I really love the idea they are encouraging to eat and read and having that book vending machine is genius. You'd think a place like Starbucks would have books to buy while you drink yet, here is a Po' boy establishment making good food and encouraging literature 👏
The closer you get to the hood the better the food.😋
The food in New Orleans is unmatched.
#TRUTH!!!
If you want to gain pounds...go to New Orleans! LOL....My hometown. The food is so good and trust me you can find something good anywhere, normally close to you and usually very affordable!
I like the night time vids. Good vibe, eating late at night.
Make sure to try a hot sausage po-boy before you leave. Or even a sandwich, hot sausage egg and cheese. Thank me later
Nothing like a NOLA hot sausage sandwich.
Grits are a major staple if the not the staple in the South. We eat them for breakfast lunch and dinner. Minus that sugar stuff.
Exactly... In New Orleans we love shrimp and grits, fish and grits anytime of the day, but no sugar.
Absolutely! North Carolina girl here and grits with fish or shrimp was the favorite. I can't do the shrimp so much now, but I still love a nice hot fish with hot sauce and mustard and grits. Blessings!
Grits is from New Orleans. It's a French crop considering we were colonized by the French
You have to grow up accustomed to Grits without sugar,I’m not from the south and only time I actually ate grits was when I was in jail and couldn’t eat it without adding sugar, just me
Parkway Bakery and Tavern or Crabby Jack’s for poboys!! And y’all can’t leave the French Quarter without trying the rabbit and sausage jambalaya and crab claws at Coop’s Place on Decatur St!! And gotta check out Willie Mae’s fried chicken!!
Try bbq shrimp over grits another new orleans staple
Love your honest review. 💯
We have the best food in New Orleans. Next time go to Parkway Tavern. They have the best Po Boy in New Orleans.
Verti Marte in the french quarter got a good po boy sandwich too
That looked good. Does not matter where you eat if you like it then that is all that matters.
I don't be getting lettuce or tomato on my po boys, just shrimp, mayo, ketchup, and I douse every bite in crystal hot sauce as I go to retain the crispiness 🔥🔥
🙌🏽🙌🏽
Beautiful Place and The people are genuinely nice food is banging. You'll enjoy and be safe.
Food looked amazing, i definitely hv to go check it out. But being from Louisiana thats not the real jambalaya thats like the stuff u make out of the box. The real way is in a cast iron pot and its brown looking. You hv to go to real cajun parts of Louisiana to get it
Make sure you get some grilled oysters out there. Them joints fire!!
PO'BOYS!!!
😋😋😋😋😋
Safe Journey!
Yellowbird Blue Agave Sriracha!!!
Thank you for coming to New Orleans!
Love this part of New Orleans, very impressive
When you what the best,go to the city where it’s done right,By the best chefs in New Orleans, cooked with heart love of cooking food.
Next time i go to New Orleans, I'm check out Melba's.
Good eats! Sugar goes on Cream of Wheat, NOT grits 😹.
The look he gave his Wife after finding out there's 96 grams of sugar in the drink 😂😂😂
Go to 14 Parishes Jamican soul food.Salmon is great.
Looks amazing
Yeah Melba’s is wild at night, you lucky.
Hey JL & wifey.. Keep the vids coming. Also enjoy why you do . 🐞🤗
This dude said south do grits😂. We kill the grit game
Never been there, but now I am looking forward to going enjoy🎉
Hit Lorenzo’s Cabana today!!! Excellent!!! Birria quesadilla, birria tacos, Cuban empanadas, cheesesteak empanadas and rice and beans…
Good jawn
Their empanadas are superb
Down the street from golden wings there's a newer joint called Crawlins. They also do boiled seafood (crawfish, shrimp, crab legs, etc.) but the po boys are top notch. Better than Melba's IMO. And if you just want straight up CLASSIC po boy, then Parkway is where you need to go
I'm here now! Gonna add more to my new orleans series. Glad you and wifey had fun 😎👌🏾
Have fun!
I like the new school ordering with the old school cuisine. Growing up in Philly, I loved grits and scrapple. 😋
Get yourself to Haandi’s in NYC the recent documentary by NYT looks good
🙏🏽 Awesome ❤
My favourite city on the planet! Hope ya hit up Creole Creamery. Best ice cream anywhere! And a Shrimp Po Boy is the finest! Shrimp and fish (if it's the trout) is awesome, too! Ya done good! Great video, as always! The bread is native to NOLA, nothing like it anywhere else. And the shrimp is fantastic because it's Gulf shrimp, local to NOLA. None of that Chinese stuff. That gumbo looked righteous! Had the right amount of rice, too. Did ya have any oysters?
Got to get over to Central Deli and Grocery for the Muffalatta.
Looks good JL !!!
JL that looks soooo goood!!!
It looks like polenta...
We say New-Awe-linz or New-ALL-inz or New-OR-lee-anz (if you uptown 🤣) sometimes NOLA or just “the city” but never 🚫N’awlinz and definitely neva-eva say 🤢New-or-LEANS …bruh. 😅
From a ole school 9th Ward Naitive 💜💚💛⚜️✨ sausage
looks fantastic man, good eating as always
have you tried boudin, JL?
Go to Johnny's Po'boy that is the place. Believe me one of the original spots.
I love Melba’s!!!! Great cheap eats!
I would add Tarter sauce to mines.
That sandwich looks banging bro!!! Sending you mad love From Newark NJ!!! Stay safe out there and God bless you and your family!!!✌️

