I agree with you 100% about Robert Oster's Honey Bee! I thought I was the only one who thinks it's too dry and a touch too green & brown when I want to use a yellow for writing.

That green ink is such a pretty match to that gorgeous pen! I love the way the body catches the light. That medium nib is definitely on the side of broad.

I saw the Atlas exclusive being offered for pre-order. That’s a gorgeous pen.

The nib unit should be a standard jowo #6 nib unit. I screwed in a Franklin Christoph nib unit and a Gravitas nib unit into my Momento Zero Aloha pen.

What a beautiful pen! The green on your pen is stunning! I think that the ink that you choose was perfect. I find it so interesting how pens vary so much in their nib sizes. I bought this exact pen 6 months ago in a 1.5 stub - I love it! The LMZ Grande and G2. 0 are too big for me, they aren't comfortable in *my* hand because of the girth. I am only 4'10" so I have small hands.

The heart of One Book July is to simplify, in whatever way works for you, especially since half of the current year has passed. It’s a time to review what’s been working and what hasn’t in hopes of simplifying, if that is what you want to do. You’ve done a fantastic job of exploring whether or not that would work for you. The Birmingham brown reminds me of the Lamy Topaz ink. I swatched it the other day and had forgotten how beautiful the sheen and green colouring is ❤

I use Rohrer & Klingner's Sketch Ink black as my regular black ink and love it!! I got it at Jet Pens. It's a true black, smooth, wet, and simply perfect. It's my favorite black (and I've tried quite a few of them). Of course, it's completely waterproof, too, and inexpensive. I highly recommend it.

I bought Opera Rose at the beginning of spring and have had it inked up in my Lamy Cosmic since. I love it! It’s definitely not a typical pink, leaning more towards orange/red. Thanks so much for your wonderful ink swatch, videos!!

Get a ink sample holder. It will help with spills.

I appreciate you doing this video even if it’s clearly not your cup of tea 🩸☕️🧛‍♂️ I was actually wondering what inks looks most like blood, I think that would be my main attraction to red ink (though I also like weirdly flat faded red/pinks for some reason). Not entirely blood related, but one ink I really want is wearingeul’s the plague because it reminds me of bruising. I like things to be just a little bit uncomfortable, spice of life 😂 samples of it are hard to come by for me though, and I’m afraid it’ll just write as a boring purple. Swatches can be so misleading 🥲

Hi great job on the video. I do use it as reference. I was able to get a hold on 3 discontinued color from an online store locally. (Fyi i am on the other side of the globe), Tsuyu Kasa Cornflower, Ino Ho Rice ear and Tsukusyi Horsetail, albeit at a premium. Sadly only available in 30 ml size. Thank you for the video for i am new to this hobby. I did order Delta Spaccanapoli Filo Marino ( Italian pens do have some long names) in M to go with the inks 😊.Thanks again for the video 👍.

Extradimensional Umber isn't a creamy coffee, it's a dark roast coffee with how punchy it is. I'm not a fan of the sheen but the base color is pretty nice. The Robert Oster one also reminds me of coffee, but more of a medium roast, it's very pretty I want it now

Khaki has been on my radar for a while now. I have Opera Rose and Sesame Oil as samples and would love to put them in a pen. I would love to see a review of the Sanzen paper. I have the Hobonichi version. My Iroshizuku inks feather in the Sanzen paper, particularly Ina-Ho.

I love/have the Lamy ink in cartridges myself and love it! And that extra dimensional umber is now on my list. And possibly even the khaki!

Oh so fun to see this! I didn’t choose the Khaki when I placed my order for ink samples, but now I want to try it 😅 I got my package delivered yesterday & will try them out in a little bit. It’ll be fun to see how they perform on paper & if I like the same ones the most when i’ve swatched them vs how i thought / felt before swatching.

What a treat to watch you swatch and hear you describe these inks. I love the way you describe the colours and I think I fell in love with these all over again! 🥹 I love Sesame Oil and agree it feels similar to Oyster Hour! To me, it looks slightly brighter and is a more pleasant experience to write with - especially in my EF nib! As for Extradimensional Umber - I'm obsessedddddddd. I'm so happy you love it, too. It reminds me a lot of FWP's Writing Desk, but slightly warmer (which I prefer). If I didn't already own Writing Desk, I'd be tempted to pick Extradimensional Umber up. Also, I apparently live in Autumn all year round with my pens, as I keep re-inking one of my pens with Toffee and am struggling to break away from that combo. 🍂 Thank you for swapping inks with me - I'm grateful for our pen-friendship! 💞

I personally didn't think I would like RO Honey Bee but I actually enjoyed writing with it a lot. KWZ honey is a favorite of mine, I have never tried Old gold to be fair. I wonder what Monarca Rey Jaguar would compare to on these pages. I love all these ink explorations you are doing. One of my favorite type of videos.

i HAVE to get my hands on some sesame oil! i absolutely adore that color! also, what are your impressions of the new tomoe river sanzen paper? :o i've noticed some change every other spread in how thick/wet of a line my fountain pen writes? one spread thin, one spread thick, rinse and repeat. it's pretty consistent regardless of pen/ink and i was wondering if you also had that issue

Great colors. I do love and own a bottle of Opera Rose. The Sailor 573 is really pretty. Sesame Oil is sitting in my cart and has been for a while now lol. This would be perfect for me if this was a page a day. I really want to try something other than the Hobonichi Cousin because I'm not the biggest fan of the paper. I find fountain pen ink bleeds through it when swatching. Also not a fan of dating everything myself... Anyone got ideas for me?

Such very beautiful colors! I own a bottle of the Opera Rose and I do really enjoy that ink. It does well in any pen I have put it in. The ink from Birmingham Pen Company was really gorgeous!! That one was my favorite!!! Thank you for sharing all of these inks with us!!❤❤❤

I loveeee the videos where you don't use the inks before because your reactions figuring out what's going on is so cute!! And not to sound super dramatic, but there is NOTHING that compares to machine #9 TRP and it's so maddening. I can't believe as many competitors as there are, no one can replicate that paper. There's no comparison I've found.
