Beth: watch your equipment, it's important!
Me: *endless nameless flashbacks*
luis lopez lmao same
I was just about to say that
So true dude 😂😂
lol she's a girl guys :p
I was literally finding for this comment
"The equipment is important..." You don't know Kurt Cobain, do you?
Hhahahahahaa
Lasse Andresen exeactly he had a fight with krist once with their gitars its good that she didnt see it
Man.. it's hard to tell😂
Kurt Cobain smashing every amp and guitar in the afterlife.
@@chrisgriffin2579 To be fair most of what we saw Kurt smashing guitar heads through onstage weren't actual amps. It's common practice now to have fake amp stacks for the "look" record company execs think a show should have. Almost all of the amps on stage are just plywood boxes with grille cloth on the front. They generally fold down flat for easy transport. They are fake, unneeded, inauthentic and pissed Kurt off. That's why his guitars - usually - came through breaking the "amps" onstage without any significant damage. If he tried that shit with real amps it's likely he would have died from the incredibly high voltage running through the tube amps he preferred at some point. Steel guitar strings being an good electrical conductor and all.
The distortion in Kurt's voice was amazing. Plus, he had the most beautiful speaking voice.
Such a wonderful human who is missed by millions..
certainly not a wonderful human, he was drug addict and a real douchebag
@VloneThug Derek im not talking about him being sarcastic, im talking about his immature behaviour.
R.I.P. Kurt, to a man who had a voice for millions who didn't have one
Narang Abing Lol judging much
@@godspeed69 lmao just because someone is a drug addict that doesnt mean the person is bad thats so fucking mind closed
Beth: your equipment is important
Kurt: hand me the next guitar
@Kavorkian Scarf Like uuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm 100-200$ 300 If it is a special occasion
Kavorkian Scarf most of the time, he used like a $30 guitar lol
Kurt's voice sounds like a second guitar.
You said it better than anyone, Teen Spirit is the best example
That is correct actually. Amazing singer/songwriter.
That's his superpower.
Or viceVersa
Such as krist and dave, free guys where à band of 6 musicians !
"Your equipment is important!"
Kurt: "it's clobbering time" *smashes guitar*
"let's fuck the speakers up too"
🤣
It’s clobberin hour m’lady
“I’m gonna throw this guitar at the bass”
Let's have a sword fight with my guitar and your bass guitar
Beth you've gotta check out Where did you sleep last night at Nirvana's Unplugged set!!
yes please do
Well, yeah, she has to do this one.
why is this the one always suggested?? why not lake of fire, or about a girl, or come as you are. like this songs okay, and has a great end to it but is it the best one? noooooo.
Everybody is only suggesting covers that Kurt did. How about one of his originals!
@@buzzkillington3840 Because it shows his voice more, duh. Same reason why this video was a bit of a waste. It doesn't show much of his voice.
"Your equipment is important"
Nirvana's road manager was tasked with finding cheap pawn shop guitars in each town they played just so Kurt could destroy it onstage.
I wonder if he did he same for the drum kits Kurt would throw himself into...
@@WillJM81280 I know this is necro, but I figured I would share a cool story with you regarding that. It only happened once and Kurt messed himself up pretty bad. He did it because he and Dave were not getting along at the time and he wanted to damage his kit to piss Dave off. It, ironically, saved their friendship because Dave never had an ill bone in his body towards Kurt and never left his side while he was in the hospital.
A better song to react to by Nirvana would have been where did you sleep last night (MTV unplugged) That's something else.
Or even Drain You live in Paris. That legendary scream.
@@hakujin6167 yeah that was amazing
Nah, Territorial Pissings.
@@monsterhog1118 Whoa! That's a bit advanced for the kiddies.
i am so otherworldly happy that so many ppl all share the same basic memetic building blocksssssssss
Lol, the funny thing is that Kurt tried going to a vocal coach, but he was laughing way too hard to go on with it. Apparently there was a recording of this, but it's been lost to time.
He went to a coach the coach sent him back to the studio with tapes of warms ups and Dave Krist and Kurt just laughed at them then Kurt threw them away
Lmao
Omnik yeah didn't Dave tell that story?
