So far I've been enjoying watching how the Jedi police the galaxy in The Acolyte.
I'm with Roxy and as a casual SW fan am enjoying the Acolyte ESPECIALLY because you don't have to have know everything SW to engage with it😁👌
Roxy is 100% spot on with the Buddhism. The point of the Jedi isn’t supposed to be easy. It’s supposed to be hard to even attempt to be one. There’s plenty of other types of people in the universe. And everyone has the force they just don’t train because it’s difficult. So to answer your question DJ no you aren’t a Jedi in this world but it’s not what you’d want anyway
But I want a laser sword!
This is why people are pushing a “grey Jedi”: they want a character that can use a lightsaber and use force powers from both sides without consequences
gotta say the thumbnail for this episode looks great!
Thanks!
@@OnlyStupidAnswers super welcome!
Giancarlo Esposito is on an episode of game changers covid addition and he is delightful and a lot of fun with the regular dropout cast
I should check that out. He’s great!
The reshoots to add a whole new villain gives me army of the dead/ rise of skywalker vibes you can just tell when they add a character because they are poorly edited into conversations from other scenes I don’t like it
As a die hard Star Wars fan I'm loving the show so far for the exact thing DJ said, it nailed the vibe.
Yeah, it felt like a throwback to the classic Expanded Universe, or at least the books I read! Haha
I think part of my enjoyment may be from simply getting a story that's not tied into the skywalker saga in anyway. Even Andor and Mando ties into the over arching story of the movies in someway. This show , at least for now, doesn't rely on an existing character. Personally I hope they keep it that way. I know yoda might be alive at this point in time in the show but I really don't need to see a young yoda. A young yoda would be cool in theory but I feel like showing a young yoda would never live up to our expectations. Kind of how the Kenobi show was a let down. Something we thought we wanted but ended up being mediocre.
I totally agree. The idea of Star Wars doing truly fresh stories is very appealing.
I’m all for creating new characters that stand on their own
The problem with Disney Star Wars is that in an attempt to do the former they ended up ruining the Skywalker saga by having the empire rise again and kill off Luke Han Leia after all their work is undone. Leias new republic is null en void after a laserblast, Han would’ve been better of staying a smuggler and Luke doesn’t train a single Jedi that lives and meets his fate for reasons he should be above
And all this was to simply get these characters out of the way
@@KRobinson-ko1ne Agreed. If they were just going to remove the legacy characters anyway, they should've just written a new story that wasn't inter connected with the skywalker saga. After watching the latest episode, my enjoyment of this show has plummeted. Not because of legacy characters being introduced but because of lore shattering writing. I was too optimistic because of how promising this show was.
Thank you for breaking down the anti woke issue with this show. It soo sad
#FoxyRoxy🫢😍🫢
Whats disappointing is this show has wasted potential it pick a time period where U could have been created with it instead Disney decided to go gay why who knows.
🙉🙉🙉
As a original OG fan everything post ROTJ has been a let down. Seems time and place are important in how great things come about.
Lmao no
I'm new here but hey I know Roxy
Hiii
None of The Acolyte was shot on the Volume FYI. You can look that fact up very easily.
Good to know!
As someone with young kids, Disney Jr is still top channel and Nick Jr
Thanks for helping me figure out why I dig this show. I couldn't put my finger on it but you nailed it when you said it has the vibe of a CW show. I know most fans wouldn't like that concept, but I think it works. It definitely takes me back to the old Super TV Show days 💙
Definitely feels like a show we would’ve covered on SuperTV!
My theory was that Esposito might be General GW Bridge until hearing the character is meant to be a villain. (not that GW can't be, but it's less likely. Fury's brother does make more sense)
Lol it also broke my brain when I realized I remembered Charlie Barnett from Arrow. I had seen him in a bunch of things afterwards, so it completely slipped my mind that I first saw him on the CW 😂
The Acolyte, is NOT what The Prequels 'should have been'
You think Headland is better at this than George Lucas?!? C'mon bruh.
Seriously!
Yes
Yes because the prequels we got our 💩 and I think Esposito is playing bushman who we will then see in moon knight s2. He said that we will see his character in a movie and a series
i normally love roxys take. "Acolyte, it's awesome if you dont like Star Wars that much and dont wanna think too hard." no tho.
Yeah it's not great on any metrix....it's mid. Andor is great.... I get why some don't like it, but I bet lots of people can at least understand why people would like it. With Acolyte you have a mystery that is explained in the first 2 episodes.
