Ohhh I So Feel Your Pain!! 😂😂 very cool though. As I keep telling my sons. This work is extremely tedious and you have to have so much patience in the wood, saw and in yourself. I think I figured out my problem. It’s the blades I’m using to refit. I’m using an aggressive blade an Olsen. It was good to see that even someone as adept with this as you, has the same frustrations that us newbies have. Have a great week! Thank you so much! I’m not sure if you have made a video about saws yet. However I think it’s important to tell others that the saw really has nothing to do with the finished product. Yours is very nice. Yet used runs about 500$ new is about 1000$. And some people are visual learners and think they need exactly what you have to produce great products. And it’s not true. I have fallen into that also. And learned the expensive way. Thank you again! I’m a small business owner that sells intarsia. And am trying to emulate Kathy Wise. And have been at a stand still with the gaps. Each of my pieces has about 100 different pieces. I’m usually good, but when I’m not. Well I’m not 😂
Thanks for the comment! I never thought about my saw and how folks may think they can't make intarsia unless they have a spendier saw. I do have a saw that I got at a garage sale for 30 bucks. I should make an intarsia with that saw next time! Thanks!
Cy Cy Cy ......... (sigh ) thank you so much for this video . useing a standard blade that cuts on the right ,and running seams thru cutting only one piece of material is the key that i was missing !! now i can finally use all these remade pieces on the next project !!
Thanks for the video a new technique for me, I just started in this beautiful art, what kind of paints do you use to paint and give color to the woods thanks. greetings from Peru
Hello! The wood I use is all natural in color. I have rarely used wood stains or paints for the different colors :) I know watered down acrylic and watercolors can tint the wood, as well as stains. Have fun!!!!
Thanks for the video and new (to me) technique, Cy! I really appreciate that you took a (kind of) flaw in the blade and used it to your advantage. I think the technique is akin to using a router with a bearing? You are using the piece on the left as a guide. Anyway that's how I see it not making the gap worse. Love the shirt! #gapshappen
@Robert Kutz Hegner :) This one has a different way to hold the blade, some don't like it because it takes more time to change a blade, but it keeps the blade straight and no blade slip. That was most frustrating to me with my Excalibur. I sold my Excalibur and got a Hegner. :) Hegner Multimax 22-V Variable Speed Scroll Saw: advanced-machinery.myshopify.com/products/multimax-22-v-variable-speed-scroll-saw

Someone once said to me If you are not making mistakes you are not learning. Boy I must be learning a lot.
Hahaha that's right! We'll keep on learning!
So true! So mistakes are just learning bumps!
We all learn from our mistakes, I'm not bragging but I am getting one hell of an education!
Thanks Cy---
Yer welcome!

AUGURIIIIII
did anyone accidentally end up here looking for a knitting tutorial? 🤨😄
😂 I've looked up intarsia, expecting wood art, and ending up with knitting stuff before 😂
Your gonna need a bigger boat......LOL....great tips Cy..
Thanks Robert!
Bacon Grease & Sawdust is the best gap fixer.
Bacon grease....mmmmmm!!!
I just mark pinch point positions on each piece and carefully sand those down until it's flush.
Awesome!!!
If it takes that long I will just do it the old way I use.
Whatever way works best for you :)
If this hard for you, I have no chance lol
Hahaha! You can do it!!!