So logne u guys stay safe make sure you keep your head on a swivel stay on point out there
🔥🔥🔥
Yall shoulda got a sloppy roast beef from R&O’s or Parasol’s.
Everybody got they favorite though a French fry po-boy with extra roast beef gravy, dressed plus hot sauce and melted Swiss cheese… hooooo wee I’m telling you that is heaven right there. Mothers is where everyone goes it’s good but it’s expensive now and you gotta go there at 7am and get a black ham biscuit and grits with debris, you’ll be praising the lord right there at the table.
The black ham and lemonade was top notch at Mother's!
❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉 JL JUPITER
“Da Sawf know ha da cook.”😂😂😂😂
Wow! It's asking to translate to English! Wth? LoL
OBSESSED TROLL. Find a 24-hour pharmacy & get there ASAP.
@@rheeryder2524ooh so harsh. No thank you. I graduated from high school and earned a college degree. I don’t work at a McDonald’s like you do.
@@meatloaf82So I’am a “it.” Hmm seems like someone is in the same boat as this clown. Un-educated, can’t talk properly and what they say doesn’t make any sense. Good luck working at the local car wash bro.😂😂 WAIT! You will not understand my reply. I’ll say it so you understand: “yo my boi keep doin ya thing man at da car wash bro, ya feel me? Yo u be gettin’ mad props.”
My comment has more “likes” than yours…boyZ 😂😂
went to melbas while i was out there and had a good ass po boy on the late night, s/o 2 them
I love sugar in my grits. That is the only way I can eat it.
Get that seafood boil
There are so many great PoBoys in NOLA. I suggest you try Mothers! Everything there is killer. Try the Ferdi and all thier side. It has been there forever.
Mother’s on Poydras for the Ferdi Special.
We know you love your Asian food. Try banh mi boys ! They have po boys as well
Bro….. those 96 g of sugar hit different…. Did you see your face my dude😂😂😂😂 you were speechless…
It took over your whole tastebuds
Should have gotten 1 Shrimp and 1 Roast Beef. Those are the staples.
food great 😍😍😋😋
I went there when I visited New Orleans. I didn’t care for it very much. The daiquiris were hitting though!!😂😂😂
You didn't care for it? What does that supposed mean? Where are you from?
No Tahitian Treat JL 😂...It all looks good for your 1st out!
JL JUPITER IS Not black he don't know no nothing about the beverage (Red drink) in da hood
Parkway Tavern for poboys

😁J don't want the voodoo Philly..those grits looked rich & creamy!
I ain’t rocked with Melba’s since the Kapernick situation 💯
If you jave a moment, look up Mothers, Parasoles, and Mahoney's

It's alot if food gatekeeping in here sheesh...let ppl eat what and how they want
Remoulade sauce on the po boy
Try Jonnys off Decatur, best sloppy roast beef n Nola😂
Melba’s is 👍
I love fish and shrimp 🍤 and the grits look scrumptious, I add sugar to mine 😅
Do you get discounts on the meals that you try from all these different places for trying out their food and putting it on your videos for your viewers?
No. It’s all non scripted and authentic.
Them look like some good grits…
Had Melba's when I visited New Orleans food wasn't that great place was packed though.
Nothing in New Orleans is safe. 😂😂😂😂
We have soooo many spots in the city that have wayyyy better poboys than Melba's. Our corner stores & gas stations have better poboys than them. Melba's is definitely overrated, FACTS !! The food is not good over there.
Nawlins
Hey JL....1st today!!!😊
Good video JL,and wifes the brains and beauty in your content lol.
You should have tried their chicken wing plate
I think you use hot sauce unnecessarily. I used to be hot sauce crazy. I was missing out on the real flavor on food. Never put sugar on grits. It’s not cereal.
Hot sauce on everything. Idc
@@JLJupiterTVMe too. Eat the way you like not like anyone else.
@douglassfisher3518 Don’t waste your time with this clown. He isn’t a real food reviewer and my gosh he can’t even speak properly. So just forget him man.
Must not be southern...hot sauce when you can...sugar and butter on grits.
@@JLJupiterTVme too
Where you thinking of comeback sauce?
Hey I noticed you're using the DJI mic. I would look up to make sure the upcoming DJI ban doesn't include the mics either.
Have to go to Poppas Seafood on N.Galvez
Never sugar on grits my friend 😢
cant pray with your hat on
FIRST
Hit the Thumbs Up Button Everyone!!!
Manchus chicken next time…
Melbas you tripping that's one of the worst try Sammie's on Elysian fields
I had the worst PoBoy I've ever had at Melba's. The tiniest dried out shrimp ever. Nasty. I will never eat there again..
Go to Parkway.
MY dude how did you eat all of that and not feel stuffed?
You missed out on the Philly Voodoo PoBoy! That Shrimp and fish was NOT it😡
