Pray 2: The Big City I woefully misunderstood the brief and have written a screwball family comedy from the 2000's starring a straight talking priest from the hood and a stuffy businessman who's too busy at work to see his kids.
Someday far in the future James and Mason need matching anonymous side-by-side headstones that simply read “I’m bigger Galactus!” And “I’m Rude Obi-Wan Kenobi!”
I'm not crying, you're crying. Also, I'm crying. I feel like a lot of us see ourselves in this story, in terms of the joy that comes from these two mates just doing their thing. I look forward to hanging out with them every week.
My friend worked on the new venom film in the costume department. I'm gonna have to watch it just to see his name in the credits. He also worked on the new Downton Abbey. So proud of him. 😁
Sunshine 2. We need to send a big bomb to restart the Moon. One of the crew members spends too much time staring at the moon and turns into a werewolf or something.
I think the Acolyte is gonna be one of those shows that only gets worse and becomes so infamous people who care will hate watch it to make fun of it just like secret invasion
I would really enjoy a Sunshine prequel. I like the idea of seeing what the crew of the first Icarus mission went through, and seeing Pinbacker slowly go insane would reinforce the 3rd of act of Sunshine.
For the Acolyte, I kinda wish there was more ambiguity around whether the twin was alive or not. If there was more of a potentially unreliable narrator. Maybe there still could be but it would take more work. Otherwise, as a straight forward show, it is... straight forward.
Bernie 2011 is a real treat, and feels like a companion piece to Hit Man, highly recommend it. ALSO based on an article written buy the guy who originally wrote about the real-life hitman decoy Gary
I'd love to see Linklater adapt something by Stephen King. Maybe The Long Walk or Revival? They're both great at bringing the slightly unusual into a traditional Americana location.
I’m so disappointed that Netflix isn’t giving Hit Man a proper theatrical run. I saw it a few weeks ago in a packed theater and the vibes were amazing. It’s funny, tense, and thoughtful definitely recommend checking it out!
In the Venom trailer, it's the exact same bartender -- his hair was in a ponytail in No Way Home and he just took his ponytail down in the trailer -- it's even implied to be the exact same day not even an hour later. More-no was tracking the anomalies... everything this he's in the MCU universe....
I will say, I don't mind the idea of the Xenomorphs being bio-engineered in "Alien." *However,* it makes NO sense at all for David to be their creator, because the other movies all prove that they existed LONG before he showed up. Like, it's not even up for interpretation, the Engineers painted murals of them & had their eggs stored en-mass in their spaceships. That's like if a new Star Wars movie revealed Vader wasn't Luke's father somehow...
Would a Rust Cohle True Detective spin-off with Rust tracking down another killer (played by Powell) who turns out to be his bastard son from when he was undercover with the bikers work? Cohle VS a younger Cohle?
I really liked Prey and thought Amber Midthunder did great. However, I do not wish to see a direct sequel of that movie. I was really hoping they'd go into a different time with a different type of warrior. The idea the internet was floating around with Hiroyuki Sanada as a Samurai taking on a Predator would have been great or at least something like that.
The title of this episode reminds me, Caravan of Garbage are currently doing poorly performing Videogame movies. Did the two Hitman movies perform well? or was it a case of "we had to pick 4". Also, completely by chance, it gets mentioned at the end of the episode when Timothy Oliphant was brought up. 😅
One thing that I found ironic about the Acolyte and its great that apparently Im not the only one is that certain scenes and shots look like a film and others look so cheaply and badly done..it just seems like different people are filming the show...some good and some really bad
My one major criticism of the Acolyte is its characters are not-believably really dumb, and don't think dynamically for even a moment at every given opportunity apart from the odd marvel-quip. I guess the makeup and cgi could be better too, but doesn't bug me so much. Still seems less dumb than Ahsoka. Edited to rag on Kenobi too; ooof.
Someone who works for the show told her to ask the question as such. There is a much better way to ask the same thing; someone with a marketing degree knows that. Us educated millennials aren't as stupid as we're perceived; idk if i can say the same for those who believed her naivety LOL😅
My problem with the Acolyte is that it feel unbelievably small. They show us a world with Jedi everywhere and the story is just a murder-mystery with a handful of people involved. Kind of a waste of the setting. Also there is a Sith and a hundred years later they can not fathom that Sith actually exist...
All of these grips are addressed in the show. The jedi only want a small investigation until they know what the problem is and who is responsible because of politics. The Jedi do not know who is responsible. And neither do the audience for that matter. There has been 1 line about 'peace is a lie'. Could it be? Sure, maybe. But let's not act like it's been confirmed.
@@DCVM93 You're right, but that still makes it feel super small in this large world. They should have written a story with larger scope, one that can fill the scope of the world. But that's just my opinion.