@@aneurysm1991 Yeah
I would have LOVED to have heard that recording of how he sounded after working with the voice coach...
Lol!!!
Love it! Would love to see a reaction to the unplugged set Nirvana did. "Where Did You Sleep Last Night". Haunting, Beautiful.
I love that song!
Yes please !!! Nirvana Unplugged and where did you sleep last night will fit much better for Beth's reactions, also will be fun to watch something for the Reading festival
or Pennyroyal Tea!!!1!1
Yes yes yes yes yes. This song is great but it's just a fun heavy song. Not so much a vocal example of his.
i hated that whole unplugged series...except for nirvana and the cures unplugged!
I once watched an interview with Kurt Cobain and he said that he would smoke a pack of cigarettes before a show to tune his voice. He said he likes notes that he has to struggle to hit.
His voice was just so unique and perfect for nirvana. Rest In peace
She does a really good job with balancing her reactions. I don’t watch many videos like these but I like how she explains his tone and points out Krist’s no shoes
I saw Nirvana play in a gym. Was literally 2 feet from them, and we were moshing like crazy...... those were fun times.
Bill Bored - so so so jelly
Were you all wearing Territorial Gym-slips? lol.
She:"your equipment is important"
(90's and Fight Club flashes in my head...)
Me:"no, its not"
"Your equipment is important.." be glad you didn't decide to react to Endless, Nameless from the same show!
Dave Grohl is so young. A much better song to do an assessment of Kurt Cobain's singing would have been something like "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" Unplugged.
Yeap... don´t know why that song was chosen
It still bugs me to this day that he left the skins to write painfully average dad rock songs. He had the fastest wrists I've ever heard on a rock drummer and played with a ferocious energy that just evaporated into.... just meh. He went from being one of the most exciting musicians in the genre to writing garden variety sports arena rock songs. I mean I don't hate him, and he'll always be among my favorite drummers, but I'll always think of what could have been when it comes to Dave.
@@mikerhoa he still played drums on some good records since Nirvana. Probot, NIN, QOTSA, Killing Joke.
Agreed
Agreed. I think it's Cobain's best vocal performance of his career, a true masterpiece.
Where did you sleep last night - Nirvana .... Please please please
Yash Joshi this. So much this.
Oh man, I've been waiting for this for ages, thank you so much Beth😀
So happy you reacted to them. I definitely recommend something from their MTV unplugged set to get a different side of Kurt. That concert is phenomenal.
Where did you sleep last night.
React to Radio Friiendly Unit Shifter live MTV live and Loud 1993 by Nirvana. Kurt Cobain
That whole concert is their best live performance
Great performance for sure
Even those of us whom grew up listening to Nirvana and live in WA have no idea what he’s saying when he’s singing.
Your videos are just great, Beth. Love 'em.
Dave killing it on the drums as always \m/
"we can plant a house, we can build a tree, i dont even care"
Man With Two Eyes we could have all 3!
Irish Blade SHE SAID
"I don't mind, not have a mind"
that's genius!!! 👆👆
This is one of my favorite Nirvana performances! Thank you for doing this one! :)
Oh, Beth. Your videos always make me smile
I love Kurt's voice because I can copy it. It's so good, yet you could still do it whilst absolutely drunk (and Kurt did a few times). If you're trying to replicate it, I find it great to just loosen your throat, and push just enough air out to fry your chords. If it hurts, you're doing it wrong, but it should come naturally within a month or two of trying. Start off with a low croak (I usually start with an "aaahhh" sound, very slow and fairly low frequency), speed it up until you can push past it without wrecking it. Then, push more air out than you usually would (not too much, it could hurt). It's less of a scream that a whimper, but with the air flow of a scream.
If my tips don't work, then sorry. I'm not a vocal coach, just some jackass in his bedroom screaming at walls and ruining guitar amps!
Kurt? Is that you?
Beth: your equipment is important
Kurt: start jumping in the drum set "HeY aXeL Hi AxIl"
Love your videos! Especially when you really get into the song.
Can't decide what I enjoy more, your content (which is awesome), or your dope accent (also awesome)!
An analisis on Nirvana, amazing.
