 996.2 with a new Porsche switchable exhaust system sounds brilliant. When driving along rural roads in East Kent, just like the ones around FGP, i have as much fun in every department of go, braking, sounds, feel, emotion and a little pride in ownership, as I do on my classic motorcycles.
      The problem I’ve now got is, when I see that it’s going to be a beautiful day, what to use? I’ve two Suzuki GT motorcycles with deep personal history and it’s joyous to thrash them around the lanes and along sweeping rural A roads. Good thing they’re not very powerful (70bhp max) because it’s true what they say. Much more fun pushing a slow vehicle fairly hard than driving a fast vehicle with unavoidable caution.
      The 996 “GTS” as JayEmm calls the 40th anniversary edition isn’t slow, but compared with the performance of an equivalent 992, it’s so much more useable. Which is why I bought it, and it was half the price of a late letter 992 GTS.

    Hello Luke. The pandemic has had far reaching effects. I recently had my rear shocks replaced. The Bilstein B4 were nowhere to be found in the States. Huh? Yeah, none. I opted for the B6 of which 2 were found. 🤬 WTF? Just wanted to share that. Also. Being Porsche, they must have been aware of the short comings of those components. No disrespect to them but, come on man. I’ve owned only Porsche for the past 15 years. 5 different models, and dare I say, there is a common thread amongst them.... everything you just covered. Having said that, I love my Porsche❤️. Ya in ya out? Take good care.

    A great video of a really nicely prepared car, full marks to Luke and the crew. Just one thing though.......use of the "F" word is a bit of a no-no, it's not necessary and detracts from the otherwise excellent commentary.