By reading the comments here about the Acolyte I can tell I’m the perfect demo for this channel because I also thought it was alright 🤷🏻♂️ im just a filthy casual like these dog if a blokes and I wouldn’t have it any other way, vitriol away real Star Wars fans!
This better be good, James. I'm missing Red Notice.
You are being unreasonable here, it IS Red Notice
Just watch it on the other 3 Red Notice dedicated devices in your household like the rest of us
Or buy a better tv. Screen in screen. Get a decent head unit and 2 sets of earbuds, split the signals, and you can listen to both. Aim higher man.
Why wouldn’t you simply put red notice on the Picture in Picture so you can red notice INSIDE red notice
Elvis was known to watch three TVs at once. And this was before there was was even anything good on TV
Prey Two: Stay Preyed Up!
Wait, please don't tell me it's gonna star Maso's favourite actor and human
Wow that's bad. You should stop trying to be funny
Prey Two: Pray too.
Pray 2: The Big City
I woefully misunderstood the brief and have written a screwball family comedy from the 2000's starring a straight talking priest from the hood and a stuffy businessman who's too busy at work to see his kids.
Prey 2: Electric Boogaloo
The Venom Goonerverse is an entirely different series of films.
37:15 I think a xenomorph from Alien/Aliens smell like chlorine from a pool lol 😅
Someday far in the future James and Mason need matching anonymous side-by-side headstones that simply read “I’m bigger Galactus!” And “I’m Rude Obi-Wan Kenobi!”
The letters section got me where i feel . Sorry for their loss . Hope they’re doing fine . Rest in peace
I read the post on the weekly planet subreddit and just ugly cried reading through all of it .
I'm not crying, you're crying. Also, I'm crying. I feel like a lot of us see ourselves in this story, in terms of the joy that comes from these two mates just doing their thing. I look forward to hanging out with them every week.
I'm concerned that James gets too hydrated.
If he keeps going like this he might drown himself in Soda.
He's gonna spontaneously dissolve into a puddle of water, like that senator in the X-Men movie.
My friend worked on the new venom film in the costume department. I'm gonna have to watch it just to see his name in the credits. He also worked on the new Downton Abbey. So proud of him. 😁
I'm excited to see his work too! Costume is an underappreciated but incredibly hard working department!
I have 30 minutes to squeeze this 1:40:25 episode in before work.
...my boss is not going to be happy with the result
"You gahtta be wicked smaht ta fight a predata."
It's weird to hear my accent mocked by Australians. We could have been natural accent allies.
Weekly Planet animations needs to jump on Mase-O captaining a vessel whilst drinking G&Ts
Mason using the phrase “Venom Gooniverse” 😦
19 inches of Venom
Sunshine 2.
We need to send a big bomb to restart the Moon.
One of the crew members spends too much time staring at the moon and turns into a werewolf or something.
And that crew member is John Jameson, J Jonah Jameson III aka Man-Wolf, making Sunshine 2 a secret Marvel (or at least a Spider-Verse) movie!
Bigger Galactus is my new favourite character
the only hero who can stop him is, of course, Big Ears Batman.
Is Bigger Galactus bigger than Bigger Luke?
No character is better than Corn of Coblin.
6:18 being a marvel fan is about finding the balance between caring more than anything in the world really not having anymore fucks to give
Somehow in a month of Furiosa and the Acolyte, Hitman was the thing I enjoyed watching the most
I like when you crack open a cold beer :)
As a native of Price Edward Island, I too relate Anne of Green Gable to some kind of hazy fever dream.
Acolyte feels like a first draft of a good star wars show
I wanna get James in a room with a bunch of Ghostbusters fans and Mad Max fans and see who he beats to death first.
Never throught about it, but with Acid blood, the Aliens most certainly smell like pickles, right?
I thought they’d smell like vomit?
Maybe it's hyper concentrated citric acid and aliens smell lemony fresh
Maso, I just want to give you your flowers for the edging joke, I laughed out loud when you said it and James didn't even react!
On the one hand I'm so glad James is staying hydrated, but on the other hand I'm worried that the soda is keeping him dehydrated. Im so conflicted.
Jake Paul is going to fight the ulcer? So it's an ulcer versus a tumor?
Rhys Ifans is playing Otto Hightower in Venom 3. You heard it here first.
I was just about to start a Red Notice rewatch but saw you've uploaded something.
I think the Acolyte is gonna be one of those shows that only gets worse and becomes so infamous people who care will hate watch it to make fun of it just like secret invasion
I really can’t see it surpassing Secret Invasion in terms of how much of a turd the finale was. What in the hell was that?!
Making Monday tolerable ❤
That and Spice and Wolf
Top form this week, boys! Loved it! Thank you!!
I would really enjoy a Sunshine prequel.