PD:I love you and your accent, btw
Best reaction 2:31 xD
Oh, no shoes
My Bass'o'face Krist
Hey Beth you are suddently my favorite reactor. I like your music selections a lot :) and your vocal explanations.
I love watching your videos because I've seen others that really focus on the technical aspects, which is fascinating, but you reference that part of it while taking moments to just enjoy the music. Love it!
Great reaction! Would love to see you react to their version of Where Did You Sleep Last Night. Such a haunting song
two of my favorite things..nirvana & beth roars..perfect!..could you please make a reaction of portishead's glory box..thank you..:D
Great reaction, You taught me something about his vocals that I never understood. Well done!
Omg I'm so glad you chose this one. Been so depressed I needed the energy only this song can provide! Breed✊✊✊✊✊
Soundgarden - beyond the wheel, April 16th 1990 👌
no bro the 1994 performance is way better
Ive heard you talk about "the break" a couple times...is that the distinction between head voice and chest voice?
Last time I complained about the sound quality.
This time you have a other mic or set up and it's back to good.
thank you Beth.
I love listening to your reactions to singers
Howling feedback.

Just luv ya Beth. Your reviews are always so informative. If recommended reviewing Nirvana Unplugged- Where did u sleep last night. You'll love it.
Dear Beth i truly appreciate your video. I adore you being surprised on certain things about Nirvana. Lovely, really ; ) much love, have a good day
Mad Season - Wake Up Live at the Moore 1995. Layne Staley killing it.
His vocal was so just special nobody could ever sing like him
Até que enfim um vídeo do Nirvana!
Your hair are stunning! 😍
I think big long now was my favorite from them, havent listened to that stuff in a while.
The dancing person on the back always makes me happy
Dancing Tony!!
First time i listened to nirvana is like magic, so much energy and power in ther music. No doubt they are one of the best bands of all time.
Awesome, thanks Beth 🔥
Please react to Eddie Vedder's incredible interpretation of Black in the Unplugged.
Equipment is important
Kurt: What is equipment?
This still gives me goose bumps after 28 years of listening to it! Raw
I was 19 when Nevermind was released. What a glorious time the early 90's was, and I am fortunate to have made it out alive. I still listen to Nevermind at least once a month, and so do my neighbors.
You should react to auroras "The Seed" live. It was posted on triple j's channel the 23rd of May. I think you'll like it
Please reacts to where did you sleep last night, by Nirvana (unplugged) it's wonderful!!!
The 90's was the golden days for rock music. This is one of my favorite songs of Nirvana.
Thank YOU BETH
Finally nirvana I'm so excited
Listen to Nirvanas first record
Dude was a real powerhouse
Thanks for bringing me back to teenage!
🤘🤘
Cheers from Sweden 🍻
in this performance kurt voice was at his very peak for sure. he was at his prime and they were all obviously monsters of the stage.btw ur analysis is very great, salute for u vocal coach u re indeed awesome.
In their SNL performance... if I remember it was 'Territorial Pissings', you can actually see Kurts top cheeks? puff out while he sings... accurate with Beth saying he sang with his breathe up front and although the distortion sounds like a strain on the vocal cords (chords?), it most certainly was not.
Do "where did you sleep last night" Unplugged version by Nirvana
Oooooo...... she AIN'T gonna like that scream in the end of that one lol! 😂 Beth: "Oh shit! Has anyone seen Kurt's little vocal chords lying around on the floor anywhere???? He's gonna need those for his NEXT SHOW! :)"
It's funny- I'm female and somehow I can do a scary-good Eddie Vedder imitation, but I cant even BEGIN to try to sing like Kurt! Don't know how he does it.
You are like an angel! I love your accent.
My favs of theirs. That opening drum is killer AF. Saw it live and it was ridiculous.
Beth check out Nirvana unplugged from MTV!🔥🔥🔥
Please react to Type O Negative - Nettie. You would find it interesting. :)
It's been years since I listened to this, but now I think I need to get my CDs out and make an afternoon of it :)
Nice new setup!!!
Kurt Cobain’s voice sounds Mind Blowing
"voice" was Kurt's little nickname for his shotgun
@@rays5163 Damm bro. Lol. Kurt GoBang.
