Pete’s steakhouse is a hidden gem. That lady is right. Old school bar with great food. I know you’re cheesesteaked out but the Delmonico steak sandwich on garlic bread with hot peppers is insane!

pro ketchup here too, sometimes I switch it up with BBQ sauce - grew up with "dirty water dogs" here in Australia - NEVER grilled hot dogs until I met my wife (who is from the US), I still have them at home dirty water style when she's out, occasionally
A hot dog stand that still do it right,keeping that history going on.never move stay-same and the people will always come back,its great to have a ice cream,after a great meal.
Been going to this place since I was a kid . The hot dogs are amazing . There's a lot of memories of my father taking me there when I was growing up in Trenton NJ . Highly recommend this place ....

Great spot to get a quick lunch, possibly dinner. If you are in the mood for something cold & sweet, you can get some ice cream. I'm partial to Bordentown Creamery. I'm from Bordentown right down by the tire store going South on Rt. 206.
The hot dog with the kraut would be my favorite! Bring me back in the day of NYC dirty dogs from the street carts, I can agree with the sentiments. I like ketsup sometimes but nothing like mustard and kraut, the good old days. Chili dogs I never got too much in. You're a people person JL.

@@JLJupiterTV - Towards the end of Russ's run here he caved in to lots of kids with their parents asking for Ketchup. He would hand out little packs of Ketchup. ALSO, No one ever mentions when there was a first timer (usually a truck driver - before The Interstate happened) Russ had a rubber hot dog. A person would say "Hey Russ, this is my friend's first time here - give him the special". SO the first timer would receive the rubber hot dog. This went on for years until one person bit the end off the rubber hot dog and Russ or anyone else (me) could not find any rubber hot dogs to purchase to replace the bitten into rubber hot dog.
Oh no you didn’t, pulled out ol school Stewards, and dogs. I go by there all the time and will now search dat shxt out. Way to go and shout out to local business. You rock JL

Russ Ayer’s is legit hot dog. As a hot dog enthusiast. It’s in a way a social hot dog. It’s almost like grabbing a beer with a friend. There’s a reason it’s set up as a bar inside. It’s a community place.

Love both places; next time order the Smoreos ice cream. If you go to Bordentown try Under the Moon (get empanadas and churrasco) and Crumb (cheese steak for sure)

No ketchup EVER on a hot dog. Mustard and sauerkraut here. I used to go to Russ Ayers from the 1960's until I moved out of NJ in 2023.

JL you gotta try Chiarellos deli on hamilton ave in hamilton nj, best hoagies around. I recommend getting an italian with sweet Soppressata and imported provolone on it. Also, their stuffed cherry pepper shooters are phenomenal as well.

Love ketchup on hot dogs ( and mustard ) , but you just don't eat it on certain ones, a dog with kraut or chili would be disgusting with anything but mustard. Being from Cincinnati I could be black listed for ketchup on a Coney lol.
