I know your comment was like 1 year ago but, Yes, it is dangerous only if you do it in a agressive manner, it puts pressure against a part in the ear, which is why you want to gently.
After every cold I have I get a blocked ear for about 3 weeks and the longest ive every hsd a blocked ear is 3 months, Every time I try this it is extremely painful, No idea why, But when I went to the doctors they just said "Well you don't have an infection" That was it, So I have no idea why my ears are so weird
Sometimes you need to get your ear flushed. But if it was clogged from pressing on your ear then its cause of that and then you don’t need to flush them

Yeah, that just makes it worse. I've been dealing with a clogged ear for two days now, and if my jaw moves, it hurts. I've tried blowing like this a little harder to fix it, and instead my ear feels like it's bubbling (which is painful and i do NOT recommend it.) I tried this, and it feels like the pressure in it got worse.
My audiologist recommends not doing that because you can damage your ears doings that if you do it too hard, which is easy to do. She recommends plugging nose completely compressing one ear shut and swallowing 3x. She said every 3x you swallow your ears drain
One random thing that temporarily eased my suffering (psyologically) was listening to music in the blocked ear bud only. Then taking it out. It kind of offsets the blockage. Like an equaliser. You're offsetting it. It's not a physical solution but it still helps

That works on an airplane. I learned it because I saw somebody sitting by me do it and I thought oh wow and I'm so grateful that person at person accidentally taught me how to unblock my Ears. It's a scuba diving technique Someone said that anyway
