Intarsia Woodworking - Making A Kathy Wise Goldfish

I'm new to Intarsia Woodwork so I bought myself a Kathy Wise book and decided to have a go at making the Goldfish project.
This fish is made from Beech with a Walnut eye :)
Scroll saw used was the Axminster EX21 with a Pegas Blade

Perhaps...Im following the book page by page so not sure if theres a project with stains yet...I haven't skipped that far yet. :) But I may try it on my other fish i made...the pine one. Ive never really messed with stains before apart from the Medal Display I made so it'll be good to see what they are like to use.

Funnily enough...I’ve just looked at the book and the next page talks about staining with acrylic wash. 😂. You’re one step ahead of me 😂

If the stains come out it won't be called intarsia anymore as no stains are used. Just different types of wood..just saying.

Beautiful work..just to be picky I would say this project is called segmentation more then intarsia, ok you used a different wood for the eye,so it's a tight call..lol.still a beautiful fish...

Yes I will agree...something I learnt only after making and posting this up. I made a tropical fish video shortly after this one and used a couple of different woods just to make sure 😂. They’re surprising difficult to make 😂.
