Monteverde inks are totally underrated. They are some of my favorites! I loved this video. I always find myself saying "tealish, turquoise, aqua...??" because I don't know what to call them. Haha. I should just stick with "blue-green."

I totally agree! Their new names "Blue-green inks" ... or would it be "green-blue inks".... oh no there are seriously too many options haha

About Calanque. The digraph "qu" in "que" is pronounced as a /k/, and as usual, in french you don't pronounce the final e. Therefore when saying Calanque just end the word with /k/. Something like /Kalank/, with the "an" being actually a nasal a.

Organics Studio Aldous Huxley is one of rhe most underrated teal inks around - possibly my favourite. I recommend trying it!

I don't write with these colors enough, but the swatches are always my favorite! They look especially beautiful all together.

Thank you!! I have been enjoying how my ink journal is starting to look like an art book from all the big color swatches :)

Hi - thanks for your videos! It’s really nice to see, stunning in some instances and very informative. But please consider researching the pronunciation of the inks beforehand. Me not speaking Japanese it only feels weird, the French names give me shivers!

Thanks for the tip! I have been working harder to pronounce the inks better. I'm always open to pronunciation help!

You should try Diamine Aurora Borealis. It is so beautiful but subtle.

Very pretty colors. Im inspired to order some samples.
I knew you liked teal because my sticker order from you had hand lettering in a very pretty teal color. A very nice surprise with the plant stickers I’m enjoying very much. Thank you.
Poor Hades in time out. He sounds like a wee baby.

💝💝💝 I 100% recommend trying out some samples!! I have found some of my favorite inks that way, and also steered clear of inks I did not like at all. Teal is such a beautiful complex color too. I'm so glad to hear you love your order, that makes me so happy. 😊 Hades is definitely a big baby haha. He has grown quite a bit, but still likes to think he is a kitten.

Loved all these inks! Now I know that camera lens and lighting both affect how we see the colors as we see them differently from our cameras most of the time, but based on what I see through your video, Edwards, Nunobiki and Bleu Calanque looked the most turquoise to me even though Nunobiki is very teal in person! Edwards Gardens goes on the paper as a teal and then dries to a slightly bluer teal (I compared it with my Emerald of Chivor, and it does dry looking more blue than EoC). But my understanding of these two crazy colors is that teal is greener and turquoise is bluer. In the ink industry, most turquoises seem to just be a sky blue with some green in it, so you never see a turquoise that actually looks a bit green. So if something looks like a sky blue with the tiniest bit of green, I call that a turquoise. Any other color you think should be a turquoise but has much more green, is always a teal. Though I don't like that almost ANYTHING that is green (from seafoam green to aqua green to mint green) are all categorized as teals or called teals when they can just be called something closer to what they really are. That really muddies up the whole turquoise teal issue xD Thanks for sharing

Thank you so much!! I love all the information we are getting about Teals and Turquoises and now Aqua. How could I forget Aqua?! 💙

@@mydandeliondiaries I think Pelikan Edelstein Apatite is like an Aqua blue :D It's more of that than a turquoise because it's so much more beautiful than Lamy Turquoise, which is the standard turquoise.

Teal is green leaning and turquoise is blue leaning? I know the stone, turquoise, can be very green, but the best turquoise is much bluer. Like sleeping beauty turquoise.
The light color that is in between blue and green was called aqua. I don't hear people calling this color by that name anymore for some reason. Aqua is like blue green water (aqua means water) or the stone aqua marine which is a soft green blue.

Hi there! Lovely video. Stepping in here for a quick pronunciation tip -- "calanque" is a type of cove/inlet on the French riviera where the sea usually appears a beautiful turquoise. It's pronounced "kalank" (the an sound resembles the one in "shan't" in British English).

I'm a weirdo and don't like dipping my pen nibs in ink. 🙈 I only syringe fill.

    • @mydandeliondiaries

That's awesome!! I have a few pens I prefer to syringe fill but I'm too impatient to wait for the ink to get to the feed 😅 so i usually end up dipping some of the nib in the ink haha.