They lived it back in the 90s.
There was substance.
The music meant everything.
Not just Nirvana.
Many of the Bands back then,
Came from the soul.
Sometimes it was too much and killed everybody.
But it was real
what
@@johnnycarr1999 really you don't understand what I said you don't understand that I was saying that the bands back in the 90s we'ren't just dudes trying to make money.
They were musicians living a Crazy Life. And their life's reality slipped into the music really,,you're going to type. "what " like you don't understand what I'm saying.
Some of them we're so real so authentic that the lifestyle killed them.
What? What ? what? you just want to be a smart-ass.
Don't act so dumb.
Back in the 90s shit was authentic
Nowadays everybody's full of shit,
posers. Everyone just wants a mansion .
Anyways if you you need me to explain my comment any further please ,please don't be afraid to say
"What"
Durp de der
TrueeeeeE
Ela surpresa com o Kurt derrubando o pedestal já ganhou meu like.
You have an amazing speaking voice.
You should react to some pantera or something from phil anselmo.
MOTHER LOVE BONE.
Chloe crown of thorns.
Have a look to their concert at Paradiso, Amsterdam. Late 1991, phenomenal.
There have been a lot of “vocal coach reacts” channels that have cropped up lately, but yours is my favorite. You are not fake at all and you are focused on technique. Funny thing though. I’ve never seen a video where you were like..”ohh don’t do that. That will injure you.”
Ghost - If You Have Ghosts Acoustic Live
btw: the "water" comes from one of the best drummers in history of music!
On drums, that's the legendary Dave Grohl(lead singer/guitarist) from Foo Fighters. He's a really good vocalist himself btw.
REACT TO WHERE DID YOU SLEEP LAST NIGHT!!!!!
I would have sworn if a vocal coach ever looked at how Kurt sang they'd be horrified, haha. Never thought he was singing correctly much as he's kind of god.
I thought the same haha (but I still think that Kurt was a great, awesome, beautiful songwriter and a not-very-good singer)
He's not singing correctly haha, that's why he's brilliant and not boring
@@underkoffer1621 No I mean "correctly" as in a sustainable way that wouldn't hurt him in the long term. I sing in a band with similarish vocals (probably a little bit more extreme) but there's a correct way to do it so that you don't damage yourself. You're right though he is bloody brilliant. There'll never be another Kurt.
Kevin Jon Lennon So true about there never being another Kurt. Right after, Kurt passed away, I bought a guitar and learned to play as Kurt did. But after three years in a band, it got so monotnus, playing the two finger chords so I learned to actually play. I wrote most of our songs but nothing ever came from them. Kurt was a great song writer. We got about ten records worth of songs from him. Hope more come, soon.
He was constantly tearing up his vocal chords and coughing up blood after his shows. The smoking habit didn't help either. But the sounds he made were awesome. Unhealthy and would never have lasted long-term. But amazing nonetheless.
I love your smile!
I love at the end when Kurt is just like "thanks"
"the equipment is important" - you have seen nothing so far LOL (even tho I agree with your point, I also loved their wild side)
Jaque line So, true. I heard Dave say that if they did not like the crowd, they played very fast just to leave the stage and not to be seen after the show by the audience.
Drain You (Live) by Nirvana in Paris! Kurt's guitar stops working, and it's one of those rare moments you see him on stage without a guitar. And it's just a great live performance. :)
TY for suggesting that, I never knew that performance existed. I knew Kurt hated the JagStang as Fender released it (I have a Sonic Blue one and it is temperamental) Still, thanks for switching me on to this performance :-D
The scream after the buildup is one of the best from any live version of Drain You they ever did!
People enjoy when they listen kurt I do cry 😭 I miss you kurt love from Nepal 2021
Watching this exactly a year after it went out
That’s Kurt the legendary.... no matter what you listen you have to back listen to nirvana to get your bad energy out
Please react to Radiohead - Street spirit (live in yokohama 1995)
It will blow your mind
I see what you did there

So glad you finally did Nirvana! Please do something from their unplugged show in 1993 :)
Yesss you're reacting go kurt
Please, please, please, do Black (unplugged version) by Pearl Jam.
Noah she already did lol
