Check out the spindle sanders by Rigid and Triton. I have a Rigid and it works really well for the coarse shaping. I finish the shaping with a Dremel tool's drum sanders (3 sizes). I'm not into speed sanding.
I am sorry to say that Judy Gale Roberts passed away on Sept 1, 2024 after a short illness. We will all miss her sweet spirit and vast talent.
