Is it silly that I'm sad that mine didn't come with a star or any little cute extra? I got the Thursday and I do really like it. I agree that the turns to open are a lot, but don't (yet) have any other Benu pens to compare it to.

I got the creative Thursday and I’m super sad I didn’t get any kind of resin star with mine. That bums me out. For me, it’s a super comfortable pen, but I have been insanely annoyed with the turns. Mine takes 6 turns and where it twists to open with the converter doesn’t always go right on. I’m considering letting mine go already. I just think for the $30 price difference, the same Benu quality isn’t there. I’d rather spend the $160 for a Euphoria. But they are so pretty and lovely writers so I am still using it.

Danielle. I am from the Caribbean. And pizza ain’t pizza without pineapple. There just something about the sweet acidic taste blending with the pizza sauce. And the juiciness it adds. 😂😂😂 Its all about the combinations to be honest. And I always laugh when I hear this debate online.

I used the Journey planner for one month. Like you, I LOVE the layout. Using my OPUS 88 mini with Chou Kura black ink it never feathered or bled through. February I tried a few other inks. All bled through and feathered. Also like you I considered using ballpoint or fineliner, but I WANT my fountain pens!!! So I went back to the Cousin. Now the layout of the Cousin annoys me after the Journey. What to do 😟🙈🫣

Oh, I want to tell you that I reached out to Esterbrook because I had an EF flex which was SO BAD. Esterbrook sent out a new nib (M) the very next day. Definitely worth asking them for a replacement if you're not happy!

In the movie "A Good Year" with Russell Crowe, there is a scene where he as a boy is signing checks for his Uncle. It appears to be a green ink with blue tones. Do you know what that ink was and is it or something close to it available? I have purchased 12 different green inks so far and can't seem to find a match. Thank you.

I have only seen one other Pen-tuber do this. Which is what I have wondered. I want to make my own “sailor clone” of their limited editions.

I have the Exciting Friday one and I love writing with it but I feel like to use it as a daily pen on Friday I'd have to start uncapping it on Wednesday to have enough time to do so.

I know this video is a bit older now, but I wanted to share some of my matches. I only have access to FWP inks right now, though I'm aiming to expand my collection to other brands soon. For January I used my Steeped Umber because I didn't have anything relatively close and it looked like a reddish brown, I made do with some Faber Castell brush pens for value. The Marigold Mildliner is pretty close too I think. I wish I would have used Hearty Harvest instead since it looks similar but darker and more saturated, but ah well. Will probably save that for September. I think the base color of Land of Shangri-la is a near dead-on match to February (I was originally just going to cheese it and use a Warm Gray-ish ink because that's how the text looks, but Shangri-la looks closest to the swatch, and it has gray shading.) I agree with Grape Ice Pop being close for March besides for value, just being a darker version. I don't have anything relatively close to April and May, though I may just use Peter Moss for May as it is the closest I have and it's legible. June is Dancing Thyme, near perfect match. Lapis Lullabies is pretty close to July, it is a shimmer and has red shading though but the base color is pretty close if not slightly darker. The new Moonbeam Meadows is pretty dead on if not slightly lighter for August. I just got it in the mail today and it's a really pretty color! October I'm going with Purple Jade Rabbit. Though it is somewhat light, it is legible to me, and I have sketched with it before. Might use other pens besides FPs for more values alongside it. November is a little difficult, it's very blue but still solidly green. I am thinking of going with Open Sea Atrium/Morningside Mint this month (they're very similar to each other but OSA has gold shimmer.) It's not dead on, quite a bit lighter, but I've been itching to touch OSA since it was my inky first love lol. And December, I think Wonderland in Coral is pretty close, maybe slightly orange-er, but it's close enough for me (I don't have the biggest ink collection.)

I hope they don't discontinue the Euphoria or Talisman because I love those. These just don't appeal to me. I wasn't attracted to any of the resins, and they just look a bit cheap to me. I appreciate you sharing this, however. And that is just my opinion. There is a pen for everyone, and this model is not for me.

Thanks for the lovely video! I will probably get a Daily Mate at some point but I'm also torn between the Sunday and Monday - both resins are super pretty. While 5 turns seems excessive I don't think it'd bother me too much. I do sometimes cap my pens when I'm thinking about my next sentence/paragraph but in those cases I usually just do like half or one turn and just hold the pen like that. In between writing sessions I wouldn't mind the 5 turns.

Much prettier on your camera. Nice pick. 5 turns to open is weird. For those of you that will annoy think of those turns as a zen exercise to slow down and enjoy your writing process.

I surprised myself and got Thursday!! I don't have any brown pens so I decided it would be my perfect first brown pen because it's also so so so so purple.

I got Creative Thursday, and I really like it: deep pearly purple resin swirled with pearly chocolate brown. The sparkles surprised me, because I thought it would be all gold glitter, but it's gold AND silver which sometimes appears purple if it's reflecting from deeper in the resin. I really enjoy the fluted grooves along the barrel. I also find the Daily Mate to be an ideal size compared to the other models. I don't understand why the pen needs five turns for the cap, and if I'm going to be doing much capping/uncapping, I choose a different pen. Other than that, I'm very happy with it. What color is your Lamy Safari? Its beautiful! I was looking at the Dailymates at Atlas and that Sunday shimmer is stunning in person with that light blue hint. Gorgeous addition.

I decided that my first Benu will be the pocket pen coming soon. I don’t imagine there would be 5 turns to uncap on that one. 🤷‍♀️ The resins on the Monday and Thursday pens are really nice. If I had to choose it would be one of these two.

I've got Wednesday, they're really nice pens. I love the blingyness of benu . I've got it in broad, probably a bit too broad, more like an extra broad but it writes so smooth. A delight to write with.

The ‘Fresh Monday’ and ‘Ralaxing Sunday’ are the two I am torn between as well. I think I'm gonna wait to purchase one until the Benu Pixie’s come out, because I have my eye on a couple colors, haha. The only thing that I question is the turns to cap- five just seems like a lot! The Euphoria’s are two and a half- and when im really eager to write or draw, even that can seem like a lot! Its a lovely pen though! I gonna have a hard time choosing between the two colors.