I like the idea of seeing what the crew of the first Icarus mission went through, and seeing Pinbacker slowly go insane would reinforce the 3rd of act of Sunshine.
When does Chris Evans character from Losers get a spinoff show "90s Guys"?His uniform is frosted tips and a pooka shell necklace.
WAHOOOOOO!!!!! This is exactly what I wanted, yay Mondays!
For the Acolyte, I kinda wish there was more ambiguity around whether the twin was alive or not. If there was more of a potentially unreliable narrator. Maybe there still could be but it would take more work.
Otherwise, as a straight forward show, it is... straight forward.
God that new Intro is gold

Its not Monday until i hear the mates and brothers. They also kiss.
I always thought Xenomorphs would smell kind of similar to crushed millipedes.
For some reason I thought Hitman was a theater movie not a Netflix movie
Mason speaking truths with choosing G&T’s at bars. Easy to make and refreshing 👌
I wonder if Sigourney Reaber will be in the new Alien film?
James staying hydrated i hear ❤️
Though G&Ts aren't the best way of staying hydrated. And you probably shouldn't be drinking them while steering a yacht, either.
@@johnpotts8308solid advice tbf
The sequel to Sunshine is Moonfall!
Mason is 4'6"- i saw him trying to sneak on the big dipper at luna world 🤣
My doctor diagnosed me with star worts.
I don't want to be the guy that points out when you were listing Ryan Reynolds movies you forgot Red Notice, but...
They were so distracted by Red Notice to list Red Notice
New Predator movie where the Predator murders a bunch of Catholics.
Prey 2: The Lord
1:55 you miss big things? never. it's not like you completely forgot that we have three new episodes of the boys between now and next week's podcast.
1:24:58 You lads need to see the 1970s duology. It fucking slaps.
The Predator is bigger and better than everyone, so being small and weak helps, for some reason.
Love these guys, my life is so much better thanks to these idiots
Prey 2: Electric Preygaloo
Stop me if I'm crazy, but hear me out: Galactus' dad
I actually really love your podcast, and you two are quite alright as well! Thanks for being coool dudes
I remember when James and Maso liked James Franco, before he died. RIP.
I’m so disappointed that Netflix isn’t giving Hit Man a proper theatrical run. I saw it a few weeks ago in a packed theater and the vibes were amazing. It’s funny, tense, and thoughtful definitely recommend checking it out!
Nobody's gonna talk about how episode 1 of The Acolyte is just the first half hour of The Fugitive?
RODNEY BLINK 3 TIMES IF WE HAVE TO RESCUE YOU

@1:11:00
I would rather be under unimaginable stress attempting to steer a yacht and serve G&Ts to rich people than listening to this podcast.
You're missing out then
Bring Baldy Zane back
Let's see I can listen to this podcast or I can watch the first 100 minutes of Red Notice again, is there really any question
I do love the idea of the Batman series style MCU movies. Christopher Nolans, Real, gritty, dark. Tim burtons campy, funny, colourful.
DEFENDERS!
I always assume the Xenomorpths smell like stink bugs
What do bugs even smell like?
Would a Rust Cohle True Detective spin-off with Rust tracking down another killer (played by Powell) who turns out to be his bastard son from when he was undercover with the bikers work? Cohle VS a younger Cohle?
As a white man: First I realized there were no white men

They SPUMMed it
RODNEY
“The Killer’s Game” ACTUALLY looks horrendous.
I think Jordan Peele would do X-men very well. Especially with the themes of racism and discrimination we see often in the comics
Agent Venom.
1:14:25 ☎️
Please review episode 3 when it’s out.
The Acolyte feels like Knives Out: Star Wars and I have to wonder if this was originally going to be the alleged Rian Johnson trilogy
Ooh I like that theory
He didn't learn English. He's speaking phonetic English, meaning he's saying the sounds of words but not really knowing what they mean.
Jedi on the trail of a murderer give me MASSIVE John Travolta with jacket memes.
Aliens definitely smell like Steve Buchemi
32:00 Except the Hellboy reboot was just a bad film all by itself.
Jordan peele would do a good blade
🎉
Uhhhhhhh, spoilers for Dawson's Creek?

Twice the budget of Obi Wan is just absurd.
Yall didn't hate The Acolyte?!?!?!?! Oh no
Dupree was not the problem
Still no Fallout review?
I gotta say, if everyone in Acolyte was a white guy played by Liam Neeson, I would actually love that.
Surprised James was so harsh on The Acolyte, he usually loves all Star Wars Disney stuff
Wow, 58 seconds and no views. They fell off
Everyone would rather be on their yacht, I guess.
Tbh it's the anti-hydration crowd rallying against James and his wanton use of cracking open cans in the intro
this joke is the new "First!" and I hate it just the same.
